They've had a different chalk for a few years, but I didn't realise players can pick and choose which to put on their cue.Bit of a newbie to Snooker. Didn't even know that was a thing until he mentioned Ronnie changing his

Ronnie basically told them to up their game. If they wilt under a few words in an interview, they aren't going to win when it counts.
I experimented with a few chalks last year, settled on Predator 1080 for American Pool with a Kaumi Clear super soft tip. For Snooker and UK pool I still don’t think you can beat a Blue Diamond with green triangle chalk.

Changing the white isn’t that uncommon. A slightly lighter or heavier white than normal massively affects positional play. Changing a full set of balls due to kicks is pretty rare though

I want McGill to run Wilson close but him winning is pointless, he’d get brushed aside in the final.

Can sense how frustrated Ronnie is. If he doesn't win this match feels like he may throw a wobbly like never seen before. Could even see him retiring in the heat of the moment.

It's so weird watching this though , every time Ronnie steps up to the table irrespective of where the balls are he just plays an aggressive shot within 20 seconds while Selby is exactly the opposite
To be fair, I think Ronnie getting bored and trying to pot everything was about what people were expecting at least at some point in this match.
I'll be delighted if Selby wins.

Is it just me or does it seem like there are less centuries overall nowadays than say 5-10 years ago? I feel like the standard of snooker as a whole in the big tournaments has dropped a fair bit in that time but I could be wrong.
It is just the McGill effect... The record number of centuries at the Crucible was last year, I think.

Nah.... we're at 71 already. So 80ish not massively out of the question even with McGill, which would make it one of the most prolific Worlds....last years was massive at 100, then two at 86 from 85-86, one with 83..
Selby isn’t fun to watch.
it’s nice when players have a mistake in them and the game can swing at any point.
Once Selby gets a couple of pots, I can pretty much bank on the frame being done whenever I watch him.
Ronnie is very beatable. Keep him off the table for 10 minutes and then play a safety. He’ll rush it and leave you a free pot.

i used yo be a fan, still kinda am compared to the others, but i went to the ni open game vs Higgins with my brother and he seen this on twitter this morning, triggered the bad memories

I think it's selective memory. I would be interested to see the breakdown of centuries if you only evaluate quarter, semis and finals of tournaments down the years.
Selby with a century to start the day but then gifts the next frame away with a terrible miss having done all the hard work. 11-7 would have been curtains
As good a player as he is, there’s a reason O’Sullivan hasn’t won this in 7 years. It’s too big an ask for him to stay at the right pitch for 2 weeks.
Selby is going to be kicking himself at the break , he should have won all 4 and somehow he has thrown away 2 frames

Good battle this you can feel the nerves in it, being two behind isn’t too bad for Ronnie as long as he can keep the head together.
Don’t know how anyone can like Selby. As dull as dishwater both on and off the table.
