It's time to think the unthinkable - Liverpool could throw away the title

Liverpool can lose all their matches from now on, still no team catch the point deficit. City would need something like 8 wins out of their 11 games.

If City win their game in hand it’s 19 points. Stranger things have happened.
Well, there are 10 matches left. If City win all their games, Liverpool still have to lose 6 (since we´ll beat City, make it 7) and draw 1. If stranger things have happened, this would at least make it to the top 3 list.

Not happening, but it would be the most beautiful collapse in football history, or in history full stop.

Not a chance.

Edit: However, I will take the scenario where they completely flub the rest of the season and finish below 100 points.

After they lose to City and Everton the gap is 13.

If they lose to Chelsea, Everton and City in the next games, this is going to be interesting. I bet Klopp will never again ask for a winter break.

They obviously won't lose the title, but it's looking like 2019 was their year. Been looking pretty average since then. They'll stumble over the finishing line and a few players will think it's probably a good time to jump ship.

Now that our unbeaten record is gone I hope we lose at least another game just to keep this thread going. It's gold. :D
It's probably just one or two posters who really think you could throw it away. Otherwise everybody including your own fans know it's done and dusted.

So do we..

Congrats on winning the prem, you deserve it this year, but you won't be establishing any kind of long term dominance.

Have your fun at our expense for now sir.

What happened to the gaffer here banning liverpool supporters anyway... ;)

Liverpool WILL win the league. But I hope they crash out of the CL. With the way they play like today and 1 down deficit against Atletico, NO chance they will win Atletico in the second legs. Simeone is not dumb. I wouldn't underestimate Simeone.

I don't care if they win the league, I just want to see the current CL champions crash out of the CL, haha.

If this loss had happened in early to mid January then there would have been a chance..
We had a run of three games where we played United, Spurs & Wolves. After we won those three I said we’d won it.

Our remaining fixtures are fairly kind. The home games are Bournemouth, Palace, Burnley, Villa & Chelsea. Win four of those and we’re over the line. The away games are harder. Everton, City, Brighton, Arsenal & Newcastle.

I predicted before the start of the season that liverpool would tire physically and mentally over the winter period, but it didn't happen. You can say that if you had had one defeat or a few draws that maybe it would have dented confidence a little and given more belief to other teams, so it's all maybe's and luck, momentum and of course good play from yourselves.

I do believe and I'm sure you're expecting it yourself, that there will be a slight dip and/or injuries etc at some point. Have you hit that point now? We'll have to wait and see.

The real test hehe will be next season, and if the levels both physically and mentally can be maintained. I thought you would have slipped up this year a bit earlier, but maybe the slip or drop off will be next season.

Still, it's painful to say, but congrats for the title this year.

Them winning the league now is a mere formality. Withe respect to the title, all eyes on next year now.

I don’t think we will win it next season. We’ve got the Euros plus Salah, Mane & others off in January to the AFCON. It wouldn’t surprise me if City came back strong next year to win it again.

If City doesn't get relegated to EFL League Two, for being financial frauds...

I think Watford have a chance.. ;)

The gaffer here is not running RAWK. ;)

It's nice the number of people that have taken me off ignore since yesterday. I've had many responses. :) Regardless, I thought this was a weak league with potentially Pep leaving City + City finding it tough to replace Aguero, two CBs, Silva, etc, with all this FFP scrutiny.

And Klopp not leaving this summer. I'm confused reading where LFC are on Redcafe. A bit all over the place.

Tbh at this minute it's got to the point I hope they draw/lose so I can wind my LFC supporting mates up.

Remarkably, even at a time like, they still bite and get mad at even the slightest bit of bait.

It would be top of the list . It’s bigger than Barcelona 99

City don't have it in them, even if Pool went on a bad run City are not winning 10/11 in a row

It's really not possible.
They would need to lose 6 & draw 1 of their last 10 while City win every game.
Just not going to happen.
Had a good laugh last night all the same!

1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses in their last 5 games in all comps. Could still be on lads.

I’d pay unspeakable amounts of money to see it, but no chance.

They've not been great for a while now, obviously the extended break has changed things in that respect.
They obviously won't throw it away but I can see them dropping more points before they win it.

It is totally dead. We need to accept it. Even if Palace smash them 3-0.
Just knowing they have Arsenal left which is 3 super easy points.

They look gassed for sure, but they are too far in the lead to throw it away.
