Mid-season Bruno won't score 25 goals more, but he'll score and assist probably more than our whole midfield combined anyway.

Everything depends how Ole and staff will prepare him in such short time, but I think he can help us try to reach Europa League final this season... that is if Rash, Scott and Pog will fully recover reasonably fast.
Rashford, I am almost confident, is out for the rest of the season.

Good Lord. You’re probably trolling, but c’mon.. If he won the Ballon d’Or and we won the Champions League then he would be more than worth the total rumoured fee, after add ons. In fact, it would be probably be considered one of the most pivotal signings in the Club’s history.
Settle down ! Of course it would be great if we won the the CL. I was only joking . I thought that this thread could do with a bit of humour. I'll be a bit more careful next time.

Anyway, regardless from the all useless talking about his price or the timing and how it affected the rest of the month as pre usual under Woodward, he's going to be a great signing here and he's exactly what we need. I'm optimistic about him, will only need to adapt to Premier League pace and everything will be fine. Hopefully he helps us in our El campaign as it's our only way to CL next season.

I wonder if this was always the plan to hold out until Sporting blinked and dropped the price or a panic raised bid from Ed once Barca and Valencia were reported to be sniffing around.

Regardless, I think he'll be a good buy, may struggle to fit in this season mid way through, hopefully though you won;t have to wait until next season to see the best of him.

He apparently said "qualquer coisa," which literally means "anything really" but in colloquial Portuguese means "okay, whatever."

Eye watering fee as with Maguire and AWB. But i suppose that’s just the position we have got ourselves into. A mess.
Thats what and why it dragged on as long as it did.

Sporting Lisbon figured if we are willing to pay so much for defenders, imagine how much we will be paying for a high scoring midfielder.

Euros this summer, so he will have little club/training interaction again.

To think all it took was to make Ed believe Barcelona were interested. Probably got that pricks skin itching and he ended up offering more than Sporting wanted. I still won't believe it until he's wearing a chevy shirt and standing on the pitch.

This is precisely why they get paid the millions and we don't. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Its a no-win situation for the management team.

If we are signing him and for an initial £46/47 million before bonuses - IF thats the case... Finally something that looks like good business from us
If that's the final sum after those increased bids, it makes you wonder how much was the initial bid? 20m?
