Yeah, I wrote that too in a previous post somewhere. Not looking good for him, even when we try to be fair and objective.
Seems like suicide when you have such a weak squad like we do now. I fear it's only going to get worse too on the injury front, it's only October ffs.

For the first few games, and I mean first FEW games, we played well because the players were happy that Mourinho was gone. After the first few games we weren't playing well but getting results. It was a lucky run, not a run due to good team performances. Then the luck changed and we've been on a bad run of results and performances ever since.
Spot on. After those first 3 games, which were favourable in terms of opposition the football wasn’t good. Results definitely masked performances.

Has he really improved a single player since he came in? Being objective, considering who we have at the moment, who has played better since he joined?

Maybe McTominay at a push but you could argue that was his natural progression anyway due to his age. Everyone else has gone backwards.

Probably you can make a case for McT, but for everybody else, deary me..

Even his favorite players look clueless.

Rashford has probably taken 2 steps back in his development.

I can't!

Mourinho deserves the credit for rejuvenating Shaw and McTominay.

I think OGS found a role for Herrera but wasn't cool enough to stop him leaving. He ruined Lukaku. DDG, Pogba, Rashford and Lindelof are sporadic at best. Matic, Lingard and Perreira have regressed. Martial, Fred, Mata invisible.

I'm personally quite angry at how Lukaku was treated. OGS given a free pass because many fans disliked Lukaku's style, but that shouldn't mitigate OGS's mismanagement. He was a hardworking player and we needed his style of play within a high quality squad. To humiliate him with Rashford's promotion is some of the worst man management I've seen.

Its a difficult one - the owners are incompetent, the squad is poor. Its still not a case of someone coming in and a change of manager making us top dogs. And i dont like sacking managers. I've been all for giving Ole time.

the issue i’m starting to have, and whats been highlighted from injuries to some key players is this:

when i am watching is, i cant see any clear tactics, gameplan or style. If i could see one today and we lost i wouldn't be so bothered - i could acknowledge we didn't have the quality, playing mata and young and rojo etc, to get a result. But it was a shambles, just kicking the ball forwards in a vain hit and hope fashion. Dont seem to have any passing triangles. Even the pass and move stuff we used to try at sunday league training doesnt seem to happen.

we dont look coached i agree. I also agree we've a lot of shit players. But not relegation shit. Can see him gone soon

I can’t think of anyone except maybe McTominay. But the others have fall so bad that is hard to make a case.

I’m amazed that the transfer strategy has got away without much criticism. I keep hearing from pundits and the like that United are going in a different direction, we’re going after young British players like it’s a mind blowing new strategy that will take us back to the top.

City won’t be doing it. Liverpool won’t be doing it, Barce, Real? Nope. That’s our fecking grand plan to sign British talent? £200m down the road we’ll realise they’re overpriced and overhyped and change strategy again.

Don't care what anyone says about the owners Solskjaer's record is an absolute disgrace. He's making all of you who back his methods and standards look foolish. This squad is already the best set of players Ole has managed in his career. You look at Chelsea and Lampard has had a better imprint on his team in a few weeks than what Ole has in almost a year now for us.

If we’re not going to sack him, can we add to the training personnel. Someone who can run attacking drills or something.

Like i said we're strong at centre back.

So do you believe that James, Mata and Pereira are better than Almiron, Saint Maximin, Joelinton? Why other than they are wearing a red shirt?

Get over the Rochale result. SAF lost to Southend with Rooney and Ronaldo.
Terrible excuse. The reason why a single result against lower opposition is especially damning for Ole and not Fergie is because Ole is doing awful in every other match. Much different to one crap result sandwiched by brilliant performances. Stop ignoring the context around that Rochdale result.

The British talent argument appeals to those who like Rashford/Lingard/Ole.. "homegrown".

Given how Brexit went and how numerous Brits voted to keep Britain proud and pure, this is not a surprising strategy.

Unfortunately like Brexit it's not a winning strategy.

I never got those Fergie examples. Fully agree. Yes Fergie lost against many crap teams and had several awful performance but those were freaks and we were winning leagues and cups, not fighting for relegation ffs. This isn't a freak result. We have 27% win rate this season overall and are 2 points far from relegation zone. Ole's overall record with United with even the honeymoon period in is 47% win rate. Yet people still mention examples of Fergie era when we lose such crap games.

Complete delusion and burying heads in the sand this.

The main problem is definitely how the club has been run for quite a few years now. But there is no way we can accept the level of performances this season. I know the squad isn't great and imbalanced, but performances have been absolutely criminal.

You also have to consider Solskjaer's influences to having that idealism and the stem of it must come from Sir Alex who comprised a strong British team. The biggest problem for Ole though is there's a difference between the likes of a Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Keane, Ferdinand compared to the calibre of British young professionals now.

Sir Alex was also playing some of the best football in the league, so much of the youth successes came at the back end of the manager nurturing their talent. Every young player aside James has looked garbage under Ole. If anything, the only direction that will save Solskjaer's pathetic managerial career is bringing in older players who won't have to rely on his inept coaching implementations to win a game of football as they are seasoned. Why do we have a long term strategy under Solskjaer to bring in younger players if he's unable to nurture them. I actually think Mourinho would get more out of a younger inexperienced side than Ole.

Solskjaer record so far as a permanent manager in PL:

At Cardiff:
3 wins in 17 games.

At United:
4 wins in 17 games

Total:
7 wins in 34 games or 20% win rate.

This is Remi Garde, Dave Bassett, Steve Wigley, Chris Hutchings, Billy Davies, Alan Shearer and Slavisa Jokanovic territory now.

I've been slated in Reddit saying about this. The british fc nonsense thingy. Haha. I'm not saying that British players are bad but some of them are overpriced and overrated. I don't know what going to happen to this club. So sad to think about it. Hoping for some rich bloke to come and save us from this situation.

If he doesn't win in the next 6 games and survives the sack till then, I'm not entirely sure, but he'll have only Mick McCarthy in 05/06 Sunderland stint (7.14% in 28 games) and Paul Jewell (0% in 24 games) to beat for managers who managed to survive the sack for more than 20 games and put up numbers below 20% win rate.

That Brighton game at home might be crucial if he's to break some records.

I don't think he will be here post Liverpool. The situation will be very toxic and they will need to soften the relegation zone blow by sacking. His days in charge are numbered imo.

But the amount of negative records he put here will make Moyes and LvG look like Guardiola in comparison.

I feel so bad for Ole, so bad. Is like players betrayed him. When he was a temp, team played hard and everyone appeared to be energized. Then he becomes permanent manager and performances go to sh1t. What happened? Did he just forget how to manage the team after he became permanent manager? Did the team that performed so well while he was a temp didn't need a manager and just were winning games on their own? I just think once he became a manager players went back into mediocrity. I think the biggest problem is that Man Utd to most players is just a cash cow. They are there to milk cash. Most of them don't give a sh1t about Man United, Man United fans. Hell, most of them don't give a sh1t about themselves.
I see Ole there on the bench dying inside. All blame is on him, but there is something rotten. There is something so wrong with the culture within that team. Players come to the team playing amazing and then drop into mediocrity. Same thing with managers. What the hell is going on? I am not superstitious, but it feels like we are under some sort of a spell/curse.

I say let's endure this season and give Ole another season. Changing managers doesn't work. Maybe when example is set so people don't fear their job there will be shift in mentality within the team. Let's assess Ole based on his work habit, tactics, strategy etc... If that's really bad, then I am sorry but he has to go. But if he is doing his best but players out there are not executing the plan... Then players are the problem. There is old saying that great teams don't need a manager. Not a popular opinion these days, but can really all manager that come to Manchester United suck?

Actually I stand corrected:

There's also Mickey Adams, Aidy Boothroid, Brian McDermott, Chris Hutchings and Nigel Worthington.

Considering he has managed United and not a cannon fodder he's a shoe in for the worst PL appointment of all time.

He looks so lost and out of depth that no new set of players is going to fix our problems.

If we were seeing a style but lacked quality in the final end would be an entirely different situation, but nobody knows what exactly is Ole trying to implement except for general phrases like “fast attacking and pressing side” the attack looks completely uncoordinated, there are no training patterns shown.

Even in teams with such basic players as Norwich you can see what they want to accomplish and it has nothing to do with time, patience or getting the right players. Lampard has been at chelsea for a couple of months and his hand can al ready be seen.

Ole can be given all the money in the world, all the time he wants and still wouldn’t accomplish to get a style implemented simply because he is not good enough as a manager, thats the truth.

It’s United, we’re used to breaking records. Sadly, since SAF they’re all negative ones
Historically only a very few relegation fodders have let a manager stay for more than 20 games with a win percentage of less than 20%. Mind boggling how he's still at a job.

Opening myself to abuse with this but ill say it anyway. As a collective we're spirited and have no shortage of passion but we are also a bit lacking in brains.

Can anyone remember a manager surviving a run like this in recent history? Doesn’t seem to be that managers turn the form around anymore. I cant see us suddenly winning a load of games

Only we are capable of letting this pass.

He'll soon get a win or two and the club will pretend Ole's at the wheel again.

Out of curiosity, worked out Goals per game:

SAF: 1.84
Moyes: 1.68
LVG: 1.53
JM: 1.69
OGS: 1.45

Pretty damning. Where are the people who bombed Moyes and LVG and Mourinho over shit and boring football? We score less than under any of them now.

I'm personally quite angry at how Lukaku was treated. OGS given a free pass because many fans disliked Lukaku's style, but that shouldn't mitigate OGS's mismanagement. I think OGS treatment of Lukaku was disgraceful but worse than that it was amateurish and stupid if you going to rid of your best goalscorer because he does not fit the style of play you image you want to play, you keep him onside until you have lined up a replacement, preferable signed up a replacement.

Now we are linked with Callum Wilison a mid-table striker at best, worth 15m-20m which we will be asked to pay 40m for. Woodward is so desperate to bail out his disastrous choice as a manager he might pay it.

RVP was pointing out how lost Ole looked in that interview. I think he knows it’s not going to have a happy ending. To be honest, I find the whole thing so desperately sad. Whatever you want to say about Ole's shortcomings as a manager (and there are many,) there can be no doubt how much he loves the club. He just looked like a broken man in that interview, unwilling to throw his players under the bus (ala Jose,) yet completely unable to work out where to go next. I hate this happen to such a likeable character.

I think I'm the only person longing for Van Gaal.
I wouldn’t go as far as longing, but if we were going to end up with a “strategy” of relying on young players we’d certainly have been better off keeping him.

I do miss his pressers though. Sex masochism is much more entertaining than The lads tried hard.
