"We could be like them"It’s saved my marriage.
I’m taking notes."We could be like them"
It's you isn't it? You're the one watching the Spanish village polopos whilst your wife is sleep, aren't you?Yeah, my wife's the same. Some of the shows she watches are just so horrible. At the moment she's watching a show called "The Spanish village Polopos" in which 5 families are tasked with rebuilding the village and attracting tourists to go there. Obviously they fight over everything and most of the show is them bad mouthing the others in to the camera. It makes my blood boil just watching it, but somehow it's also a good way to relieve stress.
I love a good hate-in.
Him and Anna were constantly in the least popular couples, even after becoming official. He had nothing to lose really with 1 week left as they had 0 chance of winning the show.Jordan's excuses make me laugh
The way he's like "it's just a conversation, it's not cheating". Jordan let's be honest, if India said oh I like you dump Anna and let's snog right now he would have done it 100%.
He was dangling out his rod to see if he had a better option before losing what he already had.
I really hope he was told to act that way by the producers as you'd have to be thick as fcuk to do that with 1 week left
Well he had nothing to gain but everything to lose by going out like that.Him and Anna were constantly in the least popular couples, even after becoming official. He had nothing to lose really with 1 week left as they had 0 chance of winning the show.
Tom wasn't it? Maura was giving him pelters about it and actually said that Jordan told her, whilst Jordan was sat on the beds next to Maura. Jordan was sat there looking down sheepishly, definitely knew he'd done his mate over. That was the last episode I watched, about 18 behind and cba watching it, it's utter drivel. You mean the same bloke who told Anna about what the fella (forgot his name, the bloke who said "lets see if she's all talk" about Maura) told him in confidence.
Agreed.it's a big pile of addictive muck that's somehow both enjoyable and makes me want to gouge my damn eyes out.

To be fair this is a Manchester United forum on which most posters seem to hate Manchester United. Moaning is the lifeblood of this forum.I watch it because I love literal trash tv for entertainment purposes & the memes.
I'm not sure why most of these other guys watch it, they complain about it & the people on it almost every day
Can't argue with factsTo be fair this is a Manchester United forum on which most posters seem to hate Manchester United. Moaning is the lifeblood of this forum.
After a brief skim read, this article is exactly why I've bitten my tongue on multiple occasions in this thread. It doesn't even go into enough detail and leaves off the behaviour of some of the guys too.https://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/gaslighting-on-love-island-2019
What are people's thoughts on this?
A bit of a hysterical overreaction. You put 80 IQ alpha meatheads like Jordan and Michael on a show that is an homage to superficial fame seekers, alongside the sort of women who are almost more silicon than carbon at this point, you can't then wonder why they go on to act like pillocks.https://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/gaslighting-on-love-island-2019

I think it leaves off the behaviour of some of the girls too. After a brief skim read, this article is exactly why I've bitten my tongue on multiple occasions in this thread. It doesn't even go into enough detail and leaves off the behaviour of some of the guys too.
I doubt it will be taken seriously or explored, after all - the women are just raging bitches & cnuts etc.
Even though I didnt like Anna due to the whole Ovie/Casa Amor double standards I wholeheartedly agree with this. After a brief skim read, this article is exactly why I've bitten my tongue on multiple occasions in this thread. Well of course, the focus is on the fact that not enough has been made of the behaviour of the men because all the women are angry, emotional & comparable to various animals.I think it leaves off the behaviour of some of the girls too.
Yes, but it does work both ways. There have been double standards from the beginning. Maura saying she'd like to wrap her legs around whoever. If a man had said he'd love to shove his whatever down whoever's throat, that'd be the end of him. Or Anna's "Jordan who?" moment.Well of course, the focus is on the fact that not enough has been made of the behaviour of the men because all the women are angry, emotional & comparable to various animals.
I don't think the article is trying to present a balanced view.
Maura's sexual tone worked against her with Tom's "We'll see if she's all talk" gaffe though, even though Tom caught the flack all the men were encouraging it beforehand because her openly talked about sex meant that she was only viewed in a sexual manner.Yes, but it does work both ways. The article wasn't tying to be balanced and it fecked itself over in my opinion. Could easily have chastised the men and been objective.
Absolute bollocks.https://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/gaslighting-on-love-island-2019

The Jordan who comment was a joke, but her cracking on with Ovie wasn't a joke. Michael got more flak for choosing Joanna than Anna did for kissing Ovie within hours of meeting him.Maura's sexual tone worked against her with Tom's "We'll see if she's all talk" gaffe though, even though Tom caught the flack all the men were encouraging it beforehand because her openly talked about sex meant that she was only viewed in a sexual manner.
I agree that Maura's behaviour towards Tommy on the second night and trying to force a kiss on him was out of order - but that was also criticised at the time, and was reported to OFCOM 100's of time.
So it's not like her behaviour has gone unchecked, she's been criticised and has broken down on the show over it also.
Anna's "Jordan who?" was clearly a joke, and she literally said "i'm just joking I wouldn't say that really" (i'm paraphrasing) right after it - but because she's a hated character, that doesn't get covered.
Also everybody conveniently forgets that Jordan did try and crack on with Jourdan, it was just that after he failed and she clearly wasn't into him, was that he decided that he missed Anna.
I fail to see how the article could've chastised the men and been objective at the same time - also it looks like an opinion piece, so why does it need objectivity?
But that’s the point of love island though isn’t it? Or am I missing something? The Jordan who comment was a joke, but her cracking on with Ovie wasn't a joke. Michael got more flak for choosing Joanna than Anna did for kissing Ovie within hours of meeting him.
And of course it doesn't need to be objective. It is an opinion piece. But for me, someone's opinion loses weight when they don't at least consider some objectivity. Then I start to feel someone has a narrative that they want to push.
Let's be honest, they mostly are. Just like the guys are mostly absolute bellends.
Of course, insulting them and laughing at their behaviour is part of the fun.Let's be honest, they mostly are. Just like the guys are mostly absolute bellends.
It's Love Island ffs, they're all vapid douchecakes and any kind of behavioural analysis is wasted because they're not acting like normal people and they're in a very usual environment.
These are mostly horrible people dropped into a bizarre set of circumstances and filmed 24/7, of course there going to come across as cnuts a lot of the time.
Anton has been called out on here a few times, notably when he gave his number to the shop assistant (as obviously set up as that was) and then last night when he was talking about Curtis in spite of his own history.Of course, insulting them and laughing at their behaviour is part of the fun.
I guess the difference for me is that the guys have openly lied about their behaviour and manipulated it to make it look like the women are acting irrationally & childishly (in Michael’s voice) when they react to the guys behaviour.
That then feeds into the stereotype about women being emotional and bitchy - when really, excluding Anna - the women have actually been in the right for the majority of the time.
But because they express themselves in a way that isn’t docile, or submissive they get compared to things like hyenas, and demeaned as bitches.
What that then means is the more quiet women garner more respect, and the ones who say what they think are hated. Also when the guys act emotionally & childishly they aren’t branded with that same judgement, or if they are - they are given the range to grow as a person during their time in the villa.
Someone like Amber is still deemed as immature and emotional because of what she was like in the first two weeks or so - compare that someone like Anton who has pretty much only been up for banter and a laugh - and his childishness isn’t used against him.
I saw one comment about Anton last night, along with Maura joining the ‘noisy bitch crew’ I mean the difference is staggering.Anton has been called out on here a few times, notably when he gave his number to the shop assistant (as obviously set up as that was) and then last night when he was talking about Curtis in spite of his own history.
I just generally think reading anything until the way they're talked about is a total waste of energy given the unique circumstances and the fact that they're pretty much all perfect examples of the worst of today's "celebrity" culture.
That's a massive overstatement.I saw one comment about Anton last night, along with Maura joining the ‘noisy bitch crew’ I mean the difference is staggering.
Reading this thread you’d think that a number of people actively hate women - but you’re right that they’re in unique circumstances.
I just can’t imagine having such a hatred towards someone you’ve never met, when really this whole show is just for entertainment
I’m excluding Anna when I say that. That's a massive overstatement.
When presented with hateful characteristics people will react accordingly, there's nothing more to it than that. It just so happens that Anna was by far the worst in there, and thus took the brunt of most of it. Not because she's a woman, just cos she's horrible.
You're automatically assuming it's all unwarranted. There's been plenty of horrendous behaviour in there, and it's not misogynistic to point that out when it's there.I’m excluding Anna when I say that.
The women have collected been referred to as bitches, cnuts, hyenas and more for expressing themselves when reacting to the behaviour of the men throughout this entire thread. It’s shocking when you reread the comments tbh.
Hmm no I’m looking back on the whole series, and at no point am I saying the women are completely innocent. You're automatically assuming it's all unwarranted. There's been plenty of horrendous behaviour in there, and it's not misogynistic to point that out when it's there.
Let'sbut we can agree to disagree.
I really wouldn't be surprised if he wasLooks like Maura is finally twigging that not only is Curtis flakey and full of shit, he's also gay.
