Eternally 6th

Wasn't expecting a win but thought Everton might've gave us more to worry about.

We don't have the quality to hang in the the top 4 yet. Not a surprise to see Spurs get the job done.

Have said when we were bloody awful this team can improve and have a strong finish in the second half of the season, we've seen that start to happen, we're now back to being a more solid top 6 team.

Deserved to win. How was that goal given? It was a flying punch in the face. Clearly affected his ability to be able to punch the ball away. Baffling.

However, frustrating overall that we couldn't make better choices in the final third. Greenwood is now pushing for starts. He makes goalscoring look easy.

For all the posters that are going to piss and moan all week until our next performance, just accept that these results are going to happen. It's part of the evolution of the team. We need a couple more really good players
I want your composure and sense of calm. I can admit I am pretty reactionary, this results frustrates the crap out of me and every time we seem to turn a corner it ends in disappointment.

It's like having an abusive partner who repteadily promises to be better but never does.

And that's the criticism of Ole. He absolutely deserves credit for getting results against the bigger teams, but he deserves criticism for his inability to break down a team that defends. Just can't do it.
Noooooo.... you got it wrong. Every win, few as they may be, is a win for a Ole. Every defeat... the players are crap. A manager doesn’t even have to throw the players under the bus when it’s done for him and he’s Immune

I dunno, we can moan about that all we want but De Gea is still at fault there, for me. If he’s stronger there he gets somewhere near the ball and either punches it away, or gets properly cleaned out and the foul is given. As it is he hides from the ball and makes the refs mind up.
Was meant to write a longer reply but didn't have time.

If the refs did their job we'd win that. Just because you play badly doesn't mean you deserve to drop points through the wrong call.

Nothing new happened today, just the same old issues trying to break down a solid wall of defense.

Its the same old problems, we lack a proper number 10 and need to play a proper number 9 up front.

Rashford and Martial go hiding way too often when teams give them no space to run into.

These two just lack the technical ability to overcome this.

Either play Greenwood up top and try Martial as a number 10 and if that dont work then buy players that will make it work.

Martial really is playing for his United future imo, hes fast becoming a luxury player without the luxuries.

Disappointing result really, but nothing we haven't come to expect from a young inexperienced team. Posters moan about almost every player within the team, but where you have inexperience, you will get these fluctuations in form. We still probably need a Vidic type of player in central defence (Koulibaly?) definitely a solid midfield player (Can?), a creative midfielder (Maddison/Fernandes/Odegaard?)and a striker who can poach goals from anywhere in the box (Haaland). I think we may well pinch a top four spot, but we seriously need to strengthen in January. I support Manchester United whoever plays for them, Jones, Shaw, Rojo, Fred, Baillie Lingard, Mata even Matic. They all play for the club I have followed for 50 + years, and even though I sometimes don't agree with the team that is picked (even Fergie's teams), I will support them and hope they win. I stopped watching United under Van Gaal (some of most uninspiring, dull boring football I had ever seen) and also under Jose towards the end of his tenure, but I understand that Ole is trying to get United back to the free flowing attacking football that many supporters remember from the past, this will take time, and a change of personnel, so give Ole the time to get the players he wants, and get them playing, then judge him on those results. Too many fickle fans on here though.

7 from 9 in the last 3 fixtures. We would have been delighted with that beforehand.

I'm also frustrated at this result. I wanted a win pretty badly today. Everton had a couple of menacing forwards fired up today, and also defended pretty well and scored an incredibly fortunate goal, the sort that VAR was supposed to stop happening.

Cant feel too unhappy with the performance though. It felt like United of old chasing a game in the second half, just without the same individual quality that we needed. We will get better. We are getting better.

I really hope Pogba comes back and becomes that player that provides that moment of quality that will turn this type of draw into a win.

We’re simply better against top level opposition. We struggle so much to score against “lesser” clubs.

The shooting is frustrating. We had 5/5 shots on target vs City and look at the difference. Today the shooting was erratic, we need to start hitting the target with regularity. Look at KDB’s first goal today, brilliant and clinical. You just know if that was us, no matter who it fell to, the ball would have ended up in the stands. As so we’d lament more missed chances until the opposition inevitably takes theirs.

Really disappointed at the performance. Passing wasn’t as slick as it was against City and Tottenham and the finishing was pretty poor. Everton were really up for it, so well done to them for turning things around. Felt like they wanted it a little more, particularly in the first half.

Only positive is seeing Greenwood get another goal. So happy for the lad. Makes me feel so proud of our club for giving the youngsters a chance. Just need to supplement it with better quality and experience.

And you know this because?? Are you in direct communication with him or United staff?
Yep I was chatting to Paul the other day and he told me he couldn't be arsed here and wants to play for Real Madrid.

Rashford is not very intelligent but looks motivated, which is definitely good.

Ole should stop his obsession with Martial and give Greenwood the starts he thoroughly deserves. Recently he is the only one whom the team can rely scoring. Even if he is very young, still pressure and responsibility will make a man out of him quicker as he got the talent.

James needs better coaching about crossing. Sometimes he runs and then just blindly shoots the ball across, oblivious to his teammates' positions. A liitle bit of good coaching and he can be lethal.

AWB is solid as usual.

I've seen them given, but I don't blame the ref there. Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. If we had late winner ruled out for that at the other end I'd be pissed.

I don't often quote Graeme Souness, but he said on TV "how can it be nornal contact in the box, when his hand is in his face"

Souness can't be accused of being a Utd fanboi, so the above is a firm opinion from an experienced pro.

A few problems today.

The most obvious being the utterly shocking state of Premier League refereeing. How on earth that Everton goal survived a VAR check is beyond me! The Everton player seemed to go elbows and arms first into so many aerial challenges, but certainly the goal should never have stood considering he went in arms first into de Gea's face. Everton never really looked like even creating a chance after that, so you can't help but feel hard done by the goal.

United started off extremely well and were unlucky to score, and only really let up pressure after the Everton goal (this team's back seems to break so easily). A lot of pressure, a lot of shots, a lot of passes, but so many of them so poor. The crossing especially was woeful today, but maybe that's helped by Everton being able to pack the box with players.

At the half time it was obvious United needed to try something else, and I was disappointed in Ole's timid substitutions again. He left bringing on Greenwood far too late for my tastes, considering Lingard was certainly running his socks off but not producing anything. After Greenwood came on, the threadbare nature of the squad was once again highlighted, because there was nobody else to bring on, who could realistically be considered a match winner. When you have to bring on Juan Mata in an effort to win the game, things are dire. Despite this, Woodward is already briefing the press that we are unlikely to spend in January, which should be grounds for a sacking, IMO.

Really frustrating game. United were up for it, but just not good enough to break down Everton more than once. It still should have been enough to win the game even with a bad performance, but just one of those days. One step forward, two steps back with this team.

Disappointing considering the very very good first 15 minutes. In the end we should have won because Everton's goal should have been disallowed.

Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.
The freak goal aside Everton did nothing.
We need a creative/attacking midfielder..Pogba or someone else next season.
Teams like Everton are hard to breakdown.
Greenwood is our new Ole.

Having a paper thin squad gives little options.

What’s boring is attacking any criticism of Ole with replies about “the type of supporter” one is. Being a supporter shouldn’t make one a sheep.

That was the 4000th game on the bounce that an academy player has played in the team. Some run.

Turning a corner does NOT mean you win every week. Youngsters bring excitement but inconsistency. We're going to be inconsistent. If we were getting this every week, it would be unacceptable but we're not. We just have to be patient with this sort of game for the moment.

I'm petty but no way that decision goes against Liverpool at home.
Spot on Catt. I knew we'd get shafted when I saw that Michael Oliver was the ref, with Craig Pawson VAR. Pawson was the VAR when Martial got dragged down in the penalty area against Crystal Palace with nothing given. Oliver has years of previous against us.

It doesn't help when we waste three glorious chances in the first ten minutes and have Martial and Lingard on our team. Good job we had Greenwood to bail us out again.

Do you think that you are some unique voice that needs to be heard in all of this? It's all the same. We didn't win and I'm pissed off and need to find some way to vent it on a keyboard.

People aren't attacking criticism, they are just feckin bored of it. There is nothing new to say because it's all been said a hundred times.

The crux is - the manager isn't going anywhere this season. We all know it. Just get on with supporting the team like all the sheep are doing.

Useless. Martial is the very definition of a fair weather player. Starting Lingard is like starting with 10 men but managers don’t seem to learn.
Yeah I can see Martial becoming another Anderson. Super-talented player but doesn't seem to have the commitment. He could easily become another highly paid bench-warmer, happy to pick up his money without putting the effort in.

I don't think it was a bad performance overall. We did enough to win but our decision making and finishing was poor. Apart from martial and Greenwood the rest dont have the composure in front of goal. 3 great chances at the beginning of the game.

Everton are a very poor team relying on set pieces. Should have known a Duncan Ferguson team would be relying on set plays from the start of the game. Clear foul on de gae but hes always been very soft outside his box when it comes to punching and catching the ball.

We are atleast creating chances now. A few months ago we were hopeless. With pogba coming back I hope it gives us that added creativity and drive from midfield because both periera and lingard are woeful at the moment.

We just don’t lose! No loss in PL since September. Good placeholder result until we get our creative engine Pogba back. Until then we have to deal with Lingard failing to control 4 out of every 5 passes given to him in the hole

Clueless management equates to crap results.

De Gea is a disgrace as well.
I'm pretty pissed off aswell but that's a bit over the line. We should've won and once again a stupid error cost us the game.

The truth is our squad is not good enough at the moment. And that is frustrating as hell. That's why Lingard misses that early chance for example. We as fans want more but at the moment our squad is not capable of much more.

It was expected really, teams like this have us worked out, and it'll just continue to happen until Ole has the midfielders to counter it, then we can actually see if knows what to do about it, so hopefully they'll do something about it January.

He deserves this now imo, as there are alot of positives atm.

But wait a minute. Were Rashford and James supposed to miss their chances? Was Lindelof supposed to score against our own goal?
That's all well and good, but we're still averaging one point per game against the bottom 14 clubs. It's a pattern that seems to be set in stone under Ole now. We are totally incapable of winning games against shit teams.

11 matches: 2 wins, 5 draws, 4 defeats. It's an atrocious record. And beyond just the results, looking at the pretty disgusting standard of football we've produced in those games it gets even worse.
