Klopp refusing to give United any credit
Come on Jurgen, you were second best for most of the game.

This is more of his interview with BBC:

“We were good enough for a point. We gave Man Utd an opportunity to play the way they wanted to play with five at the back etc. They were hardworking. Our orientation wasn’t good enough. We felt under pressure when we weren’t and could have turned inside at some opportunities.

“We always play against the wall. We need to do better but it is how it is. I don’t think Man Utd can play like this if the other team doesn’t have the ball as much. We play very often against a team like this. Maybe we can do better. One point is completely fine. We carry on.”

I dare you to find a top team statistic that haves 25% possession at home after going up in the scoreline.

You make it sound as if what we saw was a normal game development. He sat back like scared boys, one thing is to set up to counterattack like we did on the first half and another thing is to shit your pants and park the bus like we did on second half.
We're a top team?

We're clearly a weaker team.

If you're damn naive to keep it on the front foot for 90 minutes, hope your players have a lot of illegal drugs to resist the fatigue.

Football is fecking simple isn't it? Just go on the front foot, hoping for the best to score 3 goals.

We can give out about him all day long and disagree with the tactics used but Ole got it spot on today.

They upped it the 2nd half and with the players we have and the ones we have there is no way we could go toe to toe with them , we would have been ripped to shreds if we tried.
They didn’t up it they got invited into the game and given all the momentum. Tactics up until then we’re pretty good but at that point he got it completely wrong.

There is middle ground between going toe to toe and just parking the bus. Poor decision by Ole sadly.

No, not Lisbon..Lisburn!
I wonder about people sometimes. They're either not particularly wise, or they have zero understanding of football.

We came in with rubbish form, we have a weak squad, we already had players injured, playing a team with 8/8

Yes we're all disappointed we let it slip late, but most are delighted we even gave ourselves the opportunity to get a win.

The effort in pressing and hard work was always going to kick in late on, just a shame it was a really sloppy goal.
That's a bit precious! We put in a great performance but here we are, United, very much the underdogs at home, game raising against our bitter rivals. It has almost become default now and people are clearly frustrated. It's a visceral thing, and while some comments are over the top, at least they are letting off steam in a relatively harmless way.

I mean, you're entitled to your opinion and all, but I think you need to watch the replay again, because you're seeing someone entirely different to what happened.
I did see it replayed many times and as i said, I think we'd be really angry if that was against us but honestly, I don't care, i'm just being objective. I'm not doing the 'top red' thing and i'm not being negative. This really was the best we could have played today, Ole got his tactics spot on given the gulf in quality between the players and we got a bit of luck which the performance probably merited. The players gave it their all but i never felt we had the quality to go and get the second.

Proud of the lads today.

Shame about the result although would have taken that before the game.

Feel positive again going forward but hope that doesnt get crushed again like every other game this season.

Rashford was like he was finally fit again , great to have him back.

Also great to have Martial back, hope can get some match fitness back

I don't have the responsibility to clarify words that are put in my mouth.
I beleive the expression is:

No. Learn to read.
No one put works in your mouth. I put what I interpreted, and asked you to clarify. That's literally the opposite.

Precisely why I asked you to learn to read.

Dont see what was great about the game, we played exactly like a mid-table side hoping to keep liverpool out and nicking a goal on the counter, most bottom half teams will be doing the same thing over the season.

Looking for the answers...
Neville and Sounness going at each other about strikers.

keane - “just go get Kane and be done with it. They’re in disarray, so go get him”

love it

Liverpool team is a title contender. How many games United won under SAF after maybe even worse games like this one from Liverpool. But they still took one point after horrbile performance from Old Trafford and they didnt even need to show anything special. They are good and they are really calm.

It's nothing new Kloppo. United have the same problem against teams who come to OT and defend deep with the 'low block' or whatever you call it. It's just the way it is.

Listening to the sky pundits now talking about it and Roy Keane with the best bit of commentary ever.

Gary and Sourness arguing about goal scorers.

Keane ”Just go get Kane”

Pundits all look at him, Keanes response

“I don’t know what you’re all staring at, just go and get him, they are in disarray”

Our level at the moment is that Liverpool shout be beating us comfortably by a goal or two. Their subs could fit into our starting 11. Everything was good today except for a lapse in concentration. Why the heck do you guys always moan.

Great first half performance today. Second half a bit of a damp squid with Ole deciding dropping back was the way to go. Can't really fault the players today for their attitude but it does beg the question why do we show up against the big boys and have so many gutless performances against the so called lesser teams?

And its nothing to do with lesser teams sitting back against us because they don't. Even Rochdale in the second half gave it a good go against us.

Its both great and not so great. The result, the effort, the fight was there but its only in comparison to where we are. It was like Leicester or Everton level. Having a good game and squeezing out a draw.

When we beat Barcelona in the champions league.
We had more than 25% over 90 minutes, but we no doubt hung on at the end. That's when we actually were a top team, rather than now when we're not.
I couldn't find any statistics for late on in the second half, but I doubt we saw more than 25% of the ball toward the end.

Quite a few on here would be happier if we lost...bet they were unzipping their trousers at the thought of a hammering by The Vermin. Sad to see.

I once stood next to Roy Keane for a photo. Scary or what? Ole is right to be disappointed at conceding from a cross along the edge of the six yard box...but why did we pull all our players into the box and invite this? Seen Mourinho team do the same, and don’t start me on Van Gaal!

Cos it's the Caff! Makes me think though, where would Liverpool be with our amount of injuries?

Football is not 90 minutes of attack you idiots.

There are phases of play, attack, defend, control.

If you're expecting us to attack/press for both halves, you guys basically have no clue about the modern game.

Draw a pretty great result. Not sure I've ever seen such a weak Utd bench, which definitely meant that players coming on would be *fresh legs* rather than offering anything else.

Today isn't the day to criticise Ole or the team. We were playing the European champions and the runaway league leaders. Some of the glory hunting muppets on here need to go and find another team.

Precisely why I asked you to learn to read.
At this point, I can only assume you don't know what the word clarify means. In lames terms:

'Can you explain what you mean, because it sounds like you're saying XYZ.'

To which you responded with:

'Learn to read!'
'Stop putting words in my mouth!'

Yeah, thats a logical response... Maybe take a few deep breathes, and remind yourself you're on a discussion forum, despite for discussion.

That point is not a bad point at all when we consider the team that we fielded and lack of confidence among our players. Still gutted we couldn't hold on till the end. Speaks volume when Manchester United’s best midfielder is Scott McTominay. No offense to the lad though. Had a very good game. Perreira however..

Utd were the best team first half. The best ive seen them play in 10 months. WTF happened 2nd half? Were we fecked ( though Ole was gonna have us the fittest team in the prem?) or was it lets hang on to what we got and we got what we deserved. We really need a ccoach/manager who knows how to win, as clearly Ole doesnt

Solskjaer's verdict
The manager has been speaking to BBC Sport:

“I wouldn’t say frustration because then you look more to the execution of the plan and the efforts of the players. Today is disappointment on the players’ behalf. They were excellent.

“You can see the fitness, we’re getting fitter and fitter. The players are disappointed in the dressing room which is a good sign. They’re not excited at a point against Liverpool. It should have been three.”

“Liverpool are a good team and pushed us back but didn’t feel they created too many big opportunities. It looked like we could have got a second goal on the counter. The cross should have been blocked or cleared. These things against good teams cost you - and it cost us two points today

“It’s a good performance to move forward with.

“The aggression, attitude and desire has been fantastic. The pressing, we’re getting better at pressing teams back. The fans were unbelievable.”

We played well, don't think we ever looked like getting a 2nd goal.

Felt Ole changing to more of a 5-4-1, James left and Perreira right, invited more pressure. We stopped pushing their fullbacks back, think it confused issues down our right and a lack of pressure on their cross for the goal.

It was better and nice to stop Liverpool. But we really need to start creating more, one goal just isn't going to win us many games.
