Whether he'll be top drawer only time will tell. What he will be is an improvement on Perreira and Lingard. Martial, Rashford and James should all benefit from Bruno's signing and we as fans should at least see an improvment in the final 3rd of the pitch. Win / Win all round. Exciting signing.

This is an alright deal in the end. £47M initial is a decent fee.

If we had paid the full £70M straight up I would have been nervous since players from the Portuguese League who come to the English league are very hit and miss. Some are truly outstanding, some are turd beyond measure. If he is good, we pay up, no problem.

Let's hope Bruno is one of the true stars. He seems to have the right attitude to back his numbers up.

Well that's fantastic if true. Our wages have been stupidly out of whack for a long time now, this is more in line with what we should be paying until players prove their worth.
The confusion here is, we don't know whether it was gross or net wages. I don't think he will be on low wages.

I think this team finally broke me. I used to think like this but every single time this team has the chance to capitalize on the competition losing they fail.

That home loss against Burnley... :(
I know, we could be level right now. Very frustrating but considering the injuries it’s a miracle we’re even that close. Let’s hope this signing will spur us on and give us confidence.

Don’t agree. The 4th place is still up for grabs.
But the problem are the injured players. With Pogba, Rashford, McTominay out I United doesn't have the quality in the squad even with Fernandes coming in. And I guess there could be more injuries coming with the all the games United has.

Guardian saying £75,000 a week plus bonuses, even with bonuses if it ends up averaging out at £120,000 a week thats 24 million over 4 years in comparison to the 68 million Inter are giving Eriksen. With transfer fees included both players will cost about the same whilst Eriksen will be well in his 30's when his deal ends. At least if Fernandes doesn't work out he won't be difficult to move on whilst Inter would really struggle getting rid of Eriksen.

Yep - IF true, this is very good.

I said elsewhere that we could easily double his current wages without offering a silly deal - and this would be very much in line with that.

I know you want to be optimistic but Bruno Fernandes by himself is not going to change our season. It will take him time to adapt to the league, the physicality and its pace. I'm just glad we will be seeing less of Lingard and Pereira.

Too late for 4th this season I’d imagine
strange thing to say. Chelsea will drop points of that there is no doubt. We haven't so far been able to capitalize on this, but by adding much needed creativity to our midfield and goal threats with Pogba returning next month and Fernandes. It would be crazy to write of 4th place right now.

Watching UnitedStand and they're visioning:

Rashford Martial James
Fernandes
Matic Fred

Martial, Rashers and James up top. You guys are saying Fred, Fernandes and Pogba. As it seems all done, what do people think for a more defensive setup?

How does the playing style of Pogba compare to Fernandes. I don't know too much about him so wondering how all the pieces will fit

No one knows this. What we can all be optimistic about is that we have a natural no10 now. Someone who creates and scores goals from midfield. We've been crying out for it and now we have Bruno. Yes, he'll have to adapt but he's changed leagues before and he doesn't strike me as someone who will shirk the physical side of our game. He could very well be the difference in us making 4th this year.

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernandes
You were signed for an expensive fee
Replace Jesse, Fernandes
This has to be the tune for it, at least. I thought about this a while back and got as far as:

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright
Fernandes
We have to pay your club 5 million more
If you're the Ballon D'or (winner)
Fernandes

I agree with you in principle, but I think it would be asking a lot of him to hit the ground running. In any case, if he can control a ball, make a pass and not run away from responsibility, then that is already a massive upgrade.
