He's as healthy as it gets so hoping he will be closer to the asymptomatic side of the spectrum.

This thread certainly has more posts quoting Class of 63’s own bizarre post than ‘get well soon’ messages for Paul

Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
In my uneducated opinion, he’s probably asymptomatic, and will be be fit and ready to go as soon as he tests negative.

If we can't beat Palace at home without any one player we're really in for a struggle this season.
We couldn’t last season tbf, so +Bruno -Pogba, considering we look like we aint signing Sancho, doesn’t exactly reassure me. The state of us is really shit right now.

Contrary to popular belief, elite athletes are quite often more vulnerable to mild diseases than your average fit and healthy person.

I hope he'll recover soon, I guess he'll be all right in a week or 2, hopefully negative.
It may damper our start of our season and I hope there wont be more players positive.
Ok I don’t know much about this self-isolating thing, but if he only recovers in a week or two, I think he has to keep self-isolating for two more weeks after that, almost certainly ruling him out of the Palace game.

I'd be interested in seeing some evidence of this.
I'll try and find the long read I read a few years ago on it. Basically it boiled down to regular exercise and a good diet being excellent for you, but the demands of being an elite athlete can have negative effects for your health and your immune system. Basically you can be fit to compete at an elite level, but still unhealthy - and vice versa.

I hope he gets well soon and that there's no long-term complications.

All in all, it might be good for him to be out for the first few games. He's our best midfielder but we've got replacements and it will probably be good for him (and others) to have a break at some point anyway. It'll be a long season given the short break.

Back in Souness days no player and I mean no one would have ended up infected with Covid-19

Pogba has had multiple medicals. The last one being 4 years ago before he made an 89 million pound move. If they didn't detect anything with his health, then I'm not sure what the point of those medicals are.

If his wife didn't think there would be a chance of her catching the virus then maybe she needs to think more.

Healthy young people die of other things too and the real number of deaths we will never truly know as some hospitals are incentivized to report covid deaths. Keep living in fear and hysteria though, only 2 more weeks I promise.
evidence?

Of course hospitals are incentivised to report COVID deaths. Most health systems will have a list of notifiable diseases that are a legal requirement to report because of the danger of them spreading. That’s basic health protection and not tinfoil hat craziness.

What will Souness say!
Pogba.. you know.. he has so much potential, but you've got to question his attitude if he isn't keeping himself locked in a cube 24 hours a day to prevent getting coronavirus. He left himself wide open there Gary! if I were Ole Gunnar Solskjaer I'd have serious questions for him.. err.. from a distance.

Over exercise surpresses the immune system.

I don't understand how requiring hospitals to report cases of harmful and infectious diseases incentivises them to do so.

Shite, but he's strong enough and I'm sure he will recover from it fast. Get well soon.

If the experts are right, Pogba himself will be just fine. Who we need to worry about are the people he’s been around lately.

For everyone, get better soon!!!

CAF should send him a get well card on the behalf of that poster.

Dear Paul,

We are not your biggest fans, but do get better. Oh and also a speedy recovery.

Your Haters

Only read the conclusion but that just talks about 'regular or frequent exercise' which is different to pushing your body to the absolute limits.
"Indeed, to this day, it is perceived by many that a vigorous bout of exercise can temporarily suppress immune function. In the first part of this review, we deconstruct the key pillars which lay the foundation to this theory—referred to as the “open window” hypothesis—and highlight that: (i) limited reliable evidence exists to support the claim that vigorous exercise heightens risk of opportunistic infections; (ii) purported changes to mucosal immunity, namely salivary IgA levels, after exercise do not signpost a period of immune suppression; and (iii) the dramatic reductions to lymphocyte numbers and function 1–2 h after exercise reflects a transient and time-dependent redistribution of immune cells to peripheral tissues, resulting in a heightened state of immune surveillance and immune regulation, as opposed to immune suppression."

Care to back that up with some sort of peer reviewed study?

Very likely to be mild but it’s the long term impacts that are less known. He’s only just got back to fitness to, been very good last three games for us. Wish him a super speedy recovery!
As far as we know he's asymptomatic.

They're testing everyone in the squads regardless of having symptoms

Fair enough.
