If this is true then this leads to the improvement of our whole team, especially the way our front 3 connects.

I really hope Ole stops 4231 and starts 433.
It would be long overdue.

Where would Bruno play in a 4-3-3? Doesn’t seem like a player that will work as an 8.
He played as an 8 before joining us his coach said. Never watched him before though but our team does not need a 10 eitherway.

Didn’t he play that position in his first couple games for us and was very good in the role? Or at least slightly deeper.
No always 10 except maybe one game.

Would actually be over double what van de Beek costs. Villa holding firm at £80m.
Watch villa drop that asking price now that we have hopefully moved on and after realizing the referees have caught on to his olympics level diving ability next season.

Still think Ziyech was the one we should have bought from Ajax and would have filled a immediate need in the first XI (that guy is special) unlike Donny whos position is already occupied. But I'm not not complaining. It's a long season and depth is needed.
Provided the starting XI is addressed properly ie DLP CB, RW this transfer may be amazing value for money. CL proven too. Won't find a better backup players around

Just allowed myself to watch a highlights video of a player before we’ve actually confirmed the signing for the first time in ages. Couldn’t help but think his passing was a bit crap until I realised they’d separated the video into sections and I was watching the dribbling section.

Really excited about this now. At the very least he improves our depth which is one of our biggest weaknesses. Looks to have a few tricks up his sleeve as well.

May I point out that for all the talk we always get fleeced for once the fee does not seem so big? Roughly half of what they got for De Ligt.

Not world class but a quality right winger all the same.
I guess the plan has been to get Sancho for that position, be it on this or the next summer. Which probably meant that we are not interested in other expensive players who play on that position.

Good signing, but wonder how the midfield will look like, if Pogba, Bruno and de beek all fit. Hope it's just the start of our window, and go for a wing and left back.

He looks a decent enough player from when I've watched him play, technically sound and can do a bit of everything. He's not a signing that is particularly exciting or one I expect to be a game changer but he will add more quality to the squad which is good.

I think what I'm really happy about is it means Pereira and Lingard are further away from playing time. Get a right winger and you can add Mata to that list.

Been very impressed by him the little I have seen him play. I'm genuinely baffled by the "he's not a starter/where is he going to play? " comments. The most glaring issue with that squad is depth, and he is a massive improvement in that regard. Obviously more is needed to challenge but I have a strong feeling this will go down as a very good signing.
How are you baffled by them when you answer yourself in the next sentence?

Good player, but it feels like we’re trying to fill a hole that doesn’t exist in the team.

I’ll be more sold on him if we can sign 2-3 more players, so perhaps it’s just the order of them that’s puzzling me.

I honestly think we should buy more players from Ajax since their such a good club to deal with and won't demand a ridiculous transfer fee like English clubs do with their best players. Also another reason is their CEO Edwin Van Der Sar is a manchester united legend. Fantastic signing

Ajax fans love him and are gutted to see him leave, but wishes him all the best. Very similar feelings to how it was when Bruno joined us. Pretty sure he will be a success for us. Just hope caftards can lay down the hate and vitriol while he is settling in.

He may not be the first signing we wanted but he is an addition the squad needs.
And i don't necessarily think he is simply mooted as cover or groomed for the Pogba or Bruno roles. He could play in the same structure in the Matic role against opposition that give us the lions share of possession.
He would also give us the option of playing a few more flexible formations such as a midfield diamond with 2 up front which is especially beneficial with a squad lacking out and out winger or quality wide players.

I hope he does well.

Tbh I never rated him as highly as some of the other Ajax products, but there are definitely some people with a lot more knowledge in football that took a good look at him, so I'm ready to be proven wrong.
