Great drive by Lewis. Absolutely hunted Max down. Absolute born racer.

Should have just taken the stop and trusted Max to have a good go at overtaking Lewis. Obviously easier to say in hindsight though. Fantastic drive from Hamilton, he was absolutely flying on those hards when he reduced the 10 seconds to 1 within just a couple of laps.

The Philosophy.
The good thing was that Mercedes had competition today but the track favoured Red Bull and Ferrari were nowhere near so there's clearly still a lot to do for us to see close racing consistently.

Great race in the end. Have to hand it to Merc and Hamilton. They are pretty unbeatable together. That is a team of winners. From the driver to the strategists to the engineers. Ferrari need a top top driver to give them direction to develop the car.

After that drive you have to put Hamilton up with Schumi and Senna in the GOAT list. Not only from just being fast, but you just know that he has helped develop that car in to being so fast like Schumi and Senna used to.

If interviews are to be believed, Vettel isn't that good at car Setup and stuff, which is what might be hampering Ferrari.

Yeah, but it's just sad that even a generational talent like Max cannot beat Mercedes. Just imagine what it would be like if Max had a car as good as Lewis'. We'd probably see historical battles.

A good point being made elsewhere is that if Red Bull had a competent number 2 there's a good chance they would have been withing touching distance of Hamilton and able to stop them from taking the pit stop gamble.

Lets hope they put Gasly out of his misery during the summer break.

Lando Norris has the worst luck, another bad pit stop. Every race something goes wrong for him that isn’t in his control.

Màx ànd Lewis are on a level of their own now. It's kinda eerie seeing Hamilton's heir racing him wheel to wheel for grand Prix wins. Have to enjoy this while it lasts. Sensational from both drivers.

Today I'm not willing to go as far as some of you. Strategy was more important today than usual.
Well they took a chance that you normally would not have the luxury of taking ( with the Ferraris being out of the equation). So yeah, strategy made the win possible, but Mercedes had the perfect driver to deliver the win.

It was the strategist which won it for Lewis. Without that stop, I don't see Lewis going past Max and if roles were reversed, fully expected Max to go past Lewis.

Only thing this race has shown is that Ferrari are absolutely woeful and Max in a stronger car would clean the field once Hamilton retires.

Great strategy call and the chasing down of Verstappen from Hamilton reminded me an awful lot of Schumacher at the same track in 98. Just lap after lap of qualifying pace.
Unreal.
