Because the Schalke chairman is an absolute cnut of a human. I’m too old now to be bothered about club rivalries to the extent some are on here, it’s just a game.
The rivalry is a big part of the flavor for me.

I couldn't imagine supporting United and not despising everything related to Liverpool.

Is he? I'm not very clued up on their owner. What's he done or supposedly done?

I'm not saying I don't enjoy it. I don't want Liverpool to win the title and I would love them to lose every game but I'm not going to start wanting another team to do badly just because the current Liverpool manager used to manage them, that's just weird to me but each to their own.

Wolfsburg have been my team in the Bundesliga since 1997. Followed them quite closely for some of those years.

Seen a couple of games this season, unfortunately people seem more interested in Dortmund-Schalke than Augsburg-Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg haven't lost since January, whilst Augsburg have won one in last 9. Should be a win for Wolfsburg.

When I was younger Wolfgang Wolf managed Wolfsburg, good times for a kid with a simple sense of humour.

It is perhaps going a little too far, admittedly. I think it goes to show how desperate we are for a little football action.

I'm sticking with Shalke anyway. I can only name two of their players but that's fine.

Utd - Leverkusen in 2002 was one of my first ever games (maybe my first?), so I'm plumping for Leverkusen as my adoptive team. They had a really decent team back then, with Hans-Jorg Bütt, Zé Roberto, Ballack, Lúcio, Nowotny, Neuville, a one Dimitar Berbatov. CMON FOOTBALL.

People here talking about the Bundesliga like we’re tuning into the Cambodian 3rd division. Adopted clubs and all that nonsense.

Was it really this few people that watched German football before the pandemic?!

Is it that surprising when their games are usually on when the Premier League is and this site is primarily a United forum with large percentage of the membership who mostly watch the Premier League only?

Yeah I think it is surprising. I don’t expect it to be the most watched league in the world obviously but didn’t think it was this obscure to so many.

There's a difference between watching it and investing in it. Now I'm all in on *checks notes* Die Fohlen. Go team!

Also Bernd Schneider, who was considered an exceptional technician during the dark years of German football and Ulf Kirsten (though deep into his 30s), who was perhaps Bundesliga's counterpart to Alan Shearer.

BVB bench: Hitz - Sancho, Götze, Balerdi, Morey, Hazard, Schmelzer, Führich, Raschl
------------------------------Bürki
------------Piszczek---Akanji---Hummels
Hakimi-----Dahoud-----Delaney------Guerreiro
------------Brandt-------------------Reyna
---------------------------Haaland
That's a really sad selection for Dortmund: Zagadou, Can, Witsel, Reus and Sancho would be starting for sure under usual circumstances. Dahoud used to be lucky to get 10 minute cameos, Delaney has been injured all season - now those two have to control the midfield - Akanji had successfully blundered his way out of the starting XI as well.
Brandt has been best as a CM, a bit meh in a more advanced/wide role, Reyna is talented, but only 17 years old. I would expect this to be a rough match even if it wasn't for all the Corona distractions.

Sancho was reported to have fitness/injury issues, but Hazard being on the bench is a bit curious.

Also; does this mean BT and Sky are going to try start charging people again? I was given a 3 month pause period for BT Sport which I suppose will be coming to an end soon. I don't want to start paying again just because the Bundesliga restarted, though I can see them trying to use it as an excuse.

Did Reus find a way to get injured in lockdown or has he got yet another long term injury? I lose track.:(

I am totally lost. Remind me please, how do one find river(s) these days. Completely forgot about it. Ah, the good old days.
All the games are being streamed on Bet365. Just stick a fiver on Haaland to score anytime and you should have enough to cover Sunday and Monday games. :D

Completely forgot three Bundesliga 2 games were on at midday so caught the end of the Bochum match.

Definitely, great team, great club history, big loyal fanbase with great support; they were in no mans land for ages but really turned it around in the last decade, qualifying regulary for European spots.

Why does it feel so surreal and weird having football back, it feels like its been years.

Yeah I was wondering this too. I hope its when the PL start, but who knows, not like there was a contract with small print was there?

Yeah I used to like thme around them and also that cool team a few years back with De Bruyne supplying endless assists for Bas Dost. Wolfsburg seemed to become new Hamburg last few years with all the relegation play offs but improved this season.

Personally I always enjoy watching Bayer Leverkusen play, their 4-3 win over Dortmund in February was one of the matches of the season in any league. They're playing on Monday v Werder Bremen who are in real danger of getting relegated so looking forward to that one.

Dortmund-Schalke should be decent though as that Dortmund defence always gives you a chance on the break. Didn't Schalke come from 3 down in this fixture last season?

Feels reasonably normal with teams on the pitch and music blaring out....then the camera pans to the empty stands. Ah well.

It seems really weird that the sub bench is wearing masks and sitting apart but then the players on the field are huddled next to each other with no masks.

The masks and the bench distance seems absolutely pointless.

Whats the point of walking out wearing a mask if the teams walking out with gap between players and both teams come out separately... the mask was so pointless.. and right after it was taken off, all players started rubbing their face..

McManannaman talking about form going into this match.

Does he know what’s happened over the last two months?
