In your closet, in your head!
Even he recognizes the problem is with the board, not the manager
The problem is with the board and the manager, with the latter having a more immediate and direct impact on him.

I think Ole has demonstrated certain strengths. He's certainly helped Rashford go up a level. He made Martial look better (for a while anyway). I'd generalise and say he's made some of our attackers look better on the individual level, which is sort of expected given that he was a pretty good striker himself. However, he certainly hasn't shown any particular ability to organise his midfield or defence, or get the team to play as a cohesive attacking unit. So far I'd say Ole's main strength seems to be in coaxing individual performances from certain players. That doesn't bode well for his ability to put together a well-functioning team even if he had more time and better players.

Having a vote or discussion about sacking Ole now is pointless. He will be given the full season and will be evaluated based on that. There is plenty of time for anyone to change her/his view before that, in any direction. A break now means finally a chance to actually train. And there are two more players that needs bedding into the squad, and maybe get some players back from injury to add more quality and physics to the team. Ole is short on tools at the moment, you can´t argue with that. If we end up mid table, then bring in someone else. If we win the Europe league or finish top 4, I´m pretty damn sure there won´t be 50% among fans wanting him out. If we end up 5th or 6th, bur secure EL next season, I guess the fan base will still be split.

Lampard and Emery were mentioned because they manage/managed top 6 clubs. Also, FYI Sarri wasn't sacked!
Secondly, with Bruce- that hasnt been a consistent thing, most wins were lucky ones than tactical masterclasses but at the same time one has to admit that he has been performing admirably well.
Thirdly, how a manager performs with a team that is just shite and how he performs with a team aiming for top 4 doesn't have a high correlation. Klopp got relegated, Zidane's win record at Castilla was in 30s and one can point to many more such examples. And how is beating nearly every decent manager he's faced so far enough proof that he isn't naive tactically.
As far as your 4th paragraph is concerned, I literally said that in my earlier post that the point tally isn't justified, but the examples you've quoted are really poor. We were good in those games, missed 2 penalties and had a goalkeeping howler in the 3 games. It was just an unlucky game. You can definitely quote better examples.
And you've got to start reading people's posts before you start quoting them. The last paragraph is something that I've addressed previously so that I don't have to type it out again!
Ok so basically you’re now claiming that Ole doesn’t have a good enough squad to get Top Four? What about being good enough to win the CL?

Let us now refer to a post of yours from the beginning of the season, predicting the outcome of this season and beyond.

In terms of results :
This year- top 4 and CL
Next year- sextuple
year after that onwards- septuple and unbeaten season

In terms of performances :
This year- continue the way we are playing
Next year- top scoring team in Europe
year after that onwards- top scoring team in Europe and atleast 10 wins by 5 goal margin

:drool::wenger:
Two things are clear.

One is that you were overly excited and clearly making predictions with some light heartedness behind them. Excited because you felt this squad was capable of good things. Also obviously allowing judgement to be clouded by your nepotism and unrelenting love for Ole.

However, it is also evident that you clearly did believe our squad under Ole was very much capable of a top four finish. The same team you are now criticising for not being good enough, therefore absolving Ole of any responsibility for our poor points tally.

I quote you from today where you said “but I believe with better players, we'd be able to break deeper defences with comparative ease”

So you do now believe we need better players to win games and get top four? Which totally contradicts your prediction of top four at the beginning of the season with exactly the same set of players . So is it the players or the manager?

As I’ve consistently stated, the Ole In brigade always have an excuse. Now it’s the players not being good enough, despite the same Ole In crowd claiming Ole would have us easily in top four with this exact same squad.

They just keep moving those goalposts to protect their beloved Ole. It’s anyone’s fault but his.

I'd like to see where 35 points would put us in the table after 25 games each season. With that tally in 2013-14 we'd have been in 10th place!
18/19: 8th, 12 points off CL qualification
17/18: 7th, 15 points off CL qualification
16/17: 9th, 15 points off CL qualification
15/16: 9th, 12 points off CL qualification
14/15: 9th, 11 points off CL qualification
13/14: 10th, 15 points off CL qualification

Given that most teams around us (except Arsenal, perhaps) go through the motions but they eventually find their way in the end while we look utterly incompetent on and off the pitch, this stat shows us what we'll be looking at when the PL gets more stable again.

Liverpool and City as the title challengers and Spurs, Chelsea and probably Leicester (a very well-run club) as the top-four contenders. I guess we would have to settle with having a smiley face sitting on the edge of the bench. One that will serve as a constant reminder of our glorious past.

If SAF had of taken over a multi billion pound industry with one of the best youth academys around how long do you think it would of taken him to turn things around? There's absolutely no comparison that could be made between Ole and SAF that could justify Oles tenure with United. Nothing, nada, zilch, res.
He literally wrote the following:

And before any of you wet your knickers, no I am not comparing Ole to Sir Alex.
So why on earth bother to point that out to him?

Except that our best players are out injured, which he possibly coudn´t predict at the start of the season. Secondly, the season is not over yet.

He couldn't have predicted he'd lose players to injury which happens to every single club, every single year?

I see. You mean like when, on December 8th 2019, you predicted we’d be top four at the start of 2020? You know, when Pogba was injured but we still had Rashford, McT and Martial?

5 games left in 2019 and Chelsea will be playing both Tottenham and Arsenal away, while United have a much easier program ahead. There is a fair chance United will be starting the new years inside the top 4, imo.

So what’s the excuse for not getting that top four position? You predicted it, and we didn’t have any injuries which you “possibly couldn’t predict”? You knew the exact squad we had. We weren’t even close. We were 5-6 points off top four in early 2020.

So if it wasn’t the players fault since you felt they could achieve top four, and it isn’t Ole’s fault either, then what’s the excuse now? Maybe it’s God conspiring against us. No other fathomable reason is there?

If Spurs and Arsenal weren't as shit as we are then United would be mid table. Cos they are as crap it's masking Uniteds piss poor manager. Still think we'll finish below both and Everton as well. If Sheff Utd finish above us surely he'll be sacked.....surely?

This is the question Olein fans can't answer. What in Ole's resume makes you believe he can turn things around ? They like to point to SAF and Klopp. But both managers had expereince and years of proven success that warranted giving them the benefit of the doubt. Ole has the opposite, he got a team relegated.
The results are not there ? We are on track for worst point total in decades. He has had poor to little experience. Based on all of that any sane club would let him go.

No, his fans have already made it clear that the results don't matter until they think they do because the process takes time and so this constant evaluation of progress is tedious. Tables are for losers or something.

At least the "but we're fifth" excuse is gone for now. But given the 'Ole in brigade' have a plethoea of excuses ready and waiting, we'll be hearing the new ones reeled out soon enough.

If that is an excuse then so is "but we're seventh", it goes both ways. We earned our place on the league table, and now so have Spurs.

A 55 point season is what we'll achieve. Is that enough for the Ole Inners to keep believing? That will be the worst return since 1989/90.

Hmm. I hope you know that we've lost Pogba to injury, Martial has been out injured for much of the season, McTominay has been out for a month now and now Rashy as well. Surely you see that we've lost our best players this season to injuries and like I said earlier we have paper thin squad.

Also, talking of previous posts, I came across this piece :

0/10

Hear me out. A transfer window is there in order to strengthen the squad. Overall, I believe we are weaker with huge gaping holes in our midfield and a severe lack of creativity.

Solidifying defence is all well and good, but completely useless if the rest of the squad is waning.

If after a transfer window, the squad is worse than before the window opened, there can be no claim that the window has been remotely successful, despite Maguire and AWB. We are heading for 6th or worse, so no better than last season. Hence, zero advantage has been taken from this transfer window, so it stands that 0/10 is a fair and logical rating.

Had we invested in midfield enough to warrant a likely 5th place then I’d say 2-3/10. Fourth? 4-6/10 depending on football played gaining that position. 3rd? 7-8/10. Of course 2nd should be our aim, and since we only finished 2nd a few seasons ago under JM, it shouldn’t be deemed unrealistic. Had we assembled a team capable of realistically challenging for second place, then this window could be a 9/10. Only winning the league could warrant a 10/10.

Too many fans accept mediocrity these days. This window is wholly unacceptable, if we bring no one else in.
I hate quoting earlier posts but it works both ways. You literally predicted 6th or worse. That's perfectly as per your expectations because you believe that this side is capable of only that much! So, the question comes up, are we really underachieving as per your rating of the squad!

Thanks. This is absolutely damning and a nail in the "Ole has us in 5th/6th with this squad so he's doing something right" argument.

I see that kindergarden is open sundays. Let’s mock Solskjaer, players and all the others who understands that things takes time. Let the name calling begin at those who havn’t pressed restart button on FMgame for 100th time this evening.

Changes takes time.

Changes take time guys. 200 odd million spent and we are playing far worse than when he initially took interim charge. On course to break all sorts of unwanted records too.

Nice try matey, but your man has now spent over 200m and isn't getting a tune out of them.

35 points. Abysmal.
On the plus side were probably going to stay up but we need a new manager.

They have plenty of excuses-

Crap players
Crap/thin squad
Ed's fault
Injuries
Needs 3 years

I'm sure there's a few I've missed too.

Those fans deserve a manager like Ole, but why should the others struggle. The club is supported by 600 m around the world and they deserve better than this shit show.

He is not qualified to do this job and he will undermine Poch's job, he should be nowhere near the club. In fact he should be back in Norway, his actual level of football.

It’s so frustrating. If a change has been made pre-transfer window, where would we be?

I assume we would be comfortably in the top 4 with a chance of actually challenging for 2nd place.

It feels like the season is lost now and I am just hoping that a deal has been made for Poch in the summer. He can’t be here in August, can he!?
