They would be absolute morons for not paying 30 mil for him. Shows how heavily effected they are by the coronavirus, first couldn't buy and now not playing 30 mil for a world class midfielder.
It seems to be an FSG strategy more than affect of the pandemic. They did the same with the US franchise. Once they win, they tend to tail off spending and invest in structure. Maybe to sell?

Reasonably quick for his size but not explosive by any means. Am still unconvinced he’ll make it there, had no standout attributes when I watched him.
Yup, that's what I thought as well. They might just go with a different approach and have him back up Yussuf Poulsen. Having Poulsen as the lone target man with Olmo and Nkunku working off of him can work, too.

I don’t really understand why Liverpool wouldn’t be able to spend that kind of money though.

Or maybe i dont write bullshit against people who i dont know just by looking at few interviews?
You need some sort of intelligence to form an opinion of what you see, hear, and read. Something you are quite incapable of.

Huh, are Villa backtracking now knowing Ed won't be stupid enough to pay 80 million, or there is no ensuing bidding war? Would love to see Grealish at United, but hell not for 80 million.

Yeah it is starting to sound like that figure hasn't come from the club after all as many media outlets were initially reporting

Wonder how large scale these changes will be... I’m asking for a middle eastern friend who wants Messi in his team now that FFP is proved worthless...
I’d love to see Messi in the PL and if that means going to City, so be it. Could mean less titles for Liverpool.

Other than him, if Barca are having a fire sale this summer, who would you take you if we didn’t have to give them massive wages to convince them and they don’t include a human that should forced to wear a cone around their neck.

Despite the age will throw in Alba as a suggestion and if we can't get Sancho then would definitely look at a loan deal for Dembele as well

There were a bunch of rumours about Bartomeu letting go of Abidal as part of the changes in the club. According to COPE, however, Bartomeu will keep Abidal in the club.

Translation:
Bartomeu decides to keep Abidal in the Technical Secretary [role], despite the fact that the decision is not unanimously supported by the board.

The president believes that they need someone who is up to date with the club for the transfer market.
Basically, Bartomeu trusts his ability to assess players and whether they can fit into the club with the hopes of avoiding potential misfits like Griezmann.

Ideal for the wide ranging restructuring of the first team

I’d rather not tbh. Doubt any of them would have their heart here. We need to continue rebuilding the culture of this club, and that is not done by getting players simply because they are not wanted at their current club. If that was not a factor though, i’d easily find room for Frenkie de Jong. Maybe consider Ter Stegen. Don’t feel i know enough of their defenders to warrant wanting any. Messi is ofcourse a given, no discussion. Griezmann and gag-ball are no-go’s.

It's gone mad quiet around us. I'm starting to have a really bad feeling about this summer.
Yeah, there's still a lot of time and transfers aren't always straightforward but I'm getting the feeling this will be similar to our 2018 summer window where we signed Fred and Dalot to build on a 2nd place finish.

Yeah that would be a proper kick in the balls for Ole if he ends up getting the same pathetic backing in this window that Jose got in summer 2018

Silva offered himself to Valencia and they turned him down. Damn, they're a mess.

If that happens, it will be proof positive that CL qualification is the extend of our ambitions at boardroom level. I am extremely worried that we will not strengthen.

I cant argue with Mata leaving but I would find it bizarre he finds the exit before Lingard and Pereira

Why would Sociedad need to contact him “secretly”? Silva’s contract ran out, didn’t it? Or does he mean it in a “this is why I didn’t get the exclusive beforehand” kind of way?
Nothing to do with not getting an exclusive, not everything you see online is a lie

Sociedad just contacted him & nothing got leaked or briefed to the media.

Happens all the time in transfers, United will look at more players that what’s said in the media and more clubs will come in for United’s players without it leaking to the media

“secret” is just a way of making it sound sexier when all they did is contact him
