It's almost as if they aren't going to just capitulate when there are months before the transfer window closes! 'We won't negotiate from £115m' is exactly what Dortmund should be saying right now before accepting £90-100m later on. They aren't going to weaken their hand by saying Sancho can leave for x.
Isn't this what happened with Maguire? Leicester said the price was 80m from the get go and we ended up paying that

News like this is nothing
Yep after a string of nothing threads (starting with that legendary sneidjer saga), one quickly realises these guys will feed United transfer news even when nothing is happening because of the traffic our massive fanbase brings.

Many premier league clubs would take Jones, he'd probably walk into the Arsenal defence right now and many others in the lower half like Palace, Newcastle etc.

Rojo is apparently going back to Argentina, Boca Juniors want him ( doubt we'd get more than 5-10m)

I have to disagree with this. Arsenal would not buy Phil Jones. As for the likes of Palace and Newcastle; is he any better than Tomkins or Lascelles?
He had potential as a youngster but he has nowhere near reached that potential. Playing for United doesn't guarantee you will start for other Prem clubs. Look at Welbeck and Cleverly. Neither can get in Watford's 11. We should have allowed his contact to run out last summer.
As for Rojo, £5 mil max with the wages he's on and the types of clubs who will buy him.
Sanchez will have to be a free transfer for any club stupid enough to take on his wages.
Anyone who thinks we will get more than £10 mill each for Lingard and Perreira is also being very optimistic.

Sanchez seems to want to stay at Inter, we probably would get a small fee to negate the wages.

No way Arsenal buy Jones. As for the likes of Palace and Newcastle; is he any better than Tomkins or Lascelles? He had potential as a youngster but never came close to reaching it. Just because you have played for Utd does not mean you start for mid table Prem clubs. Look at Welbeck and Cleverly. Neither can get in Watford's 11. No one will take on Sanchez's wages unless it's a free transfer. He's the highest paid player in the Prem.

Also anyone who thinks we would get more than £10m each for Lingard and Perreira is living in Dreamland. We will get next to nothing in terms of player sales this summer (unless we sell Pogba).

If he comes to United I'll fly to Manchester and walk half the city naked, that's how sure I am he ain't coming to us.

...Ed please make me appear on tv.

But weren't we in for Bruno the whole summer and then missing out on him while we let go Ander Herrera. Bruno was signed after things got out of hand in the Winter transfer window to the extent of Woodward being doxed.
But I do hope we don't dither on Sancho.
We were briefing we weren't interested in the summer.

Pre-pandemic though. Dortmund have already been bailed out financially once this century (with help from Bayern). They don’t have the finances that a top half premier league team do.

If Dortmund needed money I'm sure we would have seen reports if their financial situation was bad. They also would have sold Dembele for less

How much do you think we could screw them for on this deal? If it’s true that they barely have the funding a top half PL side does then they must be needing cash... and soon.

Reports that Lampard is supposedly behind Chelsea dropping out of the race for his signature

The links made even less sense after the Werner news given all the forward options they already have along with the rumored interest in Havertz.

Sounds like we've got a clear run at him this summer and I hope we make the most of it given how different the market will be in a years time...

Actually Lampard has been calling out for another striker for a while, he was quite vocal about it in January too. He clearly doesnt rate Batshuay and Giroud to start.

It is like us saying we have too many CAM's in Lingard / Perreira.

True but Dortmund is an industrial town with little marketing. They don’t get the sponsorship income other teams do. Without their fans in the stadium that’s a big hole to fill for them. I’m sure they could hold out this summer if they really wanted to but it may come at the expense of strengthening their own team.

It looks like Gotze is being replaced by Gio Reyna in the squad and they have Brandt, Hazard, Reus and Haaland even if they do sell Sancho.

If they sold Sancho for anything over £80m that would fund a big chunk of their expenditure.

Regardless, the opportunity for us might not be in bringing the overall package down but in how it is structured. Dortmund may have demanded a large part of the fee up front whereas they should hopefully be a bit more flexible in that regard. Maybe we can negotiate something like an £80m fee split over 4 years with £20-30m in bonuses. Maguire was a straight £80m in cash which really hurts from a cash flow perspective.

Goes to show the financial power United possess, when it is a player that they think is needed. Not many teams will be able to afford £80m straight cash having bought AWB for £50m. Even though we got some of the Lukaku money to offset. We also went and spent £50m on Bruno in january.

lads I think we're about ready to enter the preparing a bid stage
Weve got 9 PL games to secure CL football first. And then possibly EL get out of jail card in August should be need another route in.

Cant see us signing or preparing anything tbh just yet. If we don't make the CL this deal has little to zero chance of happening anyway. That's another 60m hit on top of the 100 estimated for Covid. I think us getting CL football is a must if we want him this summer.

If City's ban is upheld we would need to shit the bed to miss out on CL.

Liverpool are now favourites to sign him apparently.

What a circus this is.

I honestly feel Sancho will go to the club what meets Dortmund’s asking price and they might or might not be us.
Where did you get this from?
