You can throw as much money as you like at this team, but the lack of quality from the manager and coaching staff is always going to hold us back.
No. Throwing stupid money at mediocre players is why we're where we are today.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I don't really get the Martial bashing, isn't he at the heart of two of Fernandes shots? And he was free in the box when Fernandes chose to shot the last time.
Because he doesn't work for the team. He makes it easy for them and hard for us with his movement, always wanting it to feet. Then when he does get it he has been poor today, very weak with his back to goal.

Has to be Poch in the summer. This squad is almost made up perfectly for him.

Wolves have bloody aggressive and physical defenders and Martial is getting bullied! Not sure Greenwood would do any better so not sure what the answer is...

That's a bit steep, it's far from shambolic, we're just lacking a bit up front.

Dalot for Mata, Greenwood for Pereira and push him up front alongside Martial in a 442 with James-Fred-Bruno-Dalot; Martial-Greenwood and we'll have this cracked.
It isn't shambolic in the sense that we aren't 5-0 down but the quality of interplay between our players in pathetic. Well drilled teams are supposed to have some fluidity and patters of play that they are able to put together. We are just the same old tired ad-hoc "let's play with 10 strangers for the first time" nonesense once again. As said before we appear uncoached.

I am not going to call out anyone. What I will say is it disgusts me how often the players in our squad will pick the easy pass instead of try to open the game up. The space is there in behind Wolves. They are not defending that well. However, every time it appears the player on the ball chickens out of trying the killer pass. Some of those out there are contributing as much to our attack as the Wolves defence.

There's no one running into that space. You can't pass to nothing.

First half Bruno has looked like a great signing. He finds space, he’s not afraid of a challenge, and he’s looking to release runners - just we have only Martial doing any runs.

I think Pereira has had a good game so far, and I think he and Mata both thrive off a player like Bruno who is comfortable with passing and moving in crowded spaces.

Shaw looks done at this level, I guess he got the nod over Williams because of Traore’s physicality? I think Williams is such a better attacker that our left side is anemic. James is too raw, fast but little skill. He can and will get better, we shouldn’t be relying on him yet.

Think both dalot and Greenwood could inject something here. If both sides stay so cautious it will be 0-0 or maybe a coin toss 1-0. Id personally try unsettle them now, need to try something new. Get Martial left, Greenwood up top and dalot on right instead of James who is having a real mare. Pereira off also.

    ....... Fred... Fernandes

    Dalot..... Mata...... Martial

    .............Greenwood...

People thinking the striker is a problem when our 10 can barely get into the game  We have a awful coaching team
People having a go at Martial acting like we are wolves who are opening our defences out with scissors - we are doing absolute rubbish.

Martial needs another striker upfront and stop using players like James to create chances for nobody - Greenwood and Martial can create space for each other whilst Bruno & Mata can make chances for them.

    Such rubbish tactics.

Dalot for awb at some point please.
Or Williams... From the start for a few games too! AWB is not doing anywhere near enough to justify his place in the team at the min, but is a guarenteed starter every game for some reason. Other than slide tackles, I'm not sure what else he does???

No matter what tactics we play, it won’t work if we keep losing possession so easily so many times.
    Yes.
Wolverhampton passing accuracy is very good.
    Ours is.....not very good.
Andreas works hard but gives the ball away too often.

Hook James off for Williams and go 3-4-3...

    Linde Maguire Shaw
    AWB Pereira Fred Williams
    Mata Bruno
    Martial

Go one better and hook Pereira for Greenwood.

But nah, we'll stick with this team set up to fail and proceed to either draw 0-0 or lose 1-0.

AWB getting criticism is the wrong target.

He needs a partner on the left and he doesn't. Gary Neville was much more limited technically as a footballer, but he had Beckham in front of him created the space to give him time to make those crosses or get on the overlap. AWB has nothing to help him.

Martial has actually been working hard tonight. And the 'always wanting to his feet' is just his natural game.
He needs a partner to work with tonight yet he's getting nothing.

    On the bench.
He asked a fair question and you come up with this shit. The James hate in here is baffling, he was very good for us until he started being overused due to shittiness and injuries.
He is his rookie season and all things considered he's doing really well.

What's he supposed to do, turn his defender and dribble past the entire backline? Difficult to be an effective forward when you have James on your left who jogs at this marker and then cnuts it into their chest or AWB who has a 75% chance of losing control of his legs. I forgot we had Mata flying down our right wing putting in dangerous balls. Oh wait, he's too busy cluttering up the middle of the pitch.
Yeah it's everyone else's fault. It always is.

Let's just take a look at our front 5

    Martial
    James - Bruno - Mata
    Pereira - Fred

    Martial not a 9
    James not a Lw
    Mata not a RW
Pereira + Fred is not a functioning 2 man CM

People act surprise we look like shite and Bruno is already looking lost since no one else knows what to do.
You missed the most important factor - Ole not a manager.

Bruno Fernandes made me remember when Pogba will hold the ball for too long because he was waiting for the players to create space. No amount of creativity can help break down a defense if we can't create space

Very poor half I think. None of our attacking players playing well.

We are having massive issues with our build up at the moment, but the biggest issue we have right now is us breaking between the lines. Martial has not made runs in behind and his holding up has been rather poor. Mata and Bruno look good in a tandem, but if the players around them are making it difficult to get and stay up the pitch, their efforts become pointless. Our front line has actually been our major issue over the last 6 years. It may be time to abandon the way we attack. We simply don't have player who can attack from the flanks. I have more faith in our wingers to do this job than our attackers at the moment. We seem to spread out. We do not have enough bodies to take part in our build up, and don't have enough quality in those positions to not need those bodies. Maybe it would be best to play a 3412, allowing Fernandes to play as the 10, and using the extra man at the back to help us move the ball quicker to the front. I'm usually not a fan of a back 3 formation, but our central midfielders are really finding it difficult to get the ball up the pitch and our main striker is doing a terrible job at both holding up and getting in behind. I would bring in Greenwood for James, and Bailly for Mata.

What? He hasn't lost the ball 'every time' at all. Of course he's more likely to lose the ball with 3 defenders on his backside when AWB plays a hospital pass to him from the half-way line as he's terrified to actually commit forward himself.

We're 'attacking' with 2/3 players at most, when Wolves have 5 at the back.... you work it out yourself. Yeah Martial is the problem.
Yeah he is. He’s been shite.

People certainly have a point that the tactics make it harder for Martial but he's a poor target man and doesn't make runs. He's not going to be effective as a no 9 here without either of those

Hopefully the Maguire + Fred double team on Traore's shoulder will put him off his groove this half
