They've left it way too late.
If for example they offered £140m I am still not sure we would be able to turn it down myself. Still have a feeling WE may have left it too late in rebuilding the midfield from selling him.

By the end of the season it was obvious Pogba wasnt happy and that Madrid may be interested. Was also clear his wonderful couple of months of form earlier in the season was another false dawn for him being the Pogba we want to see far more consistently. Talented he may be, our best outfield player he may well be too....terrible to say but the last couple of years is that really saying much?

We should have I think early in the window made a major effort to sell players with value like Pogba and Lukaku to reinvest or cleared out as quickly as possible a lot of the deadwood to free up wages, spaces in the squadand a bit of extra cash in the transfer kitty, probably a mixture of both, so far we have done neither, have a big squad but its pretty much the same as the one that was awful last season and for all the players we can hope/expect to progress there are pretty much as many that may regress, so this stage if the window though I wanted him gone I think I hope you are right, but I am really not so sure

I wouldn't be surprised if Pogba Left and SMS and Bruno came in . Dissapointed the way we are doing things but not surprised
If we do sell him I would rather sign a replacement and a defensive midfielder, if we are to continue with a double pivot we may get away without a new defensive midfielder....but if we want to play an anchorman we could be woefully short there much like we have had ageing and delcining right backs for a while, we seem to have plenty of central midfielder even with the sales we ave made, thoug many havent proved themselves as an anchor man though we have Matic and........the other options just dont seem right at all

Selling Pogba this late might be suicidal. But then again keeping him against his will might backfire if he downs tools and spoils the team spirit. It's a shit situation. Let's hope he will be professional.
I agree with this, I am surprised by how worried people are about losing Pogba though, its like people have forgotten how average he often is, yes he has great ability and his stats might look good but we are hardly talking about Keane, Scholes, Robson or even Ince here performance wise

No, for it to be fantastic, we would also need to offload Darmian and Rojo or Jones. But it would be a step in the right direction )

Yeah been here at the end of a few summer windows too often recently to believe any of it. See a few people saying this deal would be a dream.....a wet dream, just entered my head......

Lukaku and Sanchez for Moise Kean and Dybala.....a man can dream

To be honest, Lukaku out is enough for me to be happy about, never wanted him and has never really swayed me. Quite a few people saying he was a great signing and better than Ibrahimovic was madness to me, his touch just makes me wince

Where do we reckon that team is capable of finishing? There's not many holes in the first team, but the back ups are pretty terrible.

PFFFFFF. I'll believe any of this when I bloody see it. If the Lukaku/Dybala goes through I'll post a picture of me eating a hat.

I will then print off many copies of the picture of you eating the hat and, from those pictures, fashion a papier mache hat that I will post pictures of me eating.

Dybala would walk into this team. So I call bullshit, but Juve do have a boner for big clumsy forwards, so maybe a glimmer of truth.
United would still probably turn the offer down though probably to do with his profile not being right and the fact young JLingz may lose his starting spot.
Ive been beating the drum for a while now - do NOT rule out Pogba leaving AFTER our window closes. Ideal situation for the Glazers. Pocket the lot and claim the offer was too good to refuse, even at the last minute. Get Ole to tell us Gomes and Greenwood etc are the future.

I'd be shocked if Pogba plays against Chelsea and even more shocked if we sign someone to replace him when he inevitably joins Madrid in the next few weeks.
This is a very intriguing opinion and I would not put it past Woody to do this to add more money to the Glazer's pockets. But one thing which makes me feel that this would't happen is that Adidas say they would want us to sign another superstar to replace him, which I don't think Woody would want to fork out the cash for a superstar.

The only way I could see this happening is if there is any truth in Juventus wanting to willing to offer Dybala in part exchange for Lukaku, we would have a superstar to take Pogba's place as a marketing tool. Although I don't see this happening, I think you may be right on this one, as Ronaldo supposedly wants Lukaku wants at Juventus. I for one would take Dybala for Lukaku.

This is based on nothing but hyperbole and hysteria from your end. Ideal situation for the Glazers is for the best players to want to come to United at high transfer fees and win everything in sight because it makes the club more valuable and hence increases both their dividends and the value of their asset should they decide to cash out.

But I'd wager even you don't believe it really but are trying to be overly pessimistic for your own reasons.
I 100% respect your opinion but don't agree with it. I don't believe the Glazer's are willing to spend the money to bring in the best players as I think they just want top 4 and I think they may feel we already have enough quality to achieve this. although I don't unless we sign a few more players.

That side is capable of top 3 without doubt. Also leaves some strength and legs on the bench

I hate this narrative that they don't want to spend. They have. Barring last summer, they have spent big money consistently.

Not only have we spent hundreds of millions I'm sure we have the highest wages per club in the premiership as well . We have spent so much money on players managers gave asked for yet still ended up miles from the top.

Exactly. Our run as the big spenders didn't get us anywhere except angry at players when they come back.

What I don't get is, if those rumours are to be believed, what we'll do with all those attacking midfielders?
Say Lukaku for Dybala and Fernandes go through, then we'll have JLingz, Mata, Dybala, Fernandes, Pereira, Gomes and potentially Pogba to play in attacking midfield.
I suppose we could use Pogba + two more of the names mentioned above when we play 4231 or 442 diamond or in a 433, with Matic sitting anchor.

I am confused. I don't believe we need all that. If I had to chose between bringing Fernandes and Dybala or bringing one of Fernandes and Dybala and a b2b or DM I'd choose the latter.

Of course you don't need quality like Fernandes and Dybala when you have even better in Mata and Jlingz.

I am not disputing the blog writing qualities of Mata, nor Jesse's Instagram endeavours. One of a kind!

I am curious why would we want to pay such money in wages to all these guys, take away the little game time Gomes could get, just so we are stacked in AM and thin in CM.

He's right, we'd still need that midfielder too dictate, especially if it was Dybala who is more of an attacker. I think we can build a more balanced side with Bruno instead of Dybala. Trying to fit Dybala, Pogba, Rashford, Martial into an 11 that is still solid defensively would be tough with the players we have imo.

Apart from Pogba we don't have players that can score from midfield.

I actually think the main reason we’ve taken so long to purchase SMS/Bruno/Maguire is because we’ve been waiting for the £150m Pogba bid. Think we have already agreed terms with all of them and will pull the trigger once Real cough up the money for Pogba.

You should ask Woodward as to why he persists with dross and not replace them with better players.

I just think it's unbalanced. Say a front 3 of Rashford, Martial and James with Dybala at 10 and Pogba and Mctominay deeper. There's not enough workrate in that midfield 3. It made sense if it was Bruno or SMS, who both work hard off the ball and could drop in to make a midfield 3. Pogba is already flimsy on defence so i feel like that third midfielder also has to work hard, even if they're more attack minded. Bruno would bring that plus the goals.

Alternatively Dybala has to be one of the front 3 and we keep looking for that third midfielder.

Anyone disputing the quality of Dybala, has probably only seen him play last year when his profile in the team was basically handed to Ronaldo and he was asked to play in a more workman like fashion in the vein of Bernardeschi. Has the creativity, intelligence and skill we've lacked from everyone aside from Pogba. Could play behind the striker or the right.

We wouldn't play with a front 3 AND a 10 I believe.
