I'd love for us to get him and rotate him with Matic in a CMF/DMF position, until he eventually phases out Matic. Splendid player.

Money being the keyword. According to some Munich media this is the bit standing between him and Bayern for a new contract, they offer 15Mio a year, he wants 20.

Not too many clubs with that kind of money to spend on a defender....
City probably would as its not their money so they don't care. PSG the same.

If we lose both Alaba and Thiago in one window, that's a lot of quality missing at once. I don't like any of that.

Would be a perfect signing for us. I mean he’d probably be our best LB, LCB, and possibly DM if we signed him

In the end he'll sign extension.
100%. They have Goretzka so it makes sense if they can afford not to extend Thiago who's already 29. They can't afford to lose Alaba. They got 32 yo Boateng and injury prone Hernandez, in additional he can provide LB backup.

He's in a fotoshoot with our next season's Bundesliga away kit. I'll take it as a good sign

Anyone else think we should be all over this ?
I can only see him going to Barca or Real to be honest. Pep might have an outside shot, but those clubs won’t pay him €20m p.a. this window that he seems to be asking for.

I still believe he is just playing hard ball for his extension, but we would sell at 36m€?! That would be a desaster, i value Alaba for Bayern well higher than Sane for example.

@Mainoldo has already said it.....for example Arsenal's new kit photos were taken in February.
Yeah but the pictures were released just now. So it's probsbly a feckup by the PR department either because they didn't pay attention, or because they spilled the beans.

It means we can have both Alaba and Thiago for around 70milions and cover Lb, Cb and Dm with Alaba and Dm, Cm, Am with Thiago. :D add Sancho to those two and we will have the best window in a decade. Not gonna happen anyway.

Yeah there is no doubt they would provide so many cover options but like you say never gonna happen in a million years

Would be a superb signing but not for 400k wages. Is his agent drunk?

400k Euros is actually less than what we are paying to a declining keeper every week.

He's been a very valuable part of Bayern for a long time and he rarely gets the praise he deserves. Sule has been injured, same with Hernandez, and Alaba has been able to slot into CB alongside Boateng which has enabled Flick to get Davies on as LB/LWB. Alaba and Kimmich are two Bayern players, along with Pavard, I really appreciate and like. Smart, very sound, very reliable, great temperament, and very versatile players.

That's quite a high wage for a defensive first type player regardless of how important he is to the club. If Lewendowski asked for those wages, that'd be a no brainer but Alaba, not so fast.
