If Ole was at a club that demanded results he would have been sacked by now. Our expectations aren’t as high anymore
You think Utd don’t demand success?

Wake up mate. We’ve appointed managers who were successful. The failures have been down to a myriad of reasons, appointing Ole wasn’t about low expectations.

Frank will be and should be given time. Chelsea have had a good run but the reality is that they’re not quite top 4 yet.

No we don’t demand success anymore as Ole is still in a job. Our expectations now are top 6 & a good Europa League run

Tell me what other big club would have tolerated the results & position we’re in?

We don't demand immidiate success anymore, as the board finally realize that success is built over time - on a proper foundation. Now lets just wait for 50% of the supporters to realize...

Chelsea havent won back to back games since October? They havent shown anything to show they have any worth as a team.
Even a large portion of their wins werent convincing, theyre just a strange side to judge.
Theres a sentiment here that this is the beginning of a wobble but theyve been tumbling for a while. Its why I dont think Frank will get funds in January, he has to prove he isnt a short term appointment
Jorginho, Mount, Tomori, Abrahams have more than shown their worth - among others - to suggest otherwise just isn't true. Yeah, they've been inconsistent this season, but you have to expect that from a young squad.

I think Chelsea should stick with Lampard, same as United should stick with Ole.

Villa, Watford, Newcastle.. I dont even wanna touch the madness that is your CL campaign.
Newcastle is the one, maybe its confirmation bias but it cemented the point that you dont have enough goalscorers in your side.
I dont remember the last Frank Lampard is doing a great job type performance.
They were only unconvincing if you look at score without any context.

Watford for 80 minutes was about as convincing as it got, we made it look easy and if weren't for Foster we were looking at about 0-5, it only became an battle late on because VAR wanted a say. Villa was a bit of a quiet first half but came out after half time and swarmed all over them and they simply couldn't cope. Newcastle we created about five clear chances while they didn't even have a half chance.

The only game we were a bit dodgy in our winning run was funnily enough Burnley, we were clinical and they weren't which is why we went 4 up, but the other 5 we were better than our opponents by a landslide.

I can't help but feel this is just a dig at Ole.

The boards' expectations are no lower now than they were 10 years ago. The approach may have diverted from its original path, binning the galactico approach in favor of the more traditional 'recruit young players and promote from within' approach, but the results are expected to be the same as they always were - being that of challenging on all fronts. It's just going to take a bit longer than some of our fans are prepared to wait.

This is not the thread to be discussing this in, but I'm just going to say you are wrong. That's all.

Klopp, Poch and Pep by the looks of it. *shrugs*

Now please note what the below shows is that when you're building a new project it's very rare that it doesn't come with a few bumps along the way. Klopp and Pep have both rebuilt both sides (Pep rebuilt Cities defense) and despite having patchy form still managed to come out the other end and turned themselves into beasts. This doesn't mean Ole will replicate what they've done, but it does highlight the need for patience when it comes to long term rebuilds.

We are 5 points out of the top 4. We simply did not have a team to compete for the league. He is rebuilding the club. We are playing the youth. I feel a top 4 finish would be the best possible outcome. We may swipe a cup trophy or Europa.

In regards to Chelsea they would be foolish to sack Lampard, they are fun to watch exciting but the defense is porous. They are in a similar spot as is. One portion of the team is lacking.

He should play Giroud, no idea why he's not got a look in at all? His link up play is very good and he can finish, even if a bit slow. At home against teams sitting in their own box all game he would be perfect. To me it's crazy we aren't giving him those kinds of games.

Poor Lampard - only having Abraham, Batshuayi & Giroud for that one striker role, supported by Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi, Willian & Pedro, with Mount, Barkley, Jorginho, Kovacic & Kante behind. Hes not struggling to put XI out on the field is he?

Giroud is a frustrating player and a massive fanny but he does get goals.
Quite the opposite for us anyway, outside of Europa his goal record for us has been terrible.

They have a very good squad and anyone claiming Ole has better (especially missing our best player all season to injuries) is touched in the head. They at least have multiple options for most positions. One injury doesn't mean having to choose between Pereira and Lingard.

Just in case: I'm still Ole out.

That's so easy to say now we're doing better (dus far).

In the summer prediction thread 90% of people had United firmly in the top 4 and Chelsea not even in the top six, anyone even hinting Chelsea had the better squad were laughed at to kingdom come.

People weren’t sure how well Frank would coach the team, that doesn’t mean everyone thought you had a weaker squad.

The Caf overrating their own team?

I'm shocked.

I lost count of the amount of times I had to argue against the narrative we were diving to mid table without Hazard.

There were very very few posters including Chelsea fans that predicted Chelsea to get near United in the table let alone above them.

Didn't he start West ham at home? Barely featured since that game so clearly Lampard dosen't think he fits the style.

Ambitious? Sounds like he's sending the wrong message to his team for the run in with this. Is he trying to demotivate them?

If it goes south it's not on him, a true pupil of Jose he clearly is..

Yes, had a couple of chances in that game, one especially on the rebound well saved, should have scored really. He's only had 192 (Tammy has 1842) minutes so far this season in the league total though. If he gets a run of games against teams sitting deep at Stamford bridge I'm 100% sure he'll score goals and get assists like he did last year, 13 goals & 8 assists. Granted mainly in the Europa.

Giroud still a decent striker, needs games and to enjoy his football, feel like he's rated by the manager, like all players. Wondering if there's a personality clash between him and Lampard.

Agree he won't suit all kinds of games, especially away from home, because quite slow and 33 now.

Kepa dropped.

Caballero is pretty poor though bar saving penalties so will probably be just a game or two.

Personally think dropping Kepa is a mistake, he's the fall guy now for the teams failings. All rests on results though, if Caballero plays well and we win today, all roses.

Kepa seemed to be one of the main trouble makers under Sarri. Chelsea are 6 points ahead of us with same games. Unless Bruno turns out to be a monster success, Chelsea should cruise to that 4th spot considering the squad they have.

Read some stats before (unsure if credible) that Kepa is one of the worst keepers in the league ?

To be fair, Chelsea are on track for 63 points, which is about as poor as everybody thought. What nobody predicted was that United, Spurs, and Arsenal would all be even crappier.
