Hopefully he's a good signing. Never seen him play bar youtube highlights.

Reminds me of peak Lampard going by Youtube videos (which is my only data point as of now). Runs a lot for the team, scores and assists, many of his goals are deflected, and looks like a mix of number 8 and 10.

Sucks that Pogba and Bruno will not overlap. Could have been a promising midfield with them, Fred, McTom + backups rotated

Means that in the summer we still need to get a striker, midfielder and winger

Maybe yes, maybe no, but at least it wins on brevity – better than 7 paragraphs of things that didn't make sense :)
I don't care about brevity if your point is nothing. If you found the post too long or convoluted you pick the thing you disagree with the most and tell me your opinion or perception of the topic if it differs from mine. Rather than subtly bragging for no reason, what do you even want out of this conversation?

He's going to look like he's taking the piss in a playground on Saturday. A natural footballer that is wonderful to watch

It would be hypocritical to pretend to be hyped by this signing, so I'll just say welcome Bruno and hopefully things go well.

£70k a week plus bonuses..

Those wages are not handcuffing in today's game so that's good, as is the strucutre of the payments to Sporting.

I thought I did say what I disagreed with, but clearly it didn't register, maybe because it was too short? I don't like making a simple point into long-winded argument, but since you asked nicely:

1. You profile says you are Bournemouth fan. As a Bournemouth fan - why are you looking down on a Sporting player and claiming they play slower football? They don't play slower than Bournemouth! Your entire criticism was based on a presumption that he plays in a farmers' league. But he really doesn't. Top Portuguese clubs including Sporting, Benfica, and Porto can walk into EPL and have good chance of beating the crap out of any club below the top 10, including Bournemouth. On a good day - they can beat clubs even higher in EPL.

2. The league that he plays in aside, how do you watch his actual videos and conclude that he's only good at slow play? The guy is lightening fast, and has a great first touch. I don't know if he can do his tricks against the likes of VVD, sure, but I bet he would dance around even City's current defense, let alone weaker clubs.

I am sorry, but your arguments were built on a sand. There are tons of factors based on which he may or may not succeed, but "he will be closed down quickly and neutralized" is hardly one of them. It's some cliche narrative, with no legs

Has this been confirmed bu reputable sources? To me it sounds like net wages which would be about right.
It will be base wages, Pogba earns 150K per week in base wages but earns 290K per week including all bonuses. Likewise Bruno will get plenty of bonuses like signing on fee, loyalty bonus, image rights, appearance fee and other bonuses which will bump his wages.

Maybe we finally learnt how to report these wages, Liverpool journalists always report base wages so people assume they are paid nothing whereas ManUtd player wages are reported with all possible bonuses including image rights.

I hate to say it as I don't normally like to get involved in transfer debates on here (prefer to just watch the round thing roll around the green thing and talk about that), but it does seem as if Woodward got us a good deal here. £47m rising to a maximum of £67.6m in the very best circumstances seems kind of cheap if he's as good as he appears to be, and £70k is an almost absurdly conservative wage. Wasn't Ashley Young on £120k as far back as 2015?

It is worrying to see everyone expecting him to immediately be a world-beater. He'll have to settle into the pace and demands of the PL the same as everybody else. I am a sucker for football nostalgia but I do keep thinking back to the not-so-very-long-ago-in-the-scheme-of-things days when David Silva arrived at City, was pretty shit for almost an entire season, and fans and the media just accepted it because he was 'small and from La Liga' and allowed him the time to settle in and become, you know, the best PL playmaker of his generation.

Is there any possible way we can conjure up some of that sort of patience on here in case it's needed?

Using Pogba's wage structure as reference, I would say his image right is about 33%. Loyalty bonus is probably not as high but 30% is possible. This make his guaranteed wage to be 70+23+21K= 114K, say 115K. CL qualification is around 25% believed standard to all, so UP to 132.5K

The Athletic wrote that "Marcos Rojo was earning more than £100,000 per week". It's unclear if Rojo's stated wage was base or total compensation, but if fecking Rojo was earning more than Bruno will - Woodward is a highway robber.

I was very critical about our summer signings but this guy is fantastic player. Top midfielder. Great signing.
If Pogba by some miracle stays, we have world class midfield in Bruno-Pogba- Fred

Assuming Bruno's as good as the hype suggests, Pogba stays and gets back to the form he was in during Ole's initial winning run, and Fred keeps up his great form this season, I still don't think that's a well balanced midfield. I think it'd be too easy to bypass regardless of Bruno and Fred being pitbulls workrate wise. We need a more mobile version of Matic - who I still think is good and can contribute to the team - behind two of them, imo.

Unless Ole wants us to play like City in how they sometimes use Gundogan as the 6, but I can't see us completely dominating the opposition so that it's not much of an issue like them.

Yes, of course that we need defensive midfielder who is strong on ball( Brozovic is my ideal type of player for that position). But lets be realistic; we will not buy another midfielder so with players that we have Fred as dmc and Bruno and Pogba in front of him is our best trio. Or if Ole sticks with playing with no10 then Bruno on no10 with Fred and Pogba behind him.
Fred showed that he can do all dirty work with also giving tempo to our game( something what McT lacks).
Now we have excellent midfield with solid backup players in Matic and McT who can add something in some specific games. First time in years i am delighted with our midfield. I am old fashioned i guess. I want midfielders who are strong on the ball and have skill and technique. Running, fighting and work rate is great but skill in midfield wins you games, skill creates you chances and skill gives you possession.

As i said many times here; hard work and fighting spirit should not be primary trait for Manchester United player. It is important and players need to have both but skill must come first and then everything else.

I think in games we will dominate it will be fine, but I’d prefer Matić to Fred for his passing.

Finally we have a midfield with no hiccups. Fernandes, fred and Matic should be able to play smooth passes without any trouble. really wish matic didn't get that red so he could feature against Wolves. we need the win badly.

The UTD logo at the end of this is very similar to the logo used by San Lorenzo where the little Adolf plays in argentina that were apparently interested in. Its a clue.

It's not a clue.
