Supporting someone that is clearly out of his depth doesn't make sense in football. Football is emotional, but also results and performance driven and clubs aspire to do their best. That is the nature of the game and the nature of Manchester United. Fans seem to clash over that. I would be fully supportive of Ole if he showed some nous and talent, but he doesn't. He wont be here in a year's time, support or no support. He just isn't good enough. It isnt even a gamble, it is suicide at this point. There will always be rational thinking and performance evaluation, even if some fans cant accept it due to their extreme romanticism.
Every manager gets my support for the first season, no matter the circumstances, but if he isn't capable of performing to an acceptable degree and improving after a while in the second season, he should be off. I can distinguish between an ex player and the current manager. We all knew the chances were slim of an ex player turning out to be a great manager, and if Ole doesnt turn it around in the coming weeks by a miracle, he will be done. Going by what we see and what he says, it doesnt look like he knows how to make it, which is fine. He tried and it didnt work out, we move on. No shame in that.
