Young's wages have now made way for Bruno's wages the remainder of the season....if this were to go through early next week. Balancing the books eh Woody.

This ain't Craig David we're signing lad.
I'm late to the party, but:
In a nutshell ;
Portuguese league is crap as evidenced by Lindelof being its best defender
Goalkeepers have no hands and are blind
He’s got a goatee
He kicks doors to pretend he’s hard, not hard like Keane who finished the career of everyone
United

Eboue
This, too :

Let me imagine the scenario :

Sporting : We want 60m.

Woodward: No way in hell we pay this, only 40 or 50m.

Also Woodward when Jan 31th come : Goddamnit here take 80m and give us the player few hours before the window closes.
Yep, that’s surely exactly how it will go down.

Having a good long shots benefit in many ways. Its not just about goals. It forces opponent defensive midfielders to close channels to the person who often makes long shots. This will pull them off their usual formation and puts their central defenders to cover ground. You pair him with strikers with good movements and they will be under heavy pressure to close down or stand off. It causes panic and mayhem, not to mention the fear factor that such shooters from distance can change their entire defensive game plan with a single moment of lapse in concentration. We need players like that. Pogba already doing too many things at once.
True. Also we'll add a new dimension to our attack, instead of just rely on counter attack which rarely work against parking the bus team.

What is Young's wage out of interest?
Very difficult to work out really, it all comes from a central fund so it’s impossible to know what came from interest and what came from profits.

Indeed, I'll listen if it's Ducker or Stone otherwise it's not worth paying attention to.

1 person against 100 others. Just somebody trying to go against the grain.

Let’s be honest we knew we’d play hard ball anyway, the deal will get done I’m certain. we need the player more than a few quid.

This is just a face saving campain by Sporting. Leaking fake reports that we only offered 50 million euros and they wanted 65 million.

The price will be 65 million euros and Sporting appears to be the tough negotiatior. Same happened with Wan-Bissaka.

If we sell Young and don’t buy anyone this month then there will be hell to pay.
Yeah, I assume with Young going then we have 1 or 2 players that are all but done to come in.

Why is that? What is Young offering to the team that Ethan Laird or Dalot would offer? Feck all is the answer. And please don't mention "leadership" because leaders like Young are one of the reasons we are where we are.

When there is obviously no other party interested in his service it is reasonable for woodward to drive a hard bargain. The problem is Man Utd's midfield injury crisis does not help.

I'd say selling Young is no issue whatsoever.

If we get to February without buying anyone it'll be a disaster though.

We simply are not fully convinced (rightly so imo) by him hence are not willing to overpay, I think that's a reasonable approach.

Sporting CP desperately needing the money doesn't help them either.

If we don't get Bruno over a couple of million I hope they fecking implode.

Sorry if you confused me thinking Young is a really important player to us but I’ll play along anyway. Dalot is never fit. Laird has played what, once? And you think they will offer more than Young?

Anyway, the point was more about all the guff about Ole having the backing in the market etc. For us then to sell a player and not bring anyone in would be pretty hilarious and/or unsurprising. If we aren’t in for Bruno the club need to come out ASAP and say so.

If we really are after Bruno why the hell couldnt we have negotiated with Sporting before the january window.
McTominay got injured at the very end of December and we found out he would be missing for a while on NYE. Pogba was ruled out needing surgery in early January. So I think our plans changed when we became desperate. I still don’t think he’s anything more than a plan B that we are very reluctant to pay much for him. I think we are happy to set a low ball price and make Sporting sweat on it as they are desperate to sell him while his stock is high.

If we dont get Bruno or any other midfielder this window, we might as well pack it in and forfeit the rest of our games because without the possibility of a top 4 finish, there would be nothing to play for. We also might as well take a break out of Europe all together.
