Indeed. But if you remember at the time the excuse for Moyes and from Moyes was that the squad was rubbish and was lucky the year before.
 I remember now. He then got wind of the excuse and used it in a press conference "even Fergie would struggle with this lot" or something similarly preposterous. SAF even came out to defend the squad he left him after he was sacked

Edit: found it

“If Sir Alex were here this year it would be difficult for him as well and I’m sure he’d agree,” the United manager said.

“People are aware there’s a squad that is ageing, so it would have been a tough season for whoever was in charge of United this year. It could have been the case no matter what.”

Further edit: then SAF clapped back with this gem

"You would have thought that I had left 11 corpses on the steps of a funeral," he wrote in his new book, Leading . "It's hilarious."

Bobcat, I agree with you on most of the points but I still do not think Martial can hold the ball. He may be very good and was very good when Jose played him alongside Zlatan in a very few games.

I want to believe in him but we're so shit to watch. We might still win this game with a moment of brilliance but we rarely look capable of creating a chance.

 at the ones who were getting giddy over beating Norwich and a weak Chelsea team because of two set pieces. We're so shit to watch.

Games not over yet, in those conditions we have played well on the back of a few decent performances in a row. I'm not going to forget all that because of one, rather soft, goal. If we come back in the second half and take this game then I can forgive that moment of sillyness.

Well done loaning out Smalling. Genius this guy is.
Give over, everyone has wanted Smalling gone for five years. He has five good games in an easier league and all of a sudden he’s the best defender we’ve ever had.

Morons did, I agree. Anyone who actually watches games knows that he has been United's best defender for at least 5 years by a mile.

1 step forward 2 steps back.

Creating chances in free play? Hahaha good joke. We might as well just lump it out for a throw in every time we bring the ball into their half.

Unfortunately missed most of the 1st half. Only saw about 10 mins of it. How did we play in said half?

This thread has become a running joke now.

It's been as quiet as a mouse right up to Josh King's goal. Now they're flooding out of the woodwork to blame Ole for a defensive error.

Forgive me for believing some of you are genuinely hoping we lose, just to prove a point.

I would agree, but it speaks more about the quality of our defenders than the quality of Smalling. He’s better than Lindelof though.

There is nothing to prove anymore, everyone knows Ole is not good enough and knowing that a legendary win against a mighty Norwich probably bought Ole much more time makes me sick.

Toxic fans just hate him and want him gone. Part of me wants him sacked just so I can stop hearing from these idiots all over the internet. Said it for years, this is the chickens coming home to roost for these “fans”, they’re getting what they deserve.

We're not really blaming Ole, are we? We're saying that individual errors are a bit too frequent to be anomalies, which is the usual argument from the positive Patties. "Well it's just individual mistakes, it'll sort itself out".

United have not yet come from behind with Solskjaer as a permanent manager to even rescue a draw. Last time United came from behind to win or draw in all comps was 02/03/19 when we beat Southampton 3-2 from 0-1 down.

So you’d rather fans of the club suffer, than United do well?

Actually thought we started well but faded. Had we went in at HT in front that would have been relatively fair. Same issues though, we look really poor in the final third.

"No Martial" was the excuse over the past few weeks. What's the excuse now?

That was aimed at a very specific group of posters.

You were not among them.

I have not changed my opinion just because we won last night. His set up is wrong because we do not have anyone playing up front who can hold the ball up. Even Martial, though he can dribble is not a player who can hold the ball. This means the only option is counter attacking and if it does not work then we get fecked.
It is only his fanbois who had a quick cameo, but 60 mins in and we look as poor as ever. So they will disappear again

I posted before we conceded because I see 0 improvement in our play. We've conceded again like we do every game even though our manager spent £130m on our defence. Pathetic to be honest. Can't score and can't stop conceding.

:lol::lol: No coming back for Moyes after SAF response.

But from our fans base I see many similarities between the Moyes season and now. I remember Moyes would get a win or two, and the Moyes in crowd would come out attacking the plastics and talking about corners being turned.

United has the youngest team in the prem. If they are ready, they'll play. Latest example being Williams. It's as if you don't actually watch the games. Regarding expectatons: It's delusional to believe that "a whole summer" is enough to undo the mess inherited from the last three managers, implement a new style, change the mentality and mount a title challenge. No one would be able to do that. Expectations are top 4 and hopefully a cup.
So you dont think seeing a little bit of improvement should be the minimum? And again, why the hell do you think we make top 4?

Management 101. Better to have a 8/10 well balanced midfield and a 5/10 defence then a 9/10 defence and a 5/10 midfield.
