We were a bit lucky with the VAR thing though, can't believe some people are saying it wasn't a foul we'd be incensed if that was not given against us. Heart was in mouth for the VAR check against Fred at the end

That's why we love football, a mere 15min break can totally change the direction of the match. They got nearer their level, we had to give a fair bit to work hard and dropped much of a threat.

We'd not been much of an attacking threat first half anyway, so it wasn't a huge drop off.

It was a good attempt overall, when most thought we'd be battered!

James was playing as a striker for some periods in this game when we had Martial and especially Greenwood on the bench. This is amateur-level management.

James and rashford hounded and pressed like feck from the front. Martial wouldn’t and didn’t do this, Greenwood, maybe would have.
I can’t fault how ole set up and have us play today, calling it amateur level management either shows you don’t know what you’re on about or you just like being dramatic

Sending out James and Rashford to press like headless chickens - when the rest of the team is backing off - is exactly the problem. It's not called a tactical plan. How many times did their back line experience any real pressure in the game? It IS amateur level tactics.

Pretty much how I feel about today as well. I would have snapped your hand off for a draw coming into it, especially once I saw that Rojo and Young were making up the left side of our defense. While drawing after being in the lead pretty much never feels like drawing after being down, there are still a lot of positives to be had from that game.
