Well, that was game we should have won and deserved to. A lot of people have said we've been unlucky against smaller teams which I just haven't agreed with at all during the season but today was genuinely unlucky and unfair. Lingard should have scored within 20 seconds and their goal was a clear foul.

Think James deserves a bit of time on the bench with Greenwood coming in.

Heard the crowd singing at the beginning "there's only one Jesse Lingard" thankful for small mercies we haven't got two of them.

Hopefully Pogba is fit soon and Lingard doesn't get in the team.

Badly need Pogba back, that much is evident.
Back as a ten/advanced 8 or not at all. Fred and Mctom have those two spots nailed down for the moment.

Back to reality after 2 fortunate wins. Good news really though as this team is still far from being anywhere near ready for Champions League football.

Prefer to be in EL with a chance of competing than being CL cannon fodder.

Work in progress, but these are the results we need to expect with a very young team. Greenwood

Dropped points again against teams in the bottom half. If we can't figure out how to break down teams that defend deep we wont challenge for trophys. Not sure if it is Solskjaer who lacks the technical ability or the ability to motivate players against average clubs or the players who only get up for the big games. However, something has to give, it's just frustrating as all hell to watch this team play well one game and then have most of the players not show up the next.

I make that 6 points that VAR has cost us by not doing its job. Paints a very different picture if it was fit for purpose.

have no doubt if that was on Allison today, it’s given before it even goes in the net

A performance of a team lacking quality in key areas.

Martial was a lazy disgrace....lingard poor, rashford poor....

We are crying out for creativity and goal threat from midfield,-- we seriously need some crossing practice too.

We all want us to beat teams and win titles. Expecting this team to do that, despite all the obvious deficiencies is illogical. And when we invariably struggle to break teams down, you pretend our lack of creativity isn’t an issue? Tell me who the creative players are in our team, go on. Instead of just saying it’s all Ole’a fault, elaborate on it. You would have thought this places would’ve learned something from having LvG and Jose fail here.
That is because he is insisting on playing with a formation that requires a number 10. If he badly wants to play this formation he should have bought a number 10. But no, he chose to be a yes man and accept to go in to the season with this squad after losing 2 midfielders in the summer. So yes, it is his fault.

I mean, nothing really new, but still extremely disappointing. We just don't have much ideas against packed defence. This Everton team hasn't produced anything today and were pretty poor. We were too unfortunately.

I think there are lot of players with question marks in this team, but if there are too many of them, some of it is certainly on the system/manager also. Needs improving.

...we need a CF that attacks crosses...
The amount of tap-in crosses put into the box this season, mainly from James, is astounding.

If we had someone to get to the end of them we'd be in the top four on account of that alone and James would be the league's top assister.

Predicted 1-1. In isolation against an Everton putting a shift in inspired by big Dunc not a bad result, however I didn’t watch the match and in the wider context it’s another deeply frustrating result which again destroys any sense of momentum, typical of the last 6 years.

Deserved to win. How was that goal given? It was a flying punch in the face. Clearly affected his ability to be able to punch the ball away. Baffling.

However, frustrating overall that we couldn't make better choices in the final third. Greenwood is now pushing for starts. He makes goalscoring look easy.

For all the posters that are going to piss and moan all week until our next performance, just accept that these results are going to happen. It's part of the evolution of the team. We need a couple more really good players

It was an entertaining game. Felt confident that we were going to get a winner after we equalised but it didn't quite come. On we go

Said this to my girlfriend: Rooney/Tevez bury the Lingard early chance and Ronaldo buries the James one. Are we simply expecting too much from players who would get nowhere near our past League winning teams? Our recruitment has been dogshit. We're where we are because we have good players who sometimes do good things whereas now before we had great players who sometimes play shite.

Nani would be the star of this team FFS and Park would have a good case for being one of the most important players. It's simple enough isn't it that none of these guys get into the 08 team (maybe even squad outside of Pogba) yet we expect them to win every week. We don't have the players to achieve this anymore. After 4 managers it's clear enough now where the problem lies.

This current Liverpool team walks into their best 11 since 1990 aside from 3-4 players. It's hardly rocket science why we are so inconsistent. Ed and the Glazers need to get their fingers out pronto.

The Lindelof OG was typical of our couldn’t give a damn attitude.
It was a foul on DDG but no one disputed it, no one berated the ref or Everton players. It shouldn’t but these things influence refereeing decisions and I think we could have got VAR to give us the decision. Moo and Fergie would have bollocked them for not disputing it. Ole will just moan about it after the game.

Jesus. We’ve had a year and we still don’t see anything to suggest we can break things down. And I cannot believe anyone reallly thinks we don’t need to strengthen our wing options considering how inconsistent Rashford and James are and with subs like Mata. Greenwood should be playing as striker anyway.
Greenwood has largely gone missing when alone up front. He's much more effective from the right, at least at this point.

For all its faults, I'm seeing more positive tendencies from this Ole side than at any other point since SAF retired.

Same old more or less. We look pretty toothless, unless there is space in behind.

I just wish we had a set piece specialist of note. And maybe some players capable of attacking a cross. Such a basic way to create chances, when you lack genuine creativity and a novel attacking strategy.

Hope, We Lose
Weak at both ends today. McTominay, AWB and Maguire at least tried. Lindelof and Lingard are players who should be no higher than 6th place in the league so we cant complain

We shouldn't be in for Håland because we already have Martial :p

Shocking performance by the Frenchman.
Disinterested, whiny, didn't create much, stopped a plethora of attacks on his own.

Yes, the quality isn't that high. This is why i'm a bit baffled why all these tactics threads act like we have amazing players that aren't performing their peaks.

We have attackers that work well in space, but give them a low block with no space in the middle and they run out of ideas. Every low table team know to to play against us at home, it's been this way for a few years now.

It's up to Ole to see this though, and we need to recruit players that'll be better in those situations.

Frustrating is definitely the word for the game today, top 4 is opening it's legs like a cheap ho just like last year, and again we are fumbling for a condom. :(

We played well in spells and kept going at them right until the end, but James, Rashford, Martial, AWB, Mata etc....all fluffed the final ball in good positions, and both Rashford and Lingard missed really good chances early on.

No it isn't. We play 442 or 433 or 352 and you think that solves our creative issues? A yes man? So he needed to be a no man like Jose, and as we all know, that worked spectacularly. He got all the players he wanted...

Martial is an absolute joke attitude wise. Strolls around, no urgency, not making runs. Greenwood showed him in 5minutes what a striker should be doing for Manchester United. I'd drop him for Mason next game. Rashford after looking absolutely world class was really selfish and reverted to how he's been pre his good run of form.
Lingard was useless, as soon as Ole replaces Martial and and gets Pogba in we'll hopefully be able to unlock teams that don't play into our counter attacking game. That said, we should have been 2-0 up after 10 minutes, poor misses by Lingard and James. It's hard to fault James though, he never stops running and works so so hard to win the ball back. Fred is an absolute work horse too, I feel like McSauce and Fred behind pogba will change the dynamic of our attack.

Defensively we can't really be faulted. We just have an issue that AWB (can be be beaten 1v1?!) and Shaw don't offer enough going forward. Shaw definitely needs replacing, it's clear as day he's never going to be the player he was pre leg break and we need someone who can put more of a shift in.
Unfortunately I don't think Pogba will make much difference. He has the ability but his attitude is all wrong. We don't need players like that at the club. Personally I wouldn't be unhappy if he never played for us again. I recall more than a few games where he obviously couldn't be bothered or was totally outclassed & dominated by mid table opposition midfielders.

Same old against the bottom clubs after some encouraging results. Ole just seems incapable of setting the team out to deal with the sort of teams that sit deep and defend. With the exception of a few teams thats the norm.

We are getting better. Statistics is not fit to explain a game, but it pretty accurately show team progress in the last 10 or so games. We massively improved on every metric compared to past six years. And doing great in non quantifiable aspect like team psychology. The guys didn’t look frustrated, they just kept going forward not reacting to constant failures.

The Caf forgets that during LVG and Mourinho eras we were counting shots a game! It was most widely stat used stat in post match discussion. Now we creating tens of attempts.

Conversion is a stubborn issue but it will improve with our forwards having more chances to practice shooting in the games. We even have an instinctive finisher in Greenwood, Ole should trust him more.

Inability to pass high press was pain in the ass during Mourinho. Ole changed that with ball playing CBs and two mobile midfielders in front of them: CBs are better on the ball plus they have more options to pass. Another nail to high press coffin against us is that we established ourselves as the team deadly on the counter attack.

Cafe is now going to be ravaged by “ Where’s the fecking Ole’s head!” army for a while.

I knew we would drop points against Everton, so yes I am disappointed but not surprised.

Typical Man United Post-Moyes; great against bigger teams, clueless against the so-called lesser teams.

It was infuriating, but... you can tell we are one good no. 10 away to beat these "crappy" teams, and maybe a bit better striker. And it's fixable with plenty of good no. 10 options out there.

That Lindelof own goal is the most pathetic thing I've ever seen in my life. Absolute brainfart. Another position we need to upgrade on. Great.

Rashford was uninspired and selfish. Seem like he should've fecking learned by now that we're a team, you play your guts out for your club, especially when we are not winning.

Just so disappointing man. When are we going to be a top team again? I'm sick of the false dawns and purple patches. It's taking a toll on me for sure.

You know the thing is I fully expected this but our performance against City raised my subconscious expectations. So disappointed. Depressed. Genuinely feel so down after a long long time.

And how is it going to change. It's not.

Genuinely feel so so depressed.
