Not sure Ole will change much unless there's injuries, perhaps Fred in midfield to add more mobility and tenacity, of course some are forgetting Southampton are in decent form in their recent games, Palace haven't been playing well, we`ll win this.

Need a positive from this, hopefully the Southampton draw will give the players a fright.

Hoping for a good result from Burnley tomorrow and the blades on Thursday and then if we can win, we’re back in the game for top 4....which sounds slightly depressing when you’re relying on Burnley and Sheffield United to help get us in the top fecking 4!

    How times have changed.

    HELLO
The Leicester match before this is huge. They win and the pressure is really on. Should really be played alongside each other.

feck relying on the defence though. Martial/Rashford/Greenwood/Fernandes/Pogba is a must.

We need a huge win to compensate in GD. Would feel very uncomfortable if we need to go to Leicester needing to win (well, needing to draw won't be nice too, but better than needing to win).

With regard to the team, I guess the same as usual, with Dalot starting in the left-back position.

We just need to win. That's hard enough on its own. Leicester have Spurs coming up which will be a tough one.

The quicker we get the 2/3 goal gap between us and Palace the better. The longer the game goes on the more tired the players are going to get and the more likely a late Southampton-esque goal could happen.

Ideal situation? 3-0 by half time. The reality? let's see

Tough to predict - going to assume Shaw and Williams are both out.

Dalot seems so far out of favour too.

    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Fred
    Pogba - McTominay
    James - Bruno - Rashford
    Martial
Yeah, I think Fred will start at LB. He tends to drift towards that flank and help out on that side anyway. He seems a better option for that flank than Dalot.

    No Greenwood?

I can see us winning this match. Ole must have drilled the Soton match into the players heads. A must win for us to take the 4th spot. Any scoreline will do as long as a win.

Well yeah, we need to win. But it would be good if we can also improve GD, so we don't need to win in the final match.

I don't trust United-postSAF to do the job done. When the pressure is up, they seem to fail. I still remember that fecking West Ham match when we were fighting for UCL while they were fighting for nothing and yet we lost.

Zaha v Fred?? No thank you. Need a proper defender in there or move to 3 at the back with AWB and James as Wingbacks

    We all love United
These schedules and kick off timings are absolutely horrible. We play Palace on Thursday and Chelsea get an extra two days recovery before the cup semifinal against us. We play Soton on Monday night when we could have played it on Sunday

It was their very last match at Upton Park and they were duty-bound to try and put on a performance, plus our players were obviously badly shaken up by the Coach being attacked en-route to the Stadium. Hardly bottling it.

To be fair though. I'll be surprised if Lampard isn't going to rest his players in FA cup since he has Liverpool next. This won't matter much since both sides (us & them) are probably going to rest majority their players.

Surprised to see so many put Dalot in at LB, given that a twisted ankle could well mean Shaw is out and concussion would rule Williams out, what about Laird?

We looked spent on Monday so much think it’s time for Ole to be bold and rest some players. Lindelof, Shaw, Matic, Bruno, Greenwood to be replaced by Bailly, Laird, Fred, McT and Ighalo

I'd be inclined to give Dylan Levitt a game here. If he's fit that is.

I assumed he'd play more on the left and will be up against AWB. I suppose he could switch flanks or play in a free role.

In general I'd like to see AWB up against him for most part. He'd know all about defending Zaha obviously.

Not going to be easy. We hate long ball into the box and CP thrive on it. Not a good combination. Like we saw against chelsea , no lead is safe against them and they can raise their game when ever they want to. Hope we are clinical as they usually finish the match stronger.

So many posts about resting players. Who and what are we resting players for??

Palace is the most important game of our season. We can rest most of them on the cup game v Chelsea.

You sound like Liverpool fans speculating back in 2014 that an 8-0 win at Palace could still get them back in contention for the title.

I'd take a 1-0, no questions asked. After Monday's performance I have very little faith that we can win this.

What makes this game similar to playing Southampton?

Premier League game against a mid-table team, at a time when we're under pressure to keep our Champions League hopes alive.

Shaw and Williams both available apparently.
Those asking to rest players are moving mad.

They are no where near as good as or in the form of Southampton

I have complete faith in our ability to lose to terrifyingly awful teams. It's not like there isn't enough precedent from the last seven years. Remember Huddersfield away last season? Or Cardiff home? We got two points from our last five games last season and I'm afraid we might collapse the same way.

    I still haven't recovered from this -

I was living down the road at the time so Palace was an easy ground to get too, and cheap too.

So it was a nightmare day. However I returned a year or so later to see Law score a hattrick when we hit them for 5. We are in white in this clip

When is Ole’s press conference for this game?

I hope we have one of Shaw or Williams available for this. I don’t trust playing Dalot at LB.

Just realised now that Chelsea will get 2 days extra rest for our clash in the FA Cup Semis, by virtue of playing Norwich on Tue.

I was almost relieved when I saw Chelsea won.

Not because I want them doing well or anything, but just because our lads seem incapable of ever capitalising on their slip ups. We should win now they have.
