If reports are to believed and we fail to close this deal over 6-10 million, this place will be brutal.

Woody and Judge are the equivalent of those two clowns that directed season 8 of Game of Thrones. It's all about 'subverting expectations'.

Won't be the first time...so many big players that we seem to have fallen just short of.

Aguero is probably the best example. We wanted to pay £30m. He went for £35m. On hindsight he would have been worth spending £200m!

Hazard was another in similar ball park.

Bottom line if he is worth £45m he is worth £60m if that is what it takes! The risk is in the initial sum. Another £15m is a footnote unless there is suddenly another bunch of options at £60m and there isn't.

Bruno has the European record for goals scored from midfield, yes stat padded by pens, but facts are facts. He is unbelievably productive.

His European record is:

1 open play goal against, 2 penalties against PSV
1 open play goal against LASK
1 open play goal against Rosenborg
2 open play goals against Qarabag
1 open play goal against Villareal
1 open play goal against Olympiakos
2 open play goals, 1 penalty against Astana

12 goals in 25 games. 11 in 19 in the EL, 1 in 6 in the CL.

On the one hand, it's a pretty good ratio. But on the other, only Villareal (and PSV at a generous stretch) is PL level. All things considered, I don't think it's fair to use the stats to make a case for or against Bruno.

Would it be fair to say that some of the teams in the Portuguese league are on the Tranmere Rovers level and it is much easier to score there from distance, same as we seen some of our guys do today?

There's loads of arguments both way on this, Longstaff is getting hounded by the Newcastle fans now and we were interested in the summer, thankfully we pulled out based on the asking price.

EL is our level right now so 11 in 19 would be pretty good for us.

He's coming, ITKs I trust are saying enough now that I trust he's coming.

About fecking time the owners put their money with their mouth is and backed Ole.

Can't wait to see us line up with him - hopefully gives the whole team a much needed lift and gets us the win in the Wolves game.

yeah not the best teams. But he can’t pick his opponents. he’s stepping up and delivering, that’s all that matters.

remember the season before Payet joined West Ham? He was producing worldie stats, he was up there amongst the best and nobody at the time had heard of him.

I don't post ITK stuff because obviously (and for good reason) it just gets mocked. And I'm certainly not anything close to ITK myself!

There's a few around that I trust (though they've been wrong before) and maybe it's just the result today steering me toward positivity, but I'm on board and I believe it'll happen.

I also believe that the match going fans turning the pressure up (at last) on Woodward has made Utd get their act together and get this over the line...

edit - I also still firmly believe that a CF will come in as well this window, either a cheaper mid-table type or a loan.

If he is the only one that is coming that isnt enough to convince me that they are really backing the club.

We need a striker as well, and a good one.

Doesn't sound like you post ITK stuff with good reason either.

Me too!

The silver-lining being that if they don't back Ole you know that they're either going to bring in a new manager or are looking to sell.

I'm just giving my opinion on it mate.

Southgate wouldn't touch Woodward and the Glazers with a 50ft pole. Not that I'm saying I'd want him ( I wouldn't) but can't see him leaving his cushy England Job voluntarily to join the circus at our club.

Pereira today should have been yet more evidence how important it is we get a 10 this window. If we're happy with that when we could get Bruno in there's clearly something wrong. It's not even good enough to keep us going until the summer when we can get another more expensive target.

Pereira didn't play as no. 10. Lingard did.

He often does though. It's usually one of the two of them. One had his first decent game in ages and the other still looked out of his depth against Tranmere. It's negligent to continue the rest of the season with those two while hoping Pogba comes back. Unless we have genuinely given up on top 4.

Yeh. I think Ole also plan to have Pogba as no. 10. His long term injury just ruin our season.

Nothing to suggest that. So far this season, Pogba had been playing in deeper role. Ole’s plan on Pogba this season could be playing him in the same role as where he plays in France national team while partner him with Scott or Fred.
