There’s another one that does the whole argument, died laughing at the end “match over, the baz wins”
Sorry to be off topic but I saw your guys posts and went and checked out the fun with animation thread. Oh my I have been crying with laughter. The one with them talking about building a wall and the one about left footed pen takers. Absolutely brilliant. Those are real transcripts from the Cafe?

Back on topic : finally we have something to be happy about. I can see this being our only signing. I really hope im wrong.

Have a feeling Pogba will switch to a deep-lying midfielder when Matic needs a rest, and Donny will play the box to box role. And then of course if Bruno needs a rest, then VDB can come in for him too.

McT and Fred are a great combination when you want to park the bus and then try to catch a team on the counter, but neither of them offer much creativity or vision in the attacking department. Would be great if McT could develop into a Matic type player in the future.

That "ITK" has been surprisingly accurate so far tbh. Unlike the Reddit ones.
I see there are tweets about us having made a bid of 85 + 23, but BVB are asking for all of the money up front as they don't have enough time to find a replacement.
It says the negotiating team went back to the Glazers for permission. There are also mentions about us contacting Ousmane Dembele's representatives.

We are lurking and working on transfers - I am sure about that. Donny happened in no time really. I thought Sunday would be a slow day for transfers, yet Monday afternoon we have a 'Here we go!'. I assume there's been a lot of financial sorting going behind the scenes so we could free up some funds.

I like this signing to the bits but I really hope it wont mess up like bringing in Berba while we had Rooney and Tevez.

I still think a proper DM is still out priority if not this year atleast next year.

Would you guys prefer a proper LB or a proper DM in this window if we have to go for just one?

Proper DM, Shaw isn't good enough to win the title but hes OK, Matic is 32 and tires quickly after a run of games

to those that have watched him play a lot, can he play in a mid 3 with Pogba and Fenandes. I know a lot of people are saying he can cover both of them when injured or rested but I can't see him being sold on that role coming to us. I'm wondering if Ole has sold on playing in a 3 with those 2. I haven't seen a lot of him to be honest so don't know his game or potential enough.

Great to hear we have finally smashed a coconut and started with the transfers. Now, onwards to a CB and a proper goalscorer!

You're not allowed to ask a sensible question like this, apparently it's moaning. Just shut up and post 'Yay!.

I hope Bruno drops deep to make it midfield 3.

I haven't watched him other than some youtube clips, but I'm sure that against a lot of teams we could play with those three for constant press.
And in the tougher games it would be whoever two of those three are in the best form starts while the third is the impact sub if needed.

I think it's really important to point out that he will really improve our Handsome XI too, which has been a bit neglected in recent transfers like Maguire and AWB.

Do people reckon Fred still has a future at United if this guy his the ground running? Seems he's a proper upgrade, especially going forward.

The depth is what’s pleases me. When did we last have good midfield depth?

Bruno
Pogba
VDB
Matic
Fred
Scott

Not including Mata, Andreas and Lingard. Now we can not shit the bed if Bruno is out or out of form

Great signing by Ole. Now de Beek can provide competition to pogba and Bruno with slight twist in attack and midfield trio can play in same 11.

Hardworking and good technical ability having midfielders are rare breed. Man United got one. He can fill the void in case pogba or Bruno needed rest as well. Welcome to premier league van de Beek.

Matic is not here forever, and won't be fit to play a lot of games.

If we were to play VdB, Pogba, Bruno from start then Fred is likely the first to sub in for the first two of those if needed.

He'll get less time than last season, but we have the depth to not worry about injuries, and we can rotate more.

Admittedly I've not watched much of him, and youtube scouting is mostly highlights, however, I like how tidy he seems to be on the ball. Despite his insane productivity I find Bruno sloppy and wasteful more times than I'd like. VDB will be a good addition.

I don’t think so. I don’t think he fits in, but let’s see how the season pans out. The issue, as always would be that I don’t imagine he would have many teams that would be interested in him, in order to love him on.

Competition for places can work wonders though.

Ajax are such a classy club, despite the scraps in amsterdam last time we played there
I really like them as a club, but feel quite bad for them that they continually seem to be losing talent. On the one hand, I think it's remarkable how many talented players come from that league. So, they get to see these players very early on and that keeps things exciting. On the other hand, it's a shame that the league isn't seen as more prestigious or competitive, and that cycle of developing talent > selling on talent > using money to buy younger talent or developing young players > selling those on, that cycle is not going to help improve the status of that league in the long term.

It's a tricky one, because it is a "successful" model in the sense that they continue to make money out of it. I just feel that certain leagues are always destined to stay on top, and certain other leagues are destined to never close that gap, at least with the way things are.

Don't we only announce signings when the stock market is open? It's closed today as it's Bank holiday Monday here in UK. I'd imagine it will be tomorrow it will be officially announced
It absolutely amazes me how some myths pop up on an annual basis. What's next, we'll recoup the fee by shirt sales?
