Second best in every aspect in that half really. Really poor stuff. Can't really credit anyone on our team. De Gea making a balls of that corner for the second goal. Of course what came after is unlucky but still. Can't say it's undeserved.

    Lingard.

How the feck does this useless prick get game time? Let alone starts.

He hasn’t assisted or scored in over a year!

    ‘J-Lingz’ should ‘F-Offz’
Because Ole has his favourites who will get picked no matter what.

This demonstrates that our woeful performances are down to coaching. Arsenal have looked utter cack all season, and once Arteta comes in and starts to actually implement a style of football, you see signs of improvement in the initial games and bang, they're all over us, 2-0 up at half time.

Ole quite clearly doesn't have a clue when it comes to tactics, with the wins against City and Spurs flattering him and us. I want the man to succeed with us naturally, but with each week that goes by I slide further and further toward the Ole-out camp. It's painful.
    This. Absolutely spot on.

    Sick of this shit now.

I said before we even kicked off we would lose this game. I want us to win it, I hope we win it but we will lose.

2+ years now EVERY time we have had the opportunity to gain points on the top 4 or to get into the top we lose. No exaggeration either, EVERY time. It's become our trademark doesn't matter if we are playing Arsenal or Brighton if we can gain on teams we lose that game.

I don't know how we fix that, I really don't for it to happen so consistently for so long it now must be engraved in every players mind.

It's truly depressing that we have no means of scoring if it's not on the counter or from a penalty kick.

You'd think a decent coach would tell his players to do that wouldn't you?

It's hardly new science in football coaching
They're unable to Arsenal are corralling them, letting them have the ball as they know they can't do anything with it. We desperately need a couple of new midfielders.

Boy, what I'd do to have Ferdinand and van Persie on the pitch now. :(

Never thought in lifetime I would see Ozil worked harder than anyone (Martial).

That £70m flop who has been garbage every week and never scores goes and scores against us. Ace.

Everything is just so slow. So much pace in the team, yet we are 2nd to everything, lethargic, no urgency.

Lingard literally did absolutely nothing for all of 2019. How is that enough to get a start in a big away game? Not that Pereira or Mata are much better, but at least they have actually produced something recently. Either look likely create something than Lingard

They did it against Chelsea for 30 minutes until Lampard bought Jorginho on and changed the formation and then they ended sitting deep and defending a lead for the next 60 minutes. I wonder if Ole even watched that game.
Fergie said even as a player Ole would watch any game and take detail of it, they would chat about other games so im pretty sure he would watch the oppos last game.

Pereira has two assists in two games. Dropped for a player who seemingly retired in 2918, in every meaningful statistical category at least.

Lingard is absolutely done at this level, because he played well at Emirates in the past should have no bearing on his selection, it's been too long since he did anything of note.

Lingard had two opportunities to set off good chances in the early stages, both passes were weak and straight to the receiving player, not in stride and killing off all momentum. Just a shocking, negative attacking player.

Yep, having Matic though instead is useless.
Think everyone knew this including Ole, he's only come back in the team due to Pogba and McT being out. The big problem was no investment in midfield in the Summer, it was clear to everyone this was going to be an issue and that was before Pogbas injury back in September. Despite the huge investment by the owners in the last few seasons our squad is wafer thin in quality. It's frightening.

Arsenal are terrible out of possession but one thing they do well is move the ball and keep it. You beat them by bullying them in the middle of the park but we don’t have any quality or tenacity in that area to do it. If you let Arsenal play they’ll score more often than not. Unless we can get a foothold in the middle of the park we won’t get back into this.

If we had 2 of Fellaini, Herrera or McTominay, we would be winning the game but our lack of midfield quality/depth yet again holds us back.

This post is ridiculous. He’s been there barely a couple of weeks. Coaching has nothing to do with this performance, this is pure adrenaline and passion. Coaching hasn’t come in to it
Ridiculous? Have you even watched Arsenal this season? They have been utter shit. They have never played with this kind of organisation in attack or defence. It is a well-coached 1st half performance boosted by the inevitable confidence one would gain with scoring early and playing well.

Outclassed by a garbage Arsenal team, yet again can’t string a run of wins together definitely a mentality issue either from the players or it’s filtering down from the manager or both!

‘It’s a multi-year squad evolution analysis,’ Woodward said in an interview with the fanzine ‘United We Stand’. ‘It’s hard enough to get three players done in a transfer window.

‘To get six or seven done is extremely difficult if you are getting proper talent. ‘If you choose to churn every player because they are not good enough and you’re not extending contracts, you are putting yourself at risk of execution. ‘Sometimes you have to take a broader view.’

    That's your answer.
    To what question?

It's very clear that Arteta has coached (to some degree) the Man City/Pep blueprint into the Arsenal players. All the player movements, the channel and hole drop-backs, wing-rotation, wide players holding very wide. Someone here commented that Arsenal will eventually run out of steam, but I think it's more important to realise that Arsenal are only so effective in the press, and relentless, because they're keeping the ball much better and pressing from a much higher position on the field. It's infinitely less tiring to press in the final third and keep the team compact high up the field, than it is to press from the halfway line and find your forward line stretching the gap between itself and the midfield.

If anything, it's more likely that United will tire before Arsenal. It's harder to chase possession teams than it is to be a possession rushing to recover possession.

Lingard... What is the point of him ? He offers absolutely nothing and has been offering nothing for some time now.

An AM that hasn't scored for a year...
It would be hillarious if he was on a different team. He is beyond useless, if he is not taken off at ht we lose for sure. He is running all over the place, as long as the ball is not there. Get him off.
