If you don’t understand why Ole is a gamble worth taking… you’re doing football support wrong

We said we would make a decision after the season ended. Why didn't we just stick to that?'
That happens when the club is run by imbeciles. People like Woodward deserve a statue (outside our rivals' stadiums that is)

What is there to 'get'? Look, let's keep him in the hope he'll miraculously turn into a great manager. Is that it?? Or is it the fact that he was well loved as a player?? What is it??

Some people don't get football. It's obvious from reading this forum. What could possibly be controversial about that?
I don't get football either. I just like watching my team entertain.

I am a proud Wrong Football Supporter and, if it means displaying independent, critical thinking abilities - I will forever be proud to wrongly support football if it means calling out dogshit management when I see it.

The Sockpuppet will be gone by Christmas, as a lot of us suspected he would be in the summer.

Well that's just pathetic. Imagine expecting to be entertained by a football team you support.

What next, you want them to win games? Score goals? Not concede goals?

Shame on you.

Indeed. I grew up watching Big Ron's United...and they could *spit* entertain. Sure they were awful in equal measures but it wasn't as sleep inducing as it's been post Fergie. How has it come to this.

Give him this season and make some noise in the transfer window. It’s so painfully obvious that many of our players are just not good enough. I think a lot of managers would struggle with us.

Ole might not be the one, but it’s to early to conclude for me.

4 wins in 14 not enough. Two of the three players he has signed are not pulling up trees either. They seem to be getting worse every game.

If you don’t understand that Fred & Andreas can’t play in a CDM2, you’re not doing football management right.
If you do it a week after the same tactic failed miserably against Sheff United, you’re absolutely useless.
I'm Ole In and i can agree to this. Absolutely clueless on why he just played the same combination that severely flopped last game.

Well this OP was written by the casino's communication team. The current situation is great for them.

You can’t polish a turd mate. Some might keep trying but only time isn’t enough when you are lacking the basics.

Actually to be fair, the only way the op makes logical sense is if he's gambled his mortgage on Ole being a success here.

You might be right in the end mate. We need new players and I want to see Ole under better circumstances. Time is key for me.

From what has been said and done we really haven’t tried the young and up and coming manager with fresh ideas and continental approach. Nagelsmann, Rose, even Ten Hag.

That kind of rebuild I think many will enjoy and that is like to see.

Yep it’s just so much wasted time. Another season without top 4 when it was so easily attainable. Why are we always reactive rather than pro active?? We’re an absolute joke & don’t deserve top 4 thinking Ole is a good enough manager- it’s arrogance to be honest

You assume he'll have better players. Our recruitment history suggests otherwise. For example, I don't think we'll get him a midfielder in Jan.

The honest sad truth is, that the fanbase are the biggest culprits for that. I think they egg and corner an already passive board, into doing nothing.

I would love Ten Hag. If it don’t work out with Ole, as can very well be the case, he would be my number one.

if you think ole is a risk worth taking.. you are deluded.. matter of fact.. you're just as stupid as the board who runs this terrible club. its easy to say this squad isnt good enough. It's probably true that many of them arent.. but if you actually think this squad has less talent than the vast majority of teams we lose to.. you're a fool.. if you cannot see that we are tactically out done in nearly every game.. you're a fool.. if you cannot see that our players have no idea what they are suppose to be doing than you're BLIND. ole sits on the sideline and does nothing while watching our players make continuous mistakes. How often do you see james running down the flanks never cutting inside because hes always crossing it yet no one has clued in our players to get the bloody box for the cross which is always going to be swung in. we see james cross the ball to no one in the box and ole cant get off his butt and yell at rashford and martial to MAKE THE BLOODY RUN after this deep into the season its the same shit.. how has this not been addressed?? ITS BAFFLING!!! the only time ole gets up is when we score a goal and he yells useless stuff like "come on" keep it up" He alsomakes terrible subs.. he makes them late.. when we have momentum he makes us defensive.. when we take a lead we give it up ALWAYS nothing is improving.. we are terrible.. we are among one of the worst side in the league.. we would struggle in the championship under ole!! hes a terrible manager!!! one of the worst in england right now. our board has chosen to back the worst manager in our history after sacking LVG and jose. the fact they even gave him the job is baffling.. there is absolutely no reason to give him the job before the season ended last season.. ABSOLUTELY NONE!! its actually so mind numbing how stupid the people in the board room are.. its maddening that these people are making big money being this stupid.

sorry for the rant.. its probably poorly written but i am fuming at the state of this club.. the stupidity of its fans and its board.. lukaku should still be here.. we want pogba to stay but havent given him anything close to the team or manager that he deserves to play along side.. and the moronic fans blame him for our woes. even arsenal have pulled the trigger quicker than us. you have players like tielemans bruno fernandez available in the market and we pass em up. we lose lukaku felliani herrera sanchez (was crap) and replace them with absolutely nobody but spend 80m for maguire.. to loan our smalling who having the seaosn of his life its sooo frustrating.

We had better players Ole allowed them to go without replacing them and was happy starting the season with the squad we have despite knowing Pogba wanted to leave and an injury or 2 would cripple us, this is all on Ole I’m afraid plus giving him more time and money and the fact he has no record of doing what’s being asked of him is imo a bigger gamble than appointing him permanently in the first place. I don’t see an experienced manager or even a decent manager starting the season with the midfield in the weak state we did under Ole it’s what’s costing us now as was totally foreseeable.

The players aren’t good enough for a title challenge, that much is obvious, but they’re not bad enough to come close to justifying the job he’s doing.

Right now Ole supporters are starting to look as a sect, not guided by any facts but by faith, blind faith and as a sect they are willing to defend their leader no matter what.

I'd prefer cult.

The cult of "establishing a culture" and blah-blah United Way and handwavey "he needs time" baloney.

Keeping Solskjaer around isn't a gamble, it's a sure thing - we all know exactly where this is going.

Why should Ole get more time? Why does Manchester United have to give managers more time than any other club in world football?

Sir Alex Ferguson was in the job for so long because we were consistently winning trophies or being very close. We were always competitive. That is the only reason he was never sacked and replaced.

Simply giving a manager time doesn’t mean things will get better. There is no factual evidence this is the case.

If Ole had a track record of Klopp or Pep I would certainly give him more time but he doesn’t. I was willing to give Mourinho more time because of his track record and us finishing 2nd in his second season.

Ole doesn’t have a track record of success, he’s weakened our squad whilst spending £150m on 3 players and results on the pitch are getting worse. I don’t understand how our fan base is so split on this still.

I dont think thats true. Ole saw what he brought to the team so he was probably losing plenty of sleep when he realized he was not going to be able to replace him. Our spending this summer was only 90 million net. It should have been closer to 200 considering all the holes in the squad
The club has to realise it can’t get their main targets every single time. We need to be smarter. There is no need to spend £200m every single summer if we took an opportunity to get players out of contract, find players with cheap buy out clauses, taking the chance on known youth prospects. How we allowed Sancho to go Dortmund is beyond me. What were our local scouts doing?

What you don't get mate is that it's the manager's duty to create the right circumstances and he has failed at that. We all know that a few of our players aren't good enough to win or even challenge for the title but they surely are good enough to win more than 4 games in 14.

Today Ole can say he didn't have any midfielders to play but he always knew that he was thin in midfield. So why didn't he try to play one of the defenders as DM? I think Astana was a perfect opportunity to try Jones or Tuanzebe as a DM. We know that Jones has done it before and we needed someone to tidy us over the past couple of games and we have dropped 4 points as a result.

The thing with proper managers is that they see these things in advance and make preparations. Solutions to squad problems don't always lie in the transfer market, so what do we do if Pogba and McT don't return soon? Walk blindly towards relegation?

Espionage never tasted so salty.
I think looking at it objectively you can't arrive at any other conclusion than Ole ain't the guy.

Recruitment is still our no. 1 priority for me but I think Ole has pretty conclusively displayed he doesn't have the experience, tactical nous or motivational skills to really do the business.

I think he'll get the year and I'd be amazed if we weren't already sounding out summer replacements but the constant excuses and rivalry amongst fans is so tiresome. That article is utter hyperbolic nonsense.

Tough one for him because it is such a poisoned chalice and the squad does need serious investment but if you are dropping standards so low as to absolve what we're seeing this year then I think you're a bit mad.

I get wanting to give people time but I think that has go be earned and it ain't been for me, by a stretch.
