United worst away record March–August 1979 which was 12 games without a win. under Dave Sexton.

That win tonight has United in a very good position in the group. Performance especially in the 2nd half was awful from United. Lack of creavity in the side highlighted once more. Somehow kept a clean sheet when never looked convincing in defence and Maguire probably had his worse game in a United Jersey.

Move quickly on to Norwich next. I'd gladly take another 1-0 United win there

What else can we expect with Mata and Lingard in attack? No shots on target - logical and expected.

We got a win which is good, Garner and Williams played (Williams actually did well). Terrible in attack

Maybe as good as we did against Liverpool? With a COMPLETELY different set of players?
Yeah if we play with the same intensity and quality as we did against Liverpool we should beat Norwich.

We won a tough away game.

Gave Garner his debut

Gave Williams his start.

Big psychologically because it's not easy to win in an atmosphere like that, especially when we've not won an away game since PSG.

Happy, sort of.
Congratulations on being the only sane person in this godforsaken forum.

There was a moment in the first half when the ball broke from congestion in our own half on the left to Lingard and he took it down the right side and then inexplicably sent it back across the field to the congestion.

That's bad coaching. If your players don't know how to use the ball and positioning to shift play around. I'm sorry but in this day and age it's barbaric what I'm seeing with this United team. On par with the Moyes era.

Ok first half, very poor second half. Very good performances from Williams and Romero, but everyone else was pretty average. At least we have an away win!!

Still god help us at the weekend if we play like this.

Away win

Thought Jones actually played pretty well barring the odd head in hands moments . Crucial clearance at one point, needless corner given away in the other.

Btw what the hell happened in the defence in the first minute of the second half when it looked like one of our defenders flew into a challenge and nearly tackled one of our own midifielders??? Ended with Jones giving away a free kick near the edge of the box.

Williams did very well, Rashford came on and worked pretty hard.

Young still offers more than him in an attacking sense, so nah. Stop trying to rush all these youth players in when they're not ready, it doesn't do them or the team any favours.
He's good enough, so he's ready

Playing with Lingard and Mata is an absolute disaster. Two nothing players who very occasionally pull off a great pass or shot - but over the last 12 months, you can count this instances on your fingers!

I don't want to look for excuses for Maguire tonight, as I thought he was poor, but I think even the GOAT VVD would've struggled to carry Jones and Rojo who blindly give the ball away for fun.

Williams the only real positive.

Positives:
- Kind of wins which are useful when you're struggling for form. Hopefully helps build a little more confidence in the players (would be a disaster if we lost).
- Players returning from injury got a run out and we gave a couple of youngsters some valuable first team minutes in an intimidating atmosphere.
- 7/9 points is good and ultimately staying in Europa League is our best shot at getting something meaningful out of the season.

Negatives:
- Still hopeless when it comes to scoring goals from open play
- Players hiding. Extreme lack of cohesive play.
- Calamities like Jones and Rojo getting minutes due to horrible squad depth
- 1 shot on target in the whole game is pathetic considering the calibre of opposition

An away win finally! Eh yeah, that's about the only positive I can think of. Top of the group half way though. Faced the better 2 teams away from home already so we should be good to progress from here. That's a pretty low standard though. We should be walking this and we're struggling badly...

Didnt watch, didnt care.

Not a great thing to say but this mediocre rubbish we put on week in and out is destroying my love of the game.

France - can't win anything with Swedish turnips
We won.
So we've drawn with a team that hadn't even drawn in 17 matches and won away to a team that hadn't lost at home in Europe for 11 matches.

First half was better, second half started slowly and got worse when the two subs came on - how Lingard and Mata stayed on I'm not quite sure.
Changing shape and playing Lingard as a false no.9 player after Martial went off was a disaster.

Williams MoM with his enterprise and energy. Garner very quiet. Maguire looked like Bambi on ice but the pitch looked awful.

A win is a win. Builds a bit of confidence in the lads. Martial gets a goal after his injury. I'm fairly happy.

Our goals per game this season:
4 1 1 1 1 1 0 1 1 0 0 1 1

Impressive really. 13 goals in 13 games.
I put 111110110011 in a binary-to-text translator and apparently it translates to "û".

I can't wait to see where this takes us.

We got a win. Cheer up.

Feck me, can never satisfy caf.
The Caf seems fuller with idiots that ever before. The players did ok. McTominay did pretty well. Pity some of the little moves in attack didn't come off. However I do go along with the criticism of tactics, I don't think Ole can coach attacking football. He can emote attacking football. He can play it, talk about it, but....

*Culture* blah blah *identity* blah *British* blah blah *Effort* blah.

Zero shots on blahing target against another dud team.

Thanks but no thanks Ole. This culture is the most boring insipid football I've ever seen.

Lingard moves into trouble and is a liability
Why don’t we just agree that they are both vile players

I gave up my season ticket 2 years ago and said I wouldn’t go back to a single game until Mata leaves. It boils my blood to see him on the pitch drifting around like a pensioner playing walking football

I’ve kept my word....still waiting...

Really disappointing performances from the senior players - Maguire, Jones, Rojo, Mata, Lingard. They should be giving their wages to charity if they had any dignity.
