There is a real good chance this animal breaks Pele all time OFFICIAL goals record of 756 Ronaldo is on 696. All time International goals record along with the all time official goals record would be fecking mental.

In truth he should of got at least 2 goals today, his finishing was off.

He'll go to the States when he's older or the middle east. That record is toast

He might end his career with these stats.

Real Madrid all time goal scorer
Portugal all time goal scorer
CL all time goal scorer
International all time goals score
All time official goal scoring record.

That simply unreal. Greatest goal scorer the game has ever seen.

And I think he’s more than just a goalscorer, he is a force of reckoning that helps every team he is with.

Jose Rodriguez and Yannick Bolasie are starters at Sporting....BELIEVE ME you are doing better :lol::lol::nono:
I’m not so sure, we got a french pudding what’s always injured, an England hopeful what can’t really score and some under 17 lad that’s yet been tested. I think sporting are more organised than this.

I think it depends how long will he play until retired.

The all time official record is held by Josef Biscan in 1930s-40s. 805 goals in 530 match, absolutely insane stats. But no idea how the quality of football is like during that period, and how’s the Austrian league like. Ronaldo need to score 107 goals more. He may score another 75-90 goals for Juventus in next 3 seasons (let’s say he average score 25-30 goals per season), then it depends whether he want to retire when he is still at the top at 37, or rather will play in US to squeeze more money and promote his brand for few more years. If he play in US he will most likely break the record.

The international all time record is tricky. He need to score 16 more goals to match Ali Daei record, who has been scoring for fun against Asia Minor/semi-professional/part timers. I think he can do it in next 3 years. But it depends how many games he wants to rest during international break. He is going to be 35 soon, can’t expect him to play 50-60 games every year without any rest. Bear in mind he has been playing for over 1000 games at top level already in his career, most player are already totally done without reaching that many.

If he wants the record it's "only" 16 goals and I think he believes he can get it. Also to my understanding the all time official goals record is held by Pele with 756 goals? I think he will do 3 seasons at Juve an then play in the US where he will do what Zlatan is doing but probably better and keep banging in goals.

Unofficial record is held by Pelé, 1281 goals, including all the friendly/exhibition games. Although Arthur Friedenreich was said to be scoring 1329 goals (or 1239 goals) during 1910-1930’s, which is highly disputed as there lack of documentation to proof the figure.

But the official record is held by Biscan (805 goals), as follow:

1. Bican 805 goals
2. Romario 772 goals
3. Pelé 767 goals
4. Puskás 746 goals
5. Müller 735 goals
6. Ronaldo 698 goals
7. Messi 671 goals

Although there is chance Ronaldo breaking the record, there also chance for Messi breaking it as well, as he is 2 years younger and playing for a more attacking side.

Thanks for this! I read it was Pele yesterday but I guess I was mistaken. Makes it a little tougher to break now but still possible.

Reading more on Josef Bican, apart from scoring most official goals (805 goals in 530 games), its is also estimated he had scored at least 1468 unofficial goals throughout his career (no documentation). He is truly by far the best goal scorer in his time. Only thing is he belongs to the era which is around 80-90 years ago, simply no one today know how good he was, there's not enough footage we can find, and we have no idea what is the level of football during that era.

Sounds similar to Fernando Peyroteo from Sporting. I will leave some links if you got time on your hands and are interested. 544 goals in 344 games he was the main man in the famous "5 violins" from Sporting.

Very interesting read. Its seems legends playing during 30-40s era or earlier are generally not rated as highly as legends playing from 50's onwards.

10s-40s - Meazza, Josef Biscan, Arthur Friedenreich, Peyroteo (7/10, this era was so old and underrated, probably have to do with lack of media coverage, or even lack of football quality?)
50s-60s - Pele, Garrincha, Best, Charlton, Puskas, Di Stefano, Eusebio, Yashin (10/10, this was the era which created most legends, and of course we have Pele the GOAT there as well)
60s-70s - Cruyff, Beckbenbauer, Muller, Rivera (9/10, an era dominated by Cruyff and Beckenabuer, 2 of the most revolutionised/influential player of all time, plus a few good others)
70s-80s - Maradona, Platini, Zico, Rummenigge (9/10, Maradona, the GOAT was playing in this era, the highest peak football world have ever seen)
80s-90s - Romario, Baggio, Gullit, Van Basten, Maldini, Baresi (8/10, this is an era with no true GOAT but many football superstars)
90s-00s - L.Ronaldo, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Figo (8.5/10, similar as 80s-90s, we have many football superstars with real talent, but not quite reach the GOAT level career-wise)
00s-10s - Messi, Ronaldo (9/10, an era totally dominate by Messi and Ronaldo, who broke every record out there, and win everything in sight at club football, simply the 2 GOAT, but others are pale in comparison)

He'll win the CL with Juve in the next few years, come back home, win us the league after 20+ years and then get to 1000 goals while in his fourties.

Seriously though, don't think there's a chance he ends up playing in China or in the US. After his last few interviews I wouldn't be surprised if he retired when his current contract ends.

It was weird seeing him say what he said in the interviews as I am completely convinced he will play until Minimum of 38. I would sell my soul if Ronaldo came back to Sporting and won us the league after 20 years. Would be legendary:lol:

I think it has to do with the level of defending and quality of the game was so poor. I mean you might struggle to find a world class defender(s) in those eras up until the 70s or 80s.

Hi guys. Looooooong, like 4 years long time lurker, I've wanted to resist singning up, but you guys are are just way to funny and I love to see the (good) chaos in some threads here that I had to join in.

Great game by this guy tonight imo.

It's really astonishing how far apart in his game he is from his early days. His game is as simple as it can get for a footballer, a stark contrast to times when he over-complicated things.

His one touch handling of the ball is class, and honestly, his game is just pure class overall. When he dabbles in individual attempts, he usually gets them right, although he barely pursues that route. Then, apart from when he drops deeper to get some ball time in, he's switching flanks with precise passes, one touch passes with his back turned to goal, or great crossing overall.

But goddamn those one touch back to the goal passes. He's a master of it and he used this so much this game, and dictated tempo of the play by merely a single stroke of the ball, whereas others, and he himself in another time, take another approach to it. His counter attacking abilities are underrated, today these little flicks unlocked the counter attacking plays, and left Inter's defence unbalanced. He does it all, even chest passes which on more than one occasion really opened up plays, like against Barcelona in the SuperCopa in uh, 2017.

I'd call his game extremely effective. Today he had a fundamental part in Juve's 2nd goal (like did others too), with yet another incisive flick of the ball.

Remarkable transformation, quite the extraordinary, really.

Can't believe he'll be turning 35 years of age in less than 4 months time. Still looks young sometimes out there. Those short passes between him and Dybala are a beauty to watch. And his defending of set pieces was outstanding in this match.

He's performing better for Portugal in this decade than he performed in the 2000's
