Norwich are bottom of the league and flooding goals. I believe any manager will do whatever they can to get points. Adopting a more defensive setup against a team that are clueless in breaking down teams that sit deep is very logical.
I agree that Norwich might do this, but then they are not going to change their plan because Ole goaded them in a press conference.

Anyone who thinks he has the mentality to run this club after those pathetic comments is officially delusional. Worse than Moyes. We aspire to be Norwich.

Under a tree.

No, but its doesn't hurt trying, unless you have to deal with all the pedantic fans. Wenger always tried to goad teams in the presser into playing a open game

Would love to know the context of that question. Was it asked immediately after the journo had brought the Norwich win against City? If so, then this is a reasonable response, IMO. They also made a game out of it when they played Chelsea back in August. They obviously raise their game when the big teams roll through. City probably lost because they took the game for granted.

Agreed. They will sit deep. Very deep.

Think people need to get a grip. Ole's comments about stopping Norwich and us having to be at our best is reality. It's actually a very good sign in my opinion because he was teetering on delusion earlier with how he was happy with some of the performances. Maybe now they'll actually start putting some focus on the real problem areas.

Right now we have zero reason to be confident just because we are Man United, we can even come in sub par and win. Not that we shouldn't be fighting like mad every game but, more so now than ever we need to.

I’m utterly flabbergasted that there is even a debate to be had on this anymore :lol::lol:!

The Ole supporters are like a **** these days. They’re akin to Scientologists. Everyone but them knows their beliefs are total and utter poppycock, but no matter what you say or do, what evidence you show them to prove their fantasies wrong, they will never ever think anything different. It’s their way or the highway. Oh and anyone who doesn’t believe them should be condemned to hell, or something like that.

The Olés are coming out from the Leicester fans, by the way.
Even Leicester supporters want to get rid of him.

Haven't you heard? it's pain now, for a brighter future.. because under exactly the same setup that overseen so much crap, we are apparently 'building something' just now.

Exactly. There some weird notion that to expect more from the club makes you impatient & ‘plastic’.

There’s no excuse to be as bad as we are.

It’s more the other way.

I’m just happy for him to be given more time, the Ole out crowd want him fired with no real plan after that but sacking him will solve the shit squad, shit CEO and shit owners overnight

Leicester put 5 past Southampton on their pitch, the same Southampton we drew 1-1 against. Great isn't it.

That old crap, been hearing this for ages, the bottom line is we are terrible, not all Ole's fault for sure, but how we can be expected to get behind a 'project' built on quick sand is beyond me.

I remember Moyes being slaughtered for saying m, “we aspire to play like Man City”. At least City were comfortably
better than us. Now Norwich is our level

Said in a different thread mate. The guy has my admiration. I hate him. But I've gone beyond anger into bitter admiration because he is so fecking masterful at what he's done. Doing this to Everton fans would be admirable. Doing it to United fans is a level of spin and manipulation never seen before among sports fans.

It is an absolute masterclass and I have to have some kind of admiration for that.

Well done you absolute cnut. Well done.
The fact that he is still in office after a consistent run of failures in the football department shows the priority of our club. We are reduced to hoping the club takes a financial hit for him to be replaced but as long as we have these owners, the next one to replace him will just have the same financial priorities. We need owners who are football focused

Leicester smashing 10 men saints. We barely could create anything when they went to 10 men. Just shows how standards have dropped massively.

What a silly analogy.

Are United better than all the other teams that lost to Liverpool cause they killed their winning streak?

We are not better than anyone, we are one of the worst teams in the league.

Brendan Rodgers is a much better manager than Ole, though.

He's a bit of a joke character for rightful reasons but his managerial prowess isn't bad at all. Anyone who says otherwise has an agenda against him as a person which again, can be understandable, he's a prat.

He almost won the league with Liverpool playing some of the most swashbuckling, mouth-watering football the league has seen. He dominated with Celtic in Scotland - almost record-breaking stuff. Granted, it's Scotland. But what is Ole's big achievement? Yep. Norwegian football. The Scottish league looks like the PL in comparison to the Norwegian league.

Rodgers is much better. He has a good squad but not really better than ours, about equal I'd say more or less. We may have a slightly better squad. Ole won 1-0 in our clash, granted, but that means feck all really. If we're taking things on face value, Roy Hodgson is better than Ole right? And if the answer is yes, he needs to be sacked on the spot. Yep, didn't think so.

We’ve lost 3 league games in 9. Doesn’t make us one of the worst, it’s about par for what we did under all the other managers since fergie, did you want them all sacked under a year in charge?

Can someone explain to me how many new players Rodgers got to implement his philosophy? Apparently Solksjaer needs 5 new players.

Don't bother mate. It s useless trying to argue with some people over here. They ll use any incident and twist every bit of news to suit their agenda.

Agreed.

Yeah, Ole currently isn't good enough, but no need to try and use every single event that happens in world football to argue that point.

The thing was they weren't at the time. We won the league quite handsomely just a few months prior. Their football was more attractive than ours, yes, but we still finished 1st by a large margin.

Then Moyes came in and instantly lowered the standards.

Yeah but they were better during the season, he said those comments around March

Oh, my mistake.

I thought that comment from Moyes came after losing 4-1 at the start of the season rather than the return fixture where, at which point, everything had just gone to pot for us.

That midfield of Maddison, Ndidi and Tielemans would probably walk into our team.. sadly.

The Caf has been taken over by idiots it seems.
Tbf everywhere you find these types. I have followed United for more than 30 years. In amateur football you also have them. A couple of bad results and you see the village idiot screaming for the manager to get sacked.
But over here, there s a high concentration if them

I think the biggest indicator is that Rodgers tweaked the team just a little bit and the team is playing more expansive yet still solid shape at the back. He didn't completely change the system/tactics and does switch his central midfield options according to opposition, but they all function very well (CBs, fullbacks, central midfield, attacking midfielders and Vardy).

Ole drifted away from something that worked really well. Whether or not it was sustainable longer term, maybe, but I think he's missed a massive trick by not going back to 3 center mids.

A couple?

You mean six months of shocking football with nearly every unwanted record smashed. Abysmal away form which we couldn’t even beat one of the worst team in prem history in Huddersfield and losing to Newcastle who have the second worst manager in the league after us.

Every one of them would.

Maddison even, over Pogba. More consistent, young and 'gets the league', wouldn't be stropping etc. He's like the epitomy of an Ole Yella signing/player. If Maddison was here, he'd be our Pogba over Pogba.

Ndidi and Tielemans against Scott and Fred/Pereira/Mata/Lingard is like comparing those same players to League 1 players.
