Now that’s just being silly, stop being jealous just because other clubs are getting shiny new toys
I'm not sure I understand this sentiment? Do you not want to get better or are you ok with just aiming for top 4 year on year out like Arsenal circa 2010?

They're supposedly in for another CB, after Silva, and a keeper...

Must be nice

Nonsense. We've spent 1.2bn since Fergie left. That's more than every club in the world bar one.

We don't lack ambition. We lack competence.
The same reason he is considering leaving Barca so there is no way he would swap an incompetent Barca for an incompetent man united, plus let's be real solskjaer's name doesnt currently have the same draw as the likes of pep, zidane or even a koeman tbh.

Totally agree but I never thought for a second he'd come to us. City put all the groundwork in to get Pep with the former Barca staff at snr management level. It's no wonder he'd go there.

Jealous? Shiny new toys?
Right.....
The manager has said the squad needs major improvement to compete in league and UCL and apparently complaining about not doing enough is jealousy... right.... maybe Ole is also jealous

The same Ole who refused to use subs in our run in and Europa League semi. Right....
You are complaining Tottenham are signing a 28 year old Matt Doherty. Leeds signing 29 Year old Rodrigo Moreno. Both of whom, if United were linked with them people would be up in arms. Especially if we signed Doherty. People would be claiming that we show no ambition, that he's just another British signing doomed for the deadwood in a couple years. Look at the absolute state of the Brooks thread! People think he's not worth it or United aren't showing enough ambition, the exact same thing would happen if we were signing Doherty ourselves.

Just relax there's plenty of time to sign players. Gone are the days we just "sign" someone for the sake of it. I'd rather the club be patient and sign the right players instead of a team full of mercenaries or players who aren't suitable.

Leeds and Spurs you're jealous of here. Leeds and Spurs!

Of course I want better players & I want to challenge for the title but I'm also patient enough to wait and not bitch and moan when other clubs are signing players. We got people complaining Spurs are signing Matt Doherty and we aren't for feck sake!

We all need to get a grip and stop worrying what other clubs are doing!

Sigh.

Wonder what happened when we had that wonder year under LVG signing all those players......worked out well for us.

No I am stating (not complaining) that Leeds and Spurs are improving their squads.

I can state what I like, you can relax if you like.

There is nothing new between this summer and the last summer we made top 4 so far.

I felt this post on so many levels.

Here come the "Chelsea have had 2 transfer windows worth to spend" posts
The transfer ban meant feck all. They still got on with business. These deals haven’t just happened

Liverpool's chase for Thiago is complicated by the fact that they're still trying to sort out Wijnaldum's contract and an overall lack of sales.

Atalanta's Lennart Czyborra will leave for Cagliari on a two-year loan with an obligation to buy at 5 million Euros.

So what if they improve their squad, there is still ample time to go!

Last Summer we signed AWB and then Maguire on Deadline day. So yes if we sign someone for the first team there is no difference or anything new.

We got a great deal for AWB, Woody got his way (IIRC Palace wanted the Zaha sell on clause removed and Woody said no) and there was ample time left in the window.

The transfer ban meant feck all. They still got on with business. These deals haven’t just happened
They've had an excess amount of cash to spend. That's what they mean by that. You can talk to whoever you like during the season, but money can't be exchanged until the window is open. So they've essentially had a whole season to chat with players. So the transfer ban has helped them in a sense.

Except Doherty isn't British, bud.
Awkward.....my mistake

Zaha still wants to leave despite Crystal Palace's recent transfer activity though there isn't much activity from other clubs for him.

City and #Messi have already agreed terms
The most brilliant thing about this imho is that probably no player they have like a KdB will want to leave City without having had the chance to play with Messi. That imho is the true effect of this if true bc its clear some players started to lose some faith in their project over there.

Our first real opposition is on October 3rd.

Will you care in November if we got the players over the line before or after the season started.
Yes, players need time to adjust to new squad, tactics and to gel together

Liverpool can't be that skint surely that they wont pay £26M for Thiago. Even his injuries are worth risking at that price.
They are playing the waiting game, they have enough in the squad to carry on next season, then they will spend big.
Right now they are just about financially viable in terms of wages to revenue, if there is a prolonged amount of time without fans etc then they could be in trouble if they splash too much cash this window.

Did Fernandes require time to 'bed in'?

No

It's a myth that players need to time to gel and adjust to the squad. Adjust to the Prem, yes that may be the case. Adjust to the squad, tactics and gel together. Not so much.

The only way that they can efficiently 'gel' is by playing games together. Competitive games at that.

Nonsense.

If we can't deal with Crystal Palace and Brighton with our current squad we have bigger problems than a few new signings.

Ideally yes, but this is not an ideal year, and the transfer window runs a while past season start.
If you believe you can get a better deal you don't pull the trigger until you have to.

Bruno didn't need adjust time.

As long as we get the players in before the window closes I won't care too much.

Ah play the long game and bid a week before the season starts giving Dortmund no time to find a replacement meaning the deal collapses. Oh well Woodward can tell all the fans we made an offer.
To be fair, the message is consistent with their stance from the beginning: they're ready to drag this out to October in order to get Sancho over the line.

Anyways, another United-related Tweet:

Key point: we're close to signing Isak Hansen-Aaroen from Tromso.

Just because one player didn't need to bed in does not mean it isnt true. I can name you signings over the last 2 years.

Fred, Keita, Fabinho, Rodri, Le Celso, Ndombole, Cabellos and many more.
