And after spending almost 8 months assessing and planning, we signed a guy from the championship who plays predominantly as a LW, a CB who we were looking at since last year by paying more than what Leicester were demanding last year, a winger converted FB who had 1,1 and half good to great seasons and who was the most obvious choice. We have failed to replace Herrera, who we knew was going to leave. We don't have a proper DM despite it being very clear that Matic is not good enough. We STILL have no RW. And our striker is about to leave and we are going to pay 88 mill for a player who is average at best.
So what was Ole doing all that time? And if Ole did identify the weakness, what was Woody doing messing around? Where is the DOF?

Take that Lukaku deal - it's the best offer we are going to get within 24hrs by a long shot. He needs to go, we cannot have him earning his salary for a full season sulking and causing disruption. Those bridges are burned.

With Lukaku likely to be sold before the English Deadline. It must increase the chances of a replacement being signed. If there was no intention to sign anyone else I don't think this deal would of been done 24 hrs before the deadline.
