Well obviously it's different but he performed well in comparison to the other goal-keepers in the league and he's only 23 which is young for a keeper.

If you're one of these people who think stats are pointless, then there isn't much point in having a discussion.

I'm sure you can judge a player with your eyes, have watched each of his games and your memory is flawless.
Well Romero had 17 starts last season and 12 clean sheets compared to Henderson's 36 starts and 13 clean sheets for example. But then you'll probably come back with some comment about the opposition. So yeah, stats are pretty pointless. Romero's been pretty solid every time he's played for United. Henderson had a couple of howlers last season.

Gonzalo Higuain's brother and agent, Nicolas, has his say on Gonzalo's future:

Relevant quote:
Gonzalo's future? He has received offers from France, England, Spain, China and USA clubs, but not the ones that could me you go weak at the knees. We will make our evalution carefully, but two things I can say for sure: Gonzalo will no longer play in Italy and most of all he will never play for Boca Juniors. He grew up at River Plate and he would never join their rivals. Retiring? This is nonsense. The time has not come yet, he wants to play. How long he will play, it's up to him. But he wants to keep playing. Maybe he will return to Argentina in the future, but not now.

Well, stats have to be taken in context. If you're going to use an example that you know isn't comparing apples with apples it doesn't really prove your point.

Besides I don't believe clean sheets tell you a huge amount about a keeper's performance. There are far too many other variables at play.

Romero's been ok but he didn't cover himself in glory against Norwich, for example.

This sentence is all kinds of confusing. Let's flip the sentence around.

"He is somebody Manchester United have scouted, have looked at, have been impressed by."
"I don't think [Dayot] Upamecano will be coming to #mufc this summer."
I was going to say that - literally, even thought of flipping the sentences! That is a really odd quote.

Yeah... but Sancho is a once in generation talent proven across seasons with a spotless injury record. Also he's 21 and English.

The world will always find good CBs and last season, the defence was one of the best in the league despite looking vulnerable at times. Better to buyout Upamecano next season when the price drops than with Sancho who may never sign for us again with mega rich clubs recovering their finances.
Just to be clear Id choose Sancho all day long, I guess there is a debate after all haha.

Yeah you do get the impression that Utd have other targets in mind for CB,however with RW there has next to no concrete stuff on Sancho alternatives

I'm going to post this because it has something interesting about Arsenal. Van de Beek's agent confirms that Arsenal were also in for Donny but couldn't afford him due to COVID-19.

Relevant quote:
There were more clubs with interest, such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal. There were six in total, but it all came to an end because of the Coronavirus.

Yes, they really wanted him, but they just couldn’t get the money for a transfer. Even the biggest clubs struggle. Arsenal is a great club, but Manchester United will certainly be an interesting adventure.
I'm guessing Arsenal would need to sell before they can buy any new players, which explains the Bellerin outgoing links.

I get the impression that Utd are prepared to wait for the right CB which at least shows a plan

EDIT: The only thing new in this article is Romano's suggestion that Inter could sell Skriniar or Brozovic to get more money for new incoming transfers. There were no further mentions of potential incoming players other than Kolarov and Vidal (so no Ndombele or Kumbulla yet).

I think Inter Milan are planning on having two teams in Serie A soon by the sounds of it. They go for everyone.

Antonio Conte is like a monster in a movie that you have to constantly feed in order to keep him from getting really pissed off. He needs at least 5 new players every window at Inter by the sound of it!

Look up, you’ll see my comment flying by. :houllier:
We haven’t got the wingers to play 4-4-2, would leave it too easy for the opponents to defend against us. Not very often you see it in the Premier League nowadays with the amount of attacking talent about and the 2 man mid getting overrun by a 3.

We all love United
Everton seems like the second highest spenders in the league after Chelsea. Are they that rich? I read they have new owners

Patrik Schick has been sold to Bayer Leverkusen for 26 million Euros + bonuses.

Not a bad deal considering that he's still young and can develop.

Apparently Real Madrid were offering more but couldn't get the deal over the line!
I love how all these journalists who were completely blindsided by our interest until it was reported elsewhere suddenly have 'the inside story'.
