Hugh Mungus is just a routine childish fake name. We would use it as kids to impress our friends if an authority figure asked for our name. Hearing a grown man use it makes him seem like a douche-bag but it's a huge fecking leap to go from that to accusations of sexual harrasment. If she gets so easily triggered by that sort of thing, why put herself in harms way by harrassing random men on camera?

Anyhoo, the general point here is that yer wan seems to be massively over-reacting to - at worst - a very mildly ribald comment from someone who was feeling harassed and under pressure.

I don't agree with @shamans on many things but the sort of hysterical over-reaction you see in that video - combined with the knee-jerk reaction to defend her from people who share her progressive politics - is absolutely increasing the influence of horrible toads like Ben Shapiro.

On a side note, I was just listening to (or all people) Derren Brown talking about politics on the Russell Brand podcast and he gave the most concise definition for right wing vs left wing ideologies that I've heard so far. If you're right leaning, your priority is "protecting the group" if you're left-leaning, then your priority is compassion for the under-privileged. When you put it like that conservative politics aren't as inherently evil as they get portrayed by the left. Although it's definitely a lot more self-serving!

He also reckons the right are more electable because they can appeal to a wider range of moral trigger points. Respect for authority, the need for public order, personal accountability and so on. Whereas the left can really only appeal to your compassion/empathy. So they're fighting a bit of a losing battle. Especially when the media (mainstream or otherwise) consistently feeds us a diet of fear and external threats. In that context you're far more likely to revert to finding a way to protect the group than look for a way to expand that group and keep adding new under-privileged members.
