Feet up at home.
Agreed, but in this dire need of players where we may have even halved our wage bill from this time last year.

If you spin it, we get him and we finish top 4, the money is justified however; if we do not, that will have to be on Ole's head and he will have to face the sack unfortunately.
Don't get me wrong I hope we do sign him whatever the cost ends up as being, just arguing against the it's not my money so I don't care point made earlier.

The only person who can scupper the deal at this point, is Woodward. All signs point to Bruno wanting to come, Sporting willing to sell and more importantly, Sporting needing to sell. Woodward will haggle over a few million, just so he can act billy big bollocks, instead of backing the manager and buying the type of player we desperately need.
Woodward doesn't negotiate the transfers. Don't know where this myth has come from.

Matr Judge negotiates the transfers.

Run ins with police, smashing doors, snubbing fans.

Welcome to Manchester
We could have done with some of that passion against Liverpool, would be nice to see one of our players getting angry for a change. Seems to take losing very bad !

I think we played with passion and heart against Liverpool. We just lacked quality all over. I am sad for defeat but certainly not disappointed with the effort.

This! No faulting effort and energy. We know we’re a few players short of being competitive

I'm not sure about the poin that you are making, we spend 95% of our revenue on operating expenses, we don't actually have the means to spend 150m without selling.

feck me. If we spend 95% of our revenue on operating expenses, and yet we are still one of the most profitable clubs in the world, we have much bigger problems than Pogba, Ole, Rashfords injury, Liverpool’s resurgence and the stadiums impending decay put together.

don’t suppose it would have anything to do with the Glazers and their lackey.

I get the feeling that negotiations have died.

But what do I know, I said Haaland was a done deal.

 We got charged mate.
First time I've ever seen De Gea get more than a little animated, was nice to see for once actually.

If only he kicked off like that against Everton he might have got that over turned too.

he does. But he doesnt set the parameters.

thats a bit like saying it’s not the Glazers fault, old chubby cheeks makes all the decisions.
He makes them within the confines of his instructions.

jeez. It isn’t difficult. it all filters down from above.

It's crazy isn't it? Just think about the fact that around 2018 Tottenham was outperforming us while having 60% of our wage bill. Our wage bill is what most good current CL clubs have as their entire budget. That's why I keep saying that while our board is useless, our managers have no excuse because they have been given the money, they have been given a lot of freedom in the way to use it and they wasted it like money has probably never been wasted in football, on that point we are in competition with MIlan who have also spent an absolute fortune.

And of course the Glazers and Woodward are responsible, even if it's by sheer incompetence.

Does anyone actually believe the latest rumours? I find it hard to believe any sources from Portugal now

Sporting need to sell and they’re trying to get the best deal possible, I think it will come down to the last couple of days of the window before a deal is reached when it’s clear neither club will budge on price.

Portuguese press are the worst though, they reprint the same story for weeks on end.

Our spending does matter. If we spend say 10m more than we should on a player we could miss out on another target by not spending that 10m to clinch someone.

Every player has to have a top limit.
I agree with this but it highlights Woodward's failures. We lost two CMs last year, Herrera and Fellaini yet here we are two windows later and Bruno has been talked to death both windows. Where is a list of alternatives?

Surely during two windows we could have made approaches for at least some other suitable CM candidates... couldn't we?

As we seem to have no other alternatives I am of the mind Woodward needs to over pay to get this done.

Either do due diligence and scout and find options or go all in on your one, but do not do nothing which is unacceptable to me.

If you think Fellaini was a ‘loss’ then it highlights our problems.

We are in desperate need of players, a good piece of business could secure us top 4. I honestly think that if we do no business, it's the first clear sign that Woodward has lost confidence in Ole and is lining up a replacement.

A scenario which highlights the incompetence in how the club is being run.

Sporting have every right to drag this on. Fernandes is comfortably their most important player, arguably the most influential player they've had since the likes of Jardel,Figo,Ronaldo and possibly Moutinho were playing at the club.

But there must come a time when Sporting could leave themselves short here if a deal does finally materialise, likely with a couple of days left remaining in the window.

Their financial issues are well known to a certain degree but you would also like to believe they too would want to bring in someone that will lesson the loss of their key talisman.
Are they going to manage that in a possible short time ?

We all love United
Have a feeling this will be officially announce today just before the game to lift up the mood at the ground before kickoff. Maybe i’m being too optimistic
