A very good deal. Costs next to nothing, EPL proven. And no obligation to buy if it doesn't work out.
Tbf he was class that one year in Watford (though a while ago). Good luck to him! Incredibly random and funny how it came to this but genuinely think he'll end up being a decent loan signing.
He's very good at that dummy. Decent close control. Do you have anything of him in China?

Can this thread please be done properly?!! @MyOnlySolskjaer where you at?
The thread is done. I'll add the rest if it helps you sleep better.

Based on that video the guy absolutely loves a dummy (or two, or three).

Let’s hope he turns out a better loan signing than Falcao.
Glad someone else picked up on the dummy mania. Can't wait till he sits a few people on their arses. The Caf will light up into action!

I'll be honest, I have a feeling he's gonna absolutely bang

1 - it's a loan so there's not any pressure, we'll be happy if he hits the target

2 - he seems a decent bloke

3 - this transfer reminds me of a trademark fergie signing. Not sure why.
I really hope I’m wrong but I think it’s going to turn sour fast for him. He’s been playing in China for 2 1/2 years.

I think he will struggle to score more than 3 goals.

A player who really loves United and will bust his gut for the jersey, yes please. From watching some of his goals at Watford looks like he can Poach goals which we badly need. I know it's not the most exciting signing in the world but let's get behind him !

We needed another option upfront

I'm just happy we brought a forward in. Worst case scenario he fail epicly and in that scenario we wouldn't sign him but at least he's a rotation option and eases the pressure on Martial and Greenwood a little.

I think he'll score more than that , he seems to be a consistent scorer. With Pogba back alongside Fernandes he can hopefully benefit from the extra creativity. We don't have an out and out striker apart from Greenwood at the moment but Ighalo can take the pressure off greenwood.

Let the haters hate, as they are doing on twitter. Will just make every goal that much sweeter.

How's he been doing in China RS? Very interesting signing. I'm not sure what to make of it at all. Apparently Barca were interested last year and Spurs and Inter this window (yet Jim white says Villa turned him down yesterday evening).

46 goals the last 3 seasons isn't bad. Lower league quality but it is just a loan, he might prove himself useful.

It's one of the few leagues I really don't follow so feck knows. I couldn't even tell you the relative strength of the league or quality. His international record isn't too bad though.

Same as ‘cult hero’ Henrik Larsson then.

Also, if we’re going to keep on about the league he’s come from, then that of course applies to our other signing. There are players in the Chinese league that would have never gone to the Portuguese League at the time of moving to China.

I was watching this earlier and noticed it was uploaded one week ago.

Anyone know if we were linked to him then?

No, the person who made the video has just changed the title.

Going by that and why he turned down Barca I presume he's been told he'll get plenty of game time with United. Best of luck to him, hopefully it's a loan deal to remember for the right reasons.
At Barca he wouldn't have started any game going by the quality of front 3, with Messi playing centrally and Suarez leading the line. At ManUtd we have many injuries and light in attacking positions. So he should get plenty of mins.

Also I think difference is, the league is delayed IIRC, so that should also play some role.

Where's my arc, Paulie?

The wages must've played a huge role too. Not only will he be nowhere near a starting role, but his wages at Barca must also be very low compared to his current wages in China.

His wages would be low at Manutd too, it was short term deal last year, same this year. Don't think any club will pay what these players earn in China. Apparently he earns 300K per week in China, gets around 100K per week at ManUtd.

Yeah for sure. But he barely has any competition to get into the starting line up at United. Barca is a whole different story altogether.

The pressure is on Martial now.
We have signed Bruno and His assist rate has been high for a couple of seasons now so as long as Martial gets in the positions his goal tally should increase and we also have Ighalo who is a no.9 who scores goals so he could have a partner up front if Ole is prepared to play that way.

Yeah, wouldn't have started any game for Barca. For us he should start few easily going by lack of depth and injury issues.

Well done on this one. We absolutely needed another striker and to get one like Ighalo for 6 months is excellent work.

It is going to be nice to have some options where we can actually have a striker that is in the box more, maybe actually kill off quite a few delicious balls that have gone begging.

With Rashford out and Martial not firing, he might be a useful options considering we are juggling EPL, FA Cup and Europa. I am glad we did not panic buy Joshua King and hopefully that gives our board time till summer to sort the striker issue

He is a good player. Far better option than Lingard or Mata to score a late goal when needed.

The King one was strange,
There was no way that Howe was going to sell him as he needs him and Smith firing to stay in the Premier League.

I dont know much about him but lets hope he does well. He will get plenty of chances, with Rashford out I can see Martial moving left and him playing centrally.
He once scored a brace against our neighbours from down the east lancs road, yes I appreciate that was 5 years ago but still think that it's a nice little stat to have on your resume for a Utd player who is coming to the club with many doubters. He actually scored 15 goals in the league that season which is a pretty decent return and saw him finish the seventh highest scorer overall.

He is probably not good enough to play regularly in starting lineup now, but he is good enough for backup (at least better than Lingard), after all he is Nigerian international player, and had scored 15 goals in Premier league few years ago.

You guys are missing the point why people criticize. My english is not native so pardon it.
Our club is a multi billion club, which was in need for a forward for like 2 weeks since rash injury, though I will say we desperately need a foward since we sold lukaku. That is like, what, half a year?
So you have to expect whoever in charge of this club already had a long list of players they want.
Okay, so transfer process is hard for us, everyone want our poorly spent money. Okay maybe no players want to join us (argueably), okay maybe we dont want to be tricked by greedy agents anymore, but does that justify the transfer made in the last hour of a transfer window? A loan move for a player who play in china, a player who is in love with our club (as he claimed). A forgotten player. And we have to wait till the last minute to get him?
Nope, Im not saying that he will be unsucessful, maybe he will maybe he wont, thats not the point. I, as a united fan, wish him and the club the best.
But all those transfer process, what does it say about people who run our club, who is responsible for the club future?
