Guess we'll see next season. But Pepe, Tierney, and Ceballos are better than our players in the same position. And Arsenal finished above us last year.
Yup. Exactly. We are in a diabolical state. I can’t believe how inept we are. When does the window close again? 8 days or something like that?

A team with no money, that is having to fund a deal with manageable installments, signs a player for a position MUFC have not filled in seasons.

Meanwhile, we might make Maguire our last signing, or balk at the fees and just end the window with James and AWB

WAT? :lol::houllier:

They’re stronger in attack but if Maguire goes through our backline is well ahead of theirs.

The fact we’re even discussing how we stack up against fecking Arsenal with a week or so left of the window is laughable though.

Tierney is better than shaw? In what world? I'm not a massive shaw fan but Tierney is hardly an upgrade on him. Who knows how ceballos will take to the league good player no doubt but that means nothing yet.

Im off to that Ed thread. Fuming
Camping in there today. This situation is unacceptable.

11 days left to go of the transfer window and we still need a CB, CM minimum. If Lukaku does leave which is more than likely as then we will need a striker as well. 3 deals in 11 days. Our board cant organize a p*ss up in pub

How is it bullshit? Because you disagree? Currently, Leicester are favourites for the 6th place in my opinion. Everton and Wolves will surprise a few too. If we sign Maguire, we'd be able to probably get 4th if we were also insanely lucky with injuries.
Could you stop being hysterical, it's fecking annoying.

I tend to agree about the defence part mate, but this is a shambles right. We are piss poor in midfield as well

Matic>Fred>Pogba>McTomminay>Perreira - Pogba aside that's mid table standard

Not recently my friend. He's been patchy.

He's also said today that Arsenal have won the race to sign Pepe. An English club signing a French league player and he gets the scoop?

He's full of BS mate. Dybala is a better player than Lukaku. He can actually run, pass and trap a football for starters.

Looks like he was right with that one and called it before everyone else has started picking up on it this morning.

The guy will get things wrong from time to time (not everyone is perfect) but very rarely does he get things wrong when it comes to Italian transfers.

There are a ton of bulls*** journalists out there that just post things to gain clicks and followers. Di Marzio isn’t one of them. He only posts if he has been briefed something.

We will see what happens mate. I’m not holding much hope for this as I don’t think Dybala would fancy coming to a club that can’t guarantee they will be competing for trophies.

We are a joke that's why. Enough people on here knew this would happen though. It's just the same deluded posters again and again that just refuse to accept that we probably are the worst run "big" club in the world right know.

Tierney is an exceptional player. If he avoids injuries he's a future captain. Brilliant defending and attacking. Needs to improve passing but definitely will. I rate Shaw but Tierney as slightly better on top form.

But Arsenal have only actually signed one of those players and there’s no more evidence they will than there is that we’ll sign better players too.

I'm doubting this now. the closer the window ending gets, the less pressure Leicester face. They don't have to sell, Maguire certainly isn't pushing, we are the desperate party.

0 deadwood sold, 2 prospects bought. The "rebuild" was a mirage.

He has links with the club so would be inclined to believe it
Yeah that Juve deal would have been too nice. Probably was a brief to get Inter to pay up. Watch us buy Maguire with these funds and put in a late bid for that Newcastle guy and be done with it.

Couldn’t agree more. Maguire and WanB would be a box ticked on defence for this window.

Massive failure on midfield considering we’ve lost Fellaini and Herrera, Matic has fallen off a cliff and Fred hasn’t adjusted. Our response is to sign nobody.

As for attack we’re betting all chips on Rashford and Martial exploding this year cause I don’t see James setting the world alight although it’s a decent enough signing squad wise.

Window has been a disaster, no other way to look at it.

He plays in a tin pot league. I'd say the championship is more competitive. I'm not saying he cant do it at the top level but we dont know til he moves. To say hes above shaw is simply not true right now.

Hopefully the rumors yesterday that we (Chelsea) are after him are accurate. We buy him now, he stays at Palace for the season while we serve the transfer ban, and then he joins up this time next year.

Good for everyone involved.

Just comprehending something so disgraceful is something I just cannot allow myself to do, surely this top bit of business will kick the woodpecker into gear now and we can at least get Maguire and a CM. Still cannot believe that Arsenal have managed to pull off this signing with hardly any transfer budget at all.

I wonder if he ever just has a moment and thinks "What the feck have I got myself involved with here?" Running her mouth off constantly and burning his relationship with his current club to the point where nobody in Italy seems to be interested in taking the circus on. Then dictating he has to stay in italy because thats where she wants to raise her kids.

Kudos to Arsenal. Looks like Palace wanted around 80m for Zaha and most of that upfront. Arsenal couldnt agree to that and have reverted to plan B and have an agreement to pay similar for Pepe but spread it out over a number of years. Good business. If they sign a CB as well they will do well next season

If all stories are true, Zaha got fecked a bit by Arsenal.
Wait what ? How did Arsenal feck him ? He fecked himself by signing a stupid deal just to be able to say i'm Crystal Palace's biggest earner. He can hold that trophy close to his chest and hope Everton saves him. The lack of vision from him and his advisors is criminal.

I don't think he's bright or self aware enough to have those kind of thoughts.

We simply cannot sit back and allow Arsenal to get Pepe. It would be exactly the same as when we stepped aside to allow City to get Bernardo Silva. Here's a ridiculously talented players who can play from the right. What are we waiting for? 12 days to get a minimum of 3 world class players. Can't see us challenging for the top 6 without them.
I can't believe people think Arsenal are actually going to cough up £80m for Pepe given they've been bargain basement shopping all summer. Generally when a President of a club is saying they've had loads of offers its nearly always bullshit, see Fekir too. Nobody is paying £80m for Pepe, even in this market. There seems to be a slew of clubs from Europe this year who have decided selling average players at sky high prices was going to be a viable business plan this summer. As with this, Fernandes, Icardi and many many other, its all just bullshit and nobodies biting.

Edit:My bad, with Ornstein confirming it it seems Arsenal are that dumb. Which is surprising, if i had that kind opf money and was Arsenal surely Zaha is the better player and safer bet.

Palace probably would've wanted a lot of the cash up front for Zaha, their star player.

What a depressing morning of transfer news, Pepe to the arsenal, Fake Dybala news to utd and still no breakthrough with Maguire or anyone else. Well done Ed, will be even harder for a top 4 position and another season of what could have been, no wonder Pogba wants out as we aren't challenging for anything
