I think this is the way to go for sustained success in the future. There is too much TV money for the big teams to continue to poach players off small teams for cheap as has been the way in the past. The crazy amounts being asked for average players just makes me think you need to build through the youth system and only use big money transfers to fill a hole (injury/no youth player ready) or take advantage of an opportunity when it presents itself (free or player/club wants out of a bad situation).
The future?, its been happening for pretty much a decade. Thing is, look at City and Chelsea, how may have broken through? Maybe good for the clubs, they still generally make a profit so if 1 from 50 makes it, its all good, but destroyed a few careers.

We have been doing it as well Januzaj, Perreira mildly successful but even we havent done so well from it, Rafael is the last foreign youth player I can remember playing regularly, yet we have had a lot of success with British youth players

We're in the midst of very long negotiations. In London, Fabio Paratici Juventus Sporting Director is also working side by side with the agents of Dybala and Lukaku (Pastorello is also in England) and with Manchester United in order to reach agreements and complete the exchange. Between impasse and optimism, the sides continue to negotiate to reach the total finalization of the deal. Dybala, meanwhile, is expected in Turin. And if nothing changes, tomorrow he will train regularly with Sarri's team, with whom he will want to talk in the coming days. Perhaps, for a short time.
Can see all but Dybalas agent and our representatives sitting there twiddling there thumbs "yep we are done"....just waiting for DYbalas agent and us to agree a wage

Emeran, Hoogewerf, Mejia, Forson...
Well one is French :P Good to see us doing this though replacing the ones that have stepped up already. So hard to see who will develop from that kind of age. but does seem almost everyone signed from abroad at least is the next big thing

Starting to sound pretty close to completion.
At the club level, basically, they have already done everything. Count the will of Dybala. If he gives a positive opinion, the exchange is closed.

Well, you could say decadeS (class of 92 and all the success those boys helped in), I won't disagree. The comment about the future being from the amount transfer fees have ballooned the last 2-3 years making this even more important. While maybe in the past you could afford to just go the transfer route and not be penalized for lack of attention put towards the youth teams, I think at this point teams better examine/reconsider that philosophy.

Why does he want to talk to Sarri... The club has arranged his departure so what is there to discuss

I think the time between now and any official announcement will say a lot about how much Dybala actually wants this move.

The great thing is, if this happens, there'll be no bid preparation.

Why do they have to be 24-28? And why do they have to be a reasonable price when Maguire so obviously isnt?
We are being quoted £90m because of his contract, age, knows the league, the fact he’s English. You haven’t provided any names so assume you can’t think of one either.

I can't believe for one minute that Dybala is not aware of what is going on or has not been consulted about a proposed move to us. I mean imagine getting all parties including his agent around a table to thrash a deal out then it comes to getting it over the line.

'Hey Paolo, so err you might have seen the stories about leaving Juventus...............................................................well have I got a deal for you buddy.........................................'

Pretty much every report has said that Dybala's preference was to remain at Juve beyond the summer, but he is now exploring the possibility of a move here because Juve are seemingly willing to offload him.

I imagine he'll want to speak to Sarri face to face and get confirmation of that fact, before agreeing any deal.

Hannibal Mejbri for €10m
So whilst we haggle over another £10m on Maguire we have signed a 16 year old and a 21 year from the Championship for £25m combined. Just don’t see the point in signing loads of youngsters when we need better quality in the first 11 right now.

His agent is also his brother. I think the chat with Sarri is just paper talk nonsense.

I assume we were expecting a massive windfall from the Lukaku deal, which would have gone towards the insane Maguire fee. Looks like perhaps we might be progressing a swap deal instead and £90m for Maguire probably looks rather expensive suddenly.

Haha, just as I read posts above this and realised Dybala is asking for £450k odd a week, hoiw crasy is that...................heres JOhnny
Some get carried away. The reports being speculated are Dybala would want an increase in pay to what he's getting at Juve. He's allegedly on 7 million euro a year after tax and is asking for 200k after tax at United which would mean at 45% tax that would be about 360k gross. Still a lot considering we pay Pogba 290k before tax according to reports.

mejbri is widely regarded as one of the best talents of his generation. These are exactly the signings we SHOULD be making if we want to compete - we can’t keep paying £70-100 million for top players. The smart money is now in growing them yourself. The one good thing to come from these ridiculous fees.

Of course it is.

Again Sarri must know that he is not wanted by the Juve Hierarchy and they want him off the books.
