I wouldn't want Pochettino right now and would wait till the end of the season.

Why? Because right now you could say that Ole is laying the ground work for a coach like Pochettino to come in next season. Ole right out now is shredding the deadwood that's in this club. He is signing the right players. He is blooding youngsters into the team. Introducing a pressing system (as shit as it is). And by the time this season is done we might be in midtable, our squad might be thinner but the groundwork would have been laid for Pochettino to take over.

Because Pochettino likes to work with young players and we have a lot of that thanks to Ole. Pochettino likes a pressing system and we at least do it now thanks to Ole. The transition from Ole to Pochettino would be smooth it won't be like going from Mourinho to Ole or Moyes to Van Gaal or Van Gaal to Mourinho. It will be like going from Ole to a more advanced Ole.

But if he comes right now there would be a lot of pressure, we might end up not signing anyone in January. It would be very reactionary. Waiting till the season is over is just more ideal. It's like a win win situation for our future. If Ole somehow turns this situation around then he can be given more time. And if he ends up failing whichever position we end up in the league the ground work or foundation for Pochettino would have been laid for him to take over.

From yesterday's press conference, it was clear that Ole was not laying foundation for someone like Poch to come in next season. Ole want to be the manager next season and he said he is analysing players from our team for next season and basically written off this season. He basically wants to save his job and wants to be the manager next season too.

With the way we play football, there is no way we can get in to top 4 with Ole as manager. He had more than a year to analyze the palyers which he failed to do so. He is tactically naive, his substitutions are very poor, he favours certain players (like Lingard in No.10 position when he has not had a goal or assist in PL for an year), he looks lost & clueless during the match when we are 1 down.
He sold/loaned/released players like Lukaku, Herrera, Fellaini and Sanchez without replacing them and at the start of the season he said he was happy with the squad. After terrible results, he comes and says he is analysing the players, rebuilding for the future and many more excuses to save himself.

Our next 3 matches are against Newcastle, Burnley & Arsenal and in case if we do not win atleast two of these matches, it will be better to sack Ole and hire Poch. Atleast Poch can have a look at this squad, make 1 or 2 January signings, implement his ideas and we can start the next season strongly.

You took my what i said the wrong way. What I meant was that even though Ole is planning for next season and he has a vision for the future if he were to be sacked at the end of this season, the work he has done with this team is decent enough for someone like Pochettino to come in implement his ideas without much need for something like an overhaul or reset

Ole couldn’t lure Haland. His style of play is boring and shows no consistency with his positive result since becoming permanent manager.

His time should be up in Summer and Pochettino should take charge. At least let get back in the champions league and work our way up from there. No more Europa league for ManchesterUnited.

Is an ability to motivate his players on a consistent game to game basis part of his vision?

Touché

but it’s not, no. I don’t like the idea of poch
He's an incredible manager who over achieved with Spurs to the point of the CL final. Works well with young players and teams on a budget too.

Its genuinely incredible obvious. Wanted him when we appointed LVG, wanted him when we appointed Jose, wanted him when we appointed Ole and still want him now.

I know This argument goes around in circles but I don’t think he really over achieved. He had a better team with spurs than what we have now.
failed to win any finals, let Leicester beat them to the league and being totally honest that champions league run to the final was not very convincing, but he got there yes.

I don’t know who else we could go for, I just don’t buy into the Poch hype

I wanted Ole to stay based on the knowledge that Erling Haaland was coming in January. The fact Ole couldn't land a fellow Norweigen who he worked with before is a bit of a red flag.

I think Ole will be given until December 2020 to finish his rebuild. But I'd prefer to see Pochettino brought in over the summer, considering Ole couldn't even attract a central midfielder last summer, despite the team in urgent need of one.

This season is a write-off. For every game we win, we will lose another. Will Ole be able to attract even Declan Rice and Grealish in the summer? I'm not sure they'd be in a hurry to sign for him.

I think beating Pep's city while missing Harry Kane is quite impressive. People can play down Pep's CL record, but he's still won it twice.

Won't look any different next year if Ole is still here. Actually it could probably go even worse.

Tbh the only reservations I have about hiring Poch is that he is coming off, his worst season ever. We hired LVG when he was manager of a small club, Mourinho coming off his worst season ever having Chelsea in relegation form.

You want to bring someone in who can instill confidence and since Poch just had Spurs in worse/same form as us, I'm not really sure he'd fit in right now. Maybe it would be better to wait till the summer.

Didn't Liverpool hire Klopp after he had Dortmund in relegation form?

We’d be fools not go after him.
Isn't that what we are though, fools?

This is a club that hired David Moyes to replace arguably the greatest manager to ever live and not learn from that colossal mistake, but instead hire an even more inexperienced coach who's putting Moyes himself in a better light. We are absolute fools and won't go for Poch because it makes far too much sense.

Yeah, but Klopp constantly had to work with having his best players poached or bought from bigger clubs. But I guess there are similarities. I'd still say that Klopp was and is on a different level. Poch is quality younger coach, but I'd still say what Klopp did with Dortmund was far more impressive.

He's done OK. Jose would not have given even a sniff of an opportunity to the likes of Fred, McTominay, James, Greenwood, Martial, Williams, yet Ole has slowly moulded them all into important first teamers with the right attitude. That has to be respected. Ole inherited a car crash from 3 horror managers, who should never have been allowed anywhere near the club. Ole is definitely an upgrade on the last 3.
Ole needs to nail his next signings. There's no room for error with new signings, as Ole will not last long if things don't improve.

Bring in Longstaff in January. Mould him into a solid deep-lying midfielder, and add Grealish in the summer and maybe things can improve. I'm surprised Garner has seen so little time considering how weak we've been in midfield. He should be ready to challenge for a place next season.

But I think Ole should probably be given till December 2020 to fully fix the culture and philosophy at the club. Pochettino will probably be at PSGby then, if that's the case then hire Naglesmann by then.

Is Ole really fixing the culture? I get that he is focusing on youth and a british core(which I think is silly), but ever since Moyes there has been complaints about lowered standards. It seems to me that Ole is lowering the standard every week. For me the whole culture of Man Utd during the fergies was having unforgiving winners at the helm. Now it's all smiles and no pressure when we are breaking negative records. Not even top 4 seems to be the minimum.

If the next 2 months don't go well for Ole....Poch will be lined up to takeover in May. Absolutely nailed on.

I know that beggars can't be choosers, but I'm not even sure if Poch wants to come here unless he has assurances of fundings necessary for a title challenge. I think he's a bit weary of the top 4 trophy and want to challenge for bigger things. It seems our owners don't really care about bringing back to the top.

Ole is trying to repair the club under the guidance of Fergie and Mike Phelan in the background. I think the whole plan is to rebuild Utd in the Fergie way, then see where we're at once the rebuild is taking shape after the summer transfer window.

You only have to look Jose's second stint as Chelsea manager, when he flogged Mo Salah and De Bruyne for peanuts, while replacing them with expensive short term fixes like Fabregas and Diego Costa, to see the damage a short-termism approach can do to a club. We repeated the mistakes by giving Jose an open checkbook to sign expensive short-term flops like Matic and Alexis.

The Fergie way was always the opposite approach, short term pain for long term gain, and we are seeing signs of progress with developing young players. Under Fergie, so many players looked like they'd never be good enough, from Fletcher to Gary Neville to Cristiano Ronaldo who all mostly frustrated at the start, before slowly finding their way.

Klopp was all smiles and relaxed, even when Liverpool fans seriously doubted him in the first 6 months. I don't think a modern manager has to have a constant scowl like what was needed in the past. I think we're a Grealish, a developed Garner, Greenwood and James and a developed Longstaff away from being a balanced team again. I feel if Ole can last until that happens, then he might just succeed here. If not then bring in the best in the business who fits the philosophy and who can improve on Ole's youthful rebuild, whether Naglesmann, Pochettino or Marco Rose.

Good post.
