Simple. Just stay at the club and let them pay his wages even if he wont play anymore. Getting 600k/week without working is pure happiness..

I don't understand why they are treating him like this or why Bale is intent on staying, if it was me I would be out of there in a shot, no one needs that kind of bullshit. Is there something else going on behind scenes that I am unaware of?
I think Bale isn't motivated to be honest. Most other players would look to continue playing regularly but he's comfortable with his high wages and probably feels like he has nothing else to prove.

I pray he's not coming here. Other than injury prone and having a lack of hunger, he's really declined. He's not the player people in this country think he is. That's all gone now. A big expensive mess which we need to stay away from.

After the Zidane quotes I could seen Bale ending up with us now more than I ever have. Would be typical of us to get him now
I really hope you are wrong but fear you may be right as Bale was originally one of the 4 signings on Woody's dream list. Woody may still have the obsession with him, although I hope this is not still the case mate.

Bring him here. Then he and Sanchez could hang out at Dunham Forest every day working on their swing, or whatever golfers do.
No thanks. Why should we pay them to golf? Please God I don't want him here.

Dunno why Ed has a hard on for the guy. Is he even marketable? The guy is pretty boring.

Think of shirt sales in Wales though
Wales? There isn't enough people in the UK to make back his exorbitant fee!

I don't care where he goes as long as it's not here. Maybe he should move to Georgia and get membership at Augusta. Then he can golf on the most beautiful course for the rest of his days..

I see both sides here. On one hand it's easy to say that Bale isn't motivated enough and he should take a pay cut to play somewhere else, but on the other hand, if I was making a lot of money and my boss was showing disrespect to me, I would want to stick it to him as well. Bale has been under appreciated and made a scapegoat at Real Madrid despite scoring some big goals for them. It's kind of nice to see such a classless club like Real Madrid having to pay those type of wages to a player who isn't going to see the field...

100% agree. Zidan's way of treating Bale was a disgrace from day one.

Always wondered that myself. Not sure about how marketable he is. I think it might be an ego thing with Woody to prove that he's this amazing negotiator. I think Woody is a bit crazy mate:houllier:

Well hopefully he's over it. We don't need another big expensive mess.

Sounds like it from all reports on his obsession with Bale:lol:

Do you need physical evidence?:D
I think it's more posters on here that are convinced he does. As far as I know United were interested in 2013 and 2016, that's hardly an obsession. There was reports earlier that we have no interest.

I hope this is true. We really don't need to waste time nor money here.

The Sun is quoting Marcelo:
Marcelo has also questioned how well he has tried to fit as he doesn’t speak Spanish. He said: "Bale does not speak [Spanish] as he only speaks English and we talk with gestures."

Bet that was fun.

Well done Zidane. I for one applaud him. If only we had someone who had the balls to do this to half of our deadwood we would not have harboured players that are clearly past it on the bench for 5 years.

Don't care about hurting the players feelings. We should do this to Sanchez. But we won't. We will keep Sanchez until his contract expires because we are gutless and don't want to upset him. Well done Real and Zidane.
I would agree if Bale was "deadwood", but he isn't. Comparing his situation to Sanchez is way off the mark. Bale has been a very important player for Real Madrid and the only thing that has let him down is his injury record. Can't say the same for Sanchez. Real Madrid fans never warmed up to him and are famous for throwing their best players under the bus. If Bale was Spanish he would be a Real Madrid legend. But because he's not as good as CR7 he is scapegoated. But make no mistake, 78 goals in 155 appearances (La Liga) are world class numbers for a winger. To put that into perspective, Figo only scored 38 in 164 appearances for Real Madrid and is considered a legend. If I take all comps Bale's at 102 goals in 231 appearances, and some of those are really big goals, like in the CHampions League where his brace gave Real Madrid the title 2 years ago. He also has 65 assists in all competitions. So I don't blame him one bit for being "butt hurt" over his situation at Real Madrid...

They are most likely the biggest club in the world and the most successful but I genuinely would be put off joining them if I was a footballer. They seem terrible at dealing with farewells. Then again Bale knew exactly what he signing up to like they did. They deserve each other.

Have to admire Zidane in some ways. Doesnt fancy a player and goes all out to get rid of him. Whereas we tend to renew players contracts like confetti. We should have taken this approach with Sanchez and gone all out to get rid of the fraud.
If we were decisive as Madrid are perhaps we wouldn't still be in transition for the 7th season running.

Close to pointless comparison given how the game has changed and the freedom that wide forwards have been allowed in recent years. Players like Figo, Giggs were more midfielders than forward while players like Bale, Robben, Ronaldo are really strikers playing from the wing.

Makes it difficultto compare wide players across eras given the changes in the game.

In the entire history of Real Madrid, only 21 players have scored more than 100 goals for the first team.

Bale is one.

He seems to be getting no credit for what he achieved mostly because he's not Ronaldo, who was doing better at the same time. Bale still put the numbers in.

Zidane is a being a massive twat by commenting so freely.

I hope Bale rinses them for every penny of the contract they gave him.
Can see both sides. Zidane clearly wants to move Bale on and this was prolly a last resort. End of the day, he’s doing what he feels is best for Madrid.

Can’t ever see Ole taking a page from Zidane’s book here as it relates to Sanchez. Call it being ruthless or a twat, simply isn’t in Ole’s personality.

Glad it isn't us in for him, he's rejected us twice become a crock and has almost no dignity, Zidane has basically told him for over a year he doesn't rate him and wants him out. Hope he ends up in China or in Real Madrid reserves collecting his pay.
