I did not say we would get him. I said it is the only way we get Kane. Why would getting Poch get Kane?
Kane loves Tottenham, not Poch!
Pulling names out of the air, who have never played over here is obviously the right answer.Any of the following could be signed in January and will prove value for money:
1: Victor Osimhen (speed, finishing - although just signed for Lille in summer)
2. Donyell Malen (finishing, dribbling)
3. Vangelis Pavlidis (hold up play, plan B)
4. Duván Zapata (experience, strength, finishing)
5. Niclas Füllkrug (bench option, hold up play, shooting from range)
It's bizarre we couldn't find ONE striker option who would have improved us this season. There's lots with potential and ability beyond the major teams and common names.
TraoresWhich one? There's about 300 of them...
Demeble's are the Camara's and Sissoko's of the modern game...
Why hasn't he left them already, if this was truly the case?I did not say we would get him. I said it is the only way we get Kane.
The reasons:
1. Kane likes Poch and a manager he has worked under
2. A manager he has scored goals under
3. Probably knows Poch's ambitions
4. Kane would leave if Spurs do not challenge for trophies.
Other than that, we don't have any chance of signing Kane. We are worse than Spurs.
Do you want me to spell everything out for you? but I will do so anyway seing as you were happy with my earlier answersWhy hasn't he left them already, if this was truly the case?
Supposedly there were offers from clubs outside of Germany this summer and he said he didn’t want to go. He wanted to stay in Germany so that sounds like to me he is going to Bayern.Timo Werner
I know he was meant to go to Bayern this summer... but he hasn't, and we should have been all over that like a rash.
7 goals in 7 games so far this season.
Ole knew Lukaku was leaving from Dec. Yet the two forwards we were seriously linked with over the summer were Dybala and Mandzukic. Both of whom came about by chance and were us reacting to another clubs situation. That seriously shows a manager who has no plan, and probably one who is a bit overwhelmed by it all.Ole has spoken of the need for a striker to lead the line, but refuses to compromise on anyone not deemed as "the right" type of player for this club.
Noting the availability in the market right now, how it likely wouldn't change much between now and the summer, does anyone know of any good candidates?
I know Dembele is linked from Lyon. Lots of posts here are less than impressed with that link. But who is out there really? Does Ole even have a short list? Or do we need to hope Rashford/Martial play a blinder next season too

1. Spurs CHALLENGED for Champions League last year
2. They moved to a new stadium and as a captain he probably wanted to lead them out there given his love for the club
3. Spurs looked like challengers last season until Feb
4. This season money has been invested in the playing squad.
5. He is 26 now so he is getting to his prime age
6. He probably believed under Poch and the current Spurs team they could challenge this year.
I've never heard of any of them.Any of the following could be signed in January and will prove value for money:

You can't be serious. Right?Nobody. Martial and Greenwood are enough.

Why do people respond like this every time someone tries to create a well-researched post about player options? I understand it's not football manager. But it's also important to consider options beyond the usual Mandzukic and Dembele-style signings. I'm not saying any of these guys are an immediate long-term solution, but they'd be a valued addition to the squad, which we desperately need given our lack of spending on midfield and attack. My point was that United can improve significantly with just a little investment. This isn't football manager.
He may, I dont think him staying at Spurs is unconditional. But if he does leave, he is not coming here. An instant upgrade over Benzema at RM, they would throw money at him like confetti, and have a better chance of winning trophies.Kane won't leave Tottenham.
You have my word sir.
Both are good suggestions but given their age and how much the club has bandied about building a ‘young side’ I can’t see it happening. If we can't get our first choice (presumably younger) options, Edinson Cavani on a 2-3 year deal would be mint, IMO — maybe even in January if Paris Saint-Germain are willing to sell him for €20 million (contract expires in the summer so they might bite). Will turn 33 in the new year so he won't block the path of heir apparent Greenwood, a physical presence up top with good hold-up play, and a hard worker/presser with exceptional movement in or around the box. Alternate him with the young lads because he's not at prime fitness level any more and can't be counted upon as a regular starter, and let them learn from one of the best strikers of the decade. A big chunk of United supporters pooh-poohed the Ibrahimović deal but it actually quite decent, and Cavani could have a similar effect (he's by no means as charismatic as Zlatan but would still be a welcome addition to a team and attack that is bereft of high-caliber experience or leadership ability).
Would be uncharacteristic of United to sign him, though — we aren't known for being short-term wheeler dealers in the mercato. On a side note, João Moutinho's contract expires in the summer as well, and he, too, would be a shrewd short-term acquisition if we can't get our priority players (or are skint or choose to spend the bulk of our budget on other areas).
36 yo Jermain Defoe who joined Bournemouth in summer of 2017 and after playing just 8 games was loaned to Rangers?Defoe could do a job until the end of the season. Proven PL player.
We used to be good in the pastLet's go crazy and break the world transfer record for Kane.
We used to do that in the past, let's do it again.
Why do you want an ex United GK as a backup for striking position?Rashford with Lindgard as back up will do. That's 10-12 goals a season right there.
If you've researched them, fair play, but as is the case most of the times with posts like yours, with the names you mentioned, they are researched through FM.Why do people respond like this every time someone tries to create a well-researched post about player options? I understand it's not football manager. But it's also important to consider options beyond the usual Mandzukic and Dembele-style signings. Cos he would score more than our current strikers. Why do you want an ex United GK as a backup for striking position?
+ 1Mandzukic and Haland.
And Kane would?Has to be Kane. I don't think any other world class striker would come.
