We didn't concede a single goal from a counter-attack last season as well, which is pretty remarkable.fecking hell City only conceded 1 from open play since the end of Jan

Not so remarkable when you throw 'tactical fouling' into the mix.We didn't concede a single goal from a counter-attack last season as well, which is pretty remarkable.
Now that is shocking as I assume the majority of shots on target against City are from counters or are 2nd to set-pieces.We didn't concede a single goal from a counter-attack last season as well, which is pretty remarkable.
Iheanacho would have seen to that had he taken his chance, the twat.We didn't concede a single goal from a counter-attack last season as well, which is pretty remarkable.
This. Can we just scrap VAR? Why have they spent two minutes pouring over a video to determine whether or not a player's shoulder was a millimetre offside? The offside decision was brought in with the whole ethos of give the attacker the advantage if in doubt. If you can't tell for certain if the player is offside or not on first glance, then just stick with the original decision. It's so silly when they start drawing all these lines. It's not even going to be 100% accurate anyway, hence sticking with the original call makes the most sense and seems the easiest thing for fans to accept.
No it wasn't. That was something made up by commentators which has stuck. Can we just scrap VAR? Is it? I always thought if a linesman doesn't know he's told to keep his flag down i.e. favour the attacking side rather than make a guess that it was offside. No it wasn't. That was something made up by commentators which has stuck.
I swear I had an article on this, but I can't find it. The original origin of the phrase came from Rob Key and Andy Gray misunderstanding advice referees had been given before an early Premier League season. Assistant referees are now told to keep their flags down in VAR games. Is it? fecks sake that better not be true. The thought that all this time I've believe something to be true because of those two cretins. I can remember on the referee watch Dermot Gallagher does with SkySports he has definitely mentioned before the linesman is supposed to give the attacker the advantage if there's any doubt, although he often talks a lot of shite.I swear I had an article on this, but I can't find it. I think they will walk the league this sesson. They demolished Hammers away from home. They're ridiculously good.

And they made a good Spurs side look like a relegation level team. Dominated midfield, pressed Spurs to route 1. Spurs could'nt even get across the halfway line a lot of the time.
Usually in matches there is a 15-20 min window at some point in the match. Where the opposing team gets the run of play. Not vs Spurs, complete domination from start to finish.
The fact City had 30 shots to Spurs 3 tells the story. Most one sided game I've seen in a long time that ended in a draw.
city are very good at keeping the ball... like they can play the tiki taka if they have to. but i think spurs sat back and tried to play counter. it's insane intensity when you play city... they play as a team.I think they will walk the league this sesson. They demolished Hammers away from home.

For us this has come at as good a time as any, with Pep here we don't have the option to go for a quick fix like we have before so we have no option really but to build a team ready for 2/3 years time hopefully with Pep out of the picture.I wonder how Ferguson would have fared against Pep's City ? Their consistency is beyond belief, along with their performance levels. They very rarely have to grind out results.
I wish they'd f**k off
That's a little bit of an over-statement, because "complete domination" implies a total shut-out.I think they will walk the league this sesson. They demolished Hammers away from home.

Chelsea have it so easy with the media. No questions about Roman and his source of money. United become the top story over basically any issue because of the audience. Think there will be some feedback about the penalty stuff but it's only an issue because of the miss. After Ole's comments last night re penalty, can you imagine the widespread reaction if a Chelsea manager said something similar? Back pages of papers, pundits and forums would be having a field day blasting us for "out of control player power". Not to mention Ole is getting widespread praise for playing youth while Lampard is getting slated for doing exactly the same thing.
Yet apparently the media go easy on us.
Ole may aswell have just said he has no control over his players and the media haven't batted an eyelid, any even hint of player power at Chelsea and they jump on their highorse to unbearable levels.Chelsea have it so easy with the media. I'm surprised even you can try and turn that performance into a positive, it was the most one-sided draw I've ever seen. That's a little bit of an over-statement, because "complete domination" implies a total shut-out.
Yet Spurs did score two goals, away from home, neither of them lucky. How many other teams will score twice at City's home ground this season?
It's almost like that feeling we United fans had when Pep's Barca came about just about the same time we reached 2 CL finals in 3 years. Could have at least won 1 more CL!For you guys it must be the opposite, you've arguably got your best side ever and it's coinciding with Pep being here, must be infruriating.
Jesus christ Glaston, be real. We scored from a punt and a header from a corner with our only 2 shots of the game. It was a complete fluke of a result. That's a little bit of an over-statement, because "complete domination" implies a total shut-out.

he seriously would have struggled. city are expected to get between 90 and 100 points a season.I wonder how Ferguson would have fared against Pep's City ? Their consistency is beyond belief, along with their performance levels. They very rarely have to grind out results.
I wish they'd f**k off
Looks like a linebacker. The haircut doesn’t helpAdama Traore's physique is ridiculous. Doesn't look like a footballer at all
I haven't said that we deserved the draw. Nor have I said that City didn't dominate the game.Jesus christ Glaston, be real. We scored from a punt and a header from a corner with our only 2 shots of the game. It was a complete fluke of a result.
Not many, but not many will get as fortunate as we did against them either. We could barely escape our half, and were lucky that two of the only times we managed it we scored goals.
Had that happened to us, 100% guaranteed you'd be saying we hammered the fecking shit out of them. I remember you saying similar when we lost to United last season, and City were far more dominant than we ever were in that game.
It was complete domination. A team can score whilst still being completely dominated. Our two goals came from a long range shot and a corner. Our third attempt was a shot from the halfway line.I haven't said that we deserved the draw. Nor have I said that City didn't dominate the game.
I'm simply saying that their domination cannot be called "complete domination" - because we scored 2 good goals away from home. Neither of the goals were flukes … and they don't become "flukes" simply because we scored twice out of only three attempts.

Im not saying Spurs are a bad team, clearly they are not. What I am saying is that from my perspective, as a neutral observer of the match. You got feck'n rekt across the park, dominated to the point I was going to turn the match off until Lamela scored.I haven't said that we deserved the draw. Nor have I said that City didn't dominate the game.

Are long range shots somehow worse goals to score from than short-range ones? And what's wrong with a scoring a goal from a corner? It was complete domination. A team can score whilst still being completely dominated. Our two goals came from a long range shot and a corner. Our third attempt was a shot from the halfway line.
We got played with all game long. I'm fecking delighted we escaped with a draw but 9/10 times we come away with a battering on the scoreline.
If we did that to a team, there's no way you (or any of our fans) wouldn't call it complete dominance. for 95% of the game we couldn't get out of our own half.
So 30 shots to 3 is nothing worth mentioning? Are long range shots somehow worse goals to score from than short-range ones? And what's wrong with a scoring a goal from a corner?
In my book when a team concedes two good goals, especially when playing at home, they have not completely dominated the game. It's fine by me that you don't agree.
It was a punt, one that doesn't go in 99/100. And nothing is wrong with scoring a goal from a corner, but again .. you can dominate a team and still concede two corners that all game that they scored from. Are long range shots somehow worse goals to score from than short-range ones?
