You have to wonder what the hell they were negotiating. Same story in the summer window. Took up the whole month of Januray in this one deal and we don't even get a discount and still end up playing the full amount that they requested in the beginning. Waste of time

I may have made a mistake. Its 50m pounds guaranteed. Rest are like PL,CL and BoR bonuses in which case it will be worth anyway.

Edit - may have made a mistake. Its 50m pounds guaranteed. Rest are like PL,CL and BoR bonuses in which case it will be worth anyway. Well played Ed.

Its £47m guarantee +£8.5m in likely add-ons +£8.5m in unlikely add-ons, roughly.

The numbers Castles gave were in Euros. The deal is being reported as 55M euros (£46.6m) plus achievable add-ons (including CL qualification). Precisely as reported by Castles yesterday afternoon. This is not a surprise - his association with Mendes is well known.
