Bad first half. Better second. Players looked like few of them had hangover. However, playing 3 matches is though. Shame to not come away with 3 p but we are little lucky because of other results. Little setback but hopefully we will be on it again next game.

Shaw and Rashford were very bad. People love to have a go at Lingard and Matic but today, Rashford was worst. Looked tired. Playing a lot so in one way you can understand.

Also as expected, antiOle-group is on it again after being silent for some weeks. It is shame to see our own fans writing in that way and attacking our players, manager and club. To give critisicm is one thing. To use that ind of language is another.

We didn’t learn anything tonight that we didn’t already know.
We looked sluggish, slow, and lacked ideas.
Matic, Lingard and Shaw have no right to be in the squad anymore, and when we’re bringing on a kid and an ageing Mata to change it then we’ll struggle.
Ole and the people above him need to bring players in this January, else we’ll continue to inconsistently plod to a mediocre end to the season.
Fred was alright, AWB tried to get forward, can’t say a lot about the rest of them tonight unfortunately.

This loss might not be the worst thing in the world. It beyond obvious they need to bring two midfielders in, and at the least one. Matic and Lingard are not premier league players. Pereiera is beyond average and Pogba doesn't want to play. After this match, anything they say about not getting players in is just plain excuses.
If they don't reinforce that would be straight sabotage. There's is still a chance to make top 4. Failure to make top 4 next season will be financially costly because the Addidas sponsporship money will be cut and the loss of UCL revenue as well. We are looking to loose million of dollars next season. If not to improve the squad, bringing players in will save us losses in the summer. If we reinforce properly we will make top 4

Just another 3-4 windows,

Yep another two years according to mastermind and technical coach that is Ollie. Arteta rocks up & gets them to play after a few games. Yes out of puff in the 2nd half but a pattern of play.

So, in the matchday thread, all week I have been bullish.
Singing our praises and debasing AFC, telling everybody how crap AFC are.
The first time this season I have been very positive, confident of an easy win.
I even said that we'd work on our goal difference. What a fool I was.

Today's result has taught me never ever get sucked into positivity again, when it comes to this team.
I apologise to everybody for being so bullish and will be ultra negative in the run up to our next match.

The other thing was that our manager got schooled by Arsenal's rookie manager. It was his first win as manager of Arsenal, too.
Starting to think we read too much into good results, Burnley and Newcastle, who are in slumps. Yet we are struggling against teams who have new manager with players wanting to prove something. Terrible coaching, terrible tactics and no fight.

Not surprised anymore. Go into most games expecting poor performances and poor results.

Ole isn't the only problem. There really is something horribly wrong with our club.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Got to find another attacking style.

It's either fast break/counter attack OR

Side to side passing across the pitch.

Need players to take an opponent on, create a gap, make opposing defenders change position. We make it too easy for a half decent defence. Arsenal were average, we never really made them work.

Poor.

Roll on 2021.

As for Shaw.......

Look, here's the thing..... quality or no quality, sprinting into a wide open space to receive the ball isn't a technical skill. Whatever he possesses or lacks has no factor on his unwillingness to aggressively overlap his teammate. Either he's tactically stunted and incapable of reading any on-field situations, or, even worse he's unwilling to exert himself to be aggressive off-the-ball.

Really hope we won’t see AWB, Shaw, Lingard and Rashford for couple of weeks

Would you want to join United and be coached by this lot?

Ole is a dumb manager who cannot bother to make tactical changes. AWB was expose and he did nothing before and after they had scored. Rushford wasn’t effective and was totally out of the game, did he bark any instruction? For 90 min, he was a bloody passenger. What is Lingard role in this team? He is out of form and playing without purpose and yet Ole finds ways to put him in the XI. Shouldn’t William last performance deserve to put recall to XI? Mind boggling manager who can’t even deserve to manage championship clubs, let alone Man Utd. Guess what we are stuck with him for another 1-2 years.

Zonal marking is not garbage, it's not the problem. The problem is the execution of some of the players.
I’m really not a fan and never have been, maybe it works with certain teams and certain players. I prefer each player being accountable for another.

Arteta's been there for 5 minutes and you can see what he's all about. Meanwhile, we're serving up the same tumescent bollocks.
In fairness to Ole, he did the same. For now it is nothing more than a new manager bounce imo.

If we can’t turn up for a game like this then we have deeper problems. Watford was poor but this was dreadful. The spine, such as it is, was next to useless at key moments including the 2 goals. Maguire can actually be a liability and he’s certainly not a ball playing CB. Lingard is done and Shaw looks a shadow of what he once was. I can’t believe Ole thinks we have enough to see the season out - lightweights impersonating a footy team.

Arsenal wanted this more than United. Just didn't let United play.

Martial was the only real plus for me. Could have gone missing tonight but he was the only one trying to galvanise us in the second half.

Rashford and James looked tired. Matic and Lingard played as expected..

Pogba is gone.

Toothless. I don’t get all the love for Martial. Typical inconsistent performance every other game. Our players deserve corporal punishment for that. Ole is too nice to drop his favorite players but we should never have to see Lingard or Shaw play for United again.

Woeful first half, better second. We need so many players all over the park, especially a No. 10.

Lingard is genuinely championship quality. I know that gets said a lot on here about various players but it's really true about him. He should never ever be in a man united squad again.

Shaw already plays like he is 37 years old and is no where near good enough. He was no where near the left back position in build up to the second goal, as per usual.

Been saying it all season but lindelof and maguire do not make for a good partnership. We really need someone who can defend in one of the centre back positions.

Willing to excuse rashford as his performance may be down to tiredness.

Surprised that we didn’t press them hard like we typically do against top teams. Looked like we were overconfident or stayed up too long partying. Regardless, inexcusable performance and we are definitely much more better than what we showed today.
Don't think they were fired up, as though somebody told them how bad Arsenal have been and it would be a doddle.

France - can't win anything with Swedish turnips
Positive going ino this match hoping Pogba would finally start and find he's injured again and the totally useless non-league standard Lingard starts instead.

First half was disgraceful. Could have opened Arsenal up early but Lingard can't give a pass to James and the chance was gone.
Lingard gives the ball away for the nth time and Pepe scores.
Lucky to be only 2-0 down at half time, defending was poor and nothing going forward as we didn't have a number 10 who can play football at this level. No service to the front players.

Only Fred, Martial , AWB and Matic played reasonably well.

Better second half but only Martial posed a threat.
Great start to the year.

If a manager has a style of play... he doesn’t need x amount of transfer windows for it to show

Every man and his dog knows we're shite. More worryingly, we're a club without a plan or strategy to get us back to the top. Many more dark days lay ahead
Woodward and the Glazers are laughing all the way to the bank, with the fans fully conned and accepting of the 'multi-year rebuild' with Ole at the wheel. It reads like a parody straight out of rawk, but somehow it's reality!

This was Arsenal’s first Premier League win this season against a team currently in the top half of the Premier League (D4 L5).

It's going to be a painful few weeks watching Matic play in midfield while we have no other options. Shaw, Lingard and Lindelof should be far from any team we are building for the future.

Our English players are awful (Shaw, Maguire, Lingard, James..) . Literally the worst players on the field

Which is probably why we could do with another striker so the lad can have a break.

We were victims of circumstances tonight. Arsenal were due to put in a performance like that for Arteta, and we are truly awful when going a goal down.

Its as clear as day we need a peak LB, a CM, a No 10, more competition in the striker positions.

It annoys me that OGS continues to play Lingard/Shaw when Greenwood and Williams have been fantastic when called upon. Shambles of a club.

Personally I'd withhold their wages after a performance like that. No guts, passion or leadership in the entire squad.
Glad I've got some booze left.
Should give the travelling fans their money back for such an inept performance. Brought back my hangover from last night the shit bastards.

From bad to worse to catastrophically bad. We are gonna be pathetic for a long, long time. Coaching / managing is just a small percentage of a much larger problem.

Awful first half. Were lucky to go in only 2 nil down. Arsenal wanted it much more. We couldn't string a pass together and didn't know how to best their press.

Second half, Arsenal dropped off a bit more, but at the same time, our press was much better. In terms of possession we bossed it, but as usual, thats when we struggle. We lacked the creativity to break down and Arsenal team who sat back.

Think this is why its so important we get the first goal. That way, we can sit back a bit and counter teams. When we concede first, we become void of ideas. I might be wrong, but im sure we havent won a game after going behind under Ole in the league.

Either way, again it was clear what we're lacking, and its important that the issue is addressed as soon as possible.
