No you don’t need to be an attending fan to have an opinion on a player, but it helps have a better view of a player, because you can see off the ball movement, off the camera movement, you can see the structure of the play better, you can see what a players overall ability is like far more than watching it on TV or you aimlessly copying and pasting from twitter.
Yeah and I attend games when I can so I can say that by the same token you can miss a lot of things at a live game. I'm not aimlessly copying and pasting things on twitter, I'm calling you out on your bullshit.

If he got time and not moving at speed, then his one-touch passing is good. At speed and under pressure, then it is inconsistent. Doubt he would be given the same time on the ball or be able to stand still and cross/pass in the EPL or that our movement and passing is good enough to create these situations against most teams.
Looks like Suarez when running with the ball. Not silky, but functional. Not that he should be compared to Suarez as a player given Suarez is a really intelligent player, whereas Fernandez is all effort.

He plays with a free role at Sporting (at least in the matches I have seen, earlier this season), can pass and move as he sees fit. Not sure how this would work for us given that he would play for a team unable to pass efficiently and effectively, in a tougher league... Big transition and hard to see how his game would translate for us other than set pieces.
Thanks.

Where did I say I'm happy with any of it? I'm probably overly critical of Ole and the team if anything but I'm not going to criticise players who are actually performing week in week out. In fact I'm Ole out and still am but I can also be happy if a team performs well and wins. This team is 5th and God knows how many points behind Liverpool not because of Fred. He's literally been carrying us the past few weeks.
Carrying us to 2 losses a draw and a win! Come on mate, give your head wobble. Fred is a decent, hard working midfielder. To say he’s been carrying us when we‘re winning 1 game in 4 Is embarrassing.

Is he our first choice for a position in the first team? If not, ignore him.

For what it’s worth, I attend games and I re-watch them on Sky+ so I can analyse them in depth. So I miss very little.

My bullshit? You’re posting meaningless stats that mean nothing, stats that nobody cared about when we actually had a world class midfield. All I’ve said is he’s a decent, hardworking central midfielder, I think most would agree with me on that. How is that bullshit? Strong word for having an opinion.

There's only one United!
Why do we always have to take so long and drag these sort of transfers?!
Pay the money and get him ED - what the feck are you waiting for?!

Sporting match at 2030 - so an hour before at the latest......
That doesn’t mean we are signing him though.....just maybe that he is going somewhere.....history tells us that if there are any other interested clubs then Ed is likely to haggle and haggle and then......lose the player....

Let’s hope Ed’s New Year Resolution was to be a more dynamic, faster, multi-tasking CEO in the transfer market......

He'll complete the deal an hour before the deadline instead of a minute before instead.

You said its delusional to call him world class, yet I don't see many people calling him that, in the next post you call him distinctly average. Now you're saying he's a decent, hard working player. I asked you can he not be a very good player without being world class to which you didn't reply. If you watch the games, you'll see that he has turned into a very good player, and the stats are there to back it up and if the team he's playing for aren't performing and he's the only standout player during those games then surely it says a lot about him? Anyway his performance thread is now open which I posted in. I'm not going to derail this thread any further either.

Would be an automatic improvement on Pereira, mostly considering we need add creativity and goals from midfield. Must sign him.

Your logic makes zero sense. Rashford can't be an excellent attacker then, going by your logic? Because hey we're winning 1 game in 4 after all.

Are you arguing that Fred has not been the key influence in our midfield for a long time now?

Fred is clearly an excellent midfielder, he's been consistent for months now.

Take no notice mate. I remember having the same exact argument with him after the Spurs home match where he called him average then. You might as well talk to a brick wall.

Any chance you can share some of the in depth analysis you've done on any of our games?

Get this done quick and end any possibility of anyone else hijacking this! Been waiting too long for a good bit of transfer news.
Be the most Woody thing ever if he's penny pinching and trying to include our deadwood in the deal whilst Levy comes in and steals!

Jose would fecking love that as well wouldn’t he. Hopefully after hearing the crowd get on his back today during the game it’ll put pressure on Woodward to get this done quickly.

Levy watched 60million get spunked on Ndombele in the summer, he's not about to spend another penny knowing spurs won't make the CL again next season.

I class average and decent as the same thing, but two different describing words. Sorry for confusing you, to clarify, I think he’s a decent, hard working, limited midfielder. I like him a lot for what he offers, but he will never be world class or amongst the elite players due to a limit in his overall ability, in my opinion.

I didn’t see you ask if he can be a very good player, but I‘m more than happy to reply - he can be a very good player if he stops losing the ball in key areas, if he improves his consistency in his passing and if he improves at set plays. He’s young enough to improve and I think between himself, Pogba, Matic and McTomminay we have 4 good central midfielders.

You need to come to terms with the fact that whilst he may be doing certain things right in games and as such these stats are being produced on Twitter, that doesn’t mitigate for the fact that he is limited in some areas of his game that stats might not pick up I’m afraid. You also need to remember that we’re dropping points due to our midfield overrun and you’ve claimed that Fred has been running our midfield. He can’t be running it that well If we’re winning 1 in 4.

Don’t take constructive criticism of Fred as a personal insult, its healthy on a fans forum.

Shutup about Fred literally no one but you two care about him in this thread.
Scroll back and you’ll see who de-railed the thread. I’m not going to “shut up“ when engaging in a conversation with another poster on a fans forum I’m afraid.

Fans need to be cautious over a potential move. It seems Sporting are the ones pushing the deal because they need the money. They already a baseline of a deal started with us and are looking to create a bidding war with Spurs. I still think we are favorites by a bit but I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up at Spurs.

If so shows we are an inept joke. Top 4 is possible with Jan additions ffs. Without it we are just giving it up.

I have a passion for Manchester United and for football. Maybe have a look around and check where you are.... A Manchester United supporters forum. I like other things than football that contribute to me being ”fun”, but I’m not choosing to post them on here. Are you fun, also sat on a fans forum at 5.30pm on a Saturday?

The spurs links were completely made up, they don't need Fernandes and they can't afford him either.

Even if he is just decent that would transform our team because Pereira is dreadful.

The fact he can score and assist means he has so much to offer this side.

This is what i'm afraid of - we're so used to ED dragging his feet for a few million. :(

Yes he would, the rules have changed.

Agree with the second part.
