Efforts have 'intensified' you say?

Me likey
 So far this has been the most pathetic transfer saga. Every update over the last month has been to confirm that we are still trying but feck all is happening. Wish Ed would just go all out for the player or move on and sort other business as we seem to be falling well short this summer, as things stand.

Totally agree with you and I’ve been posting about this for months.

Nobody here can reliably tell us to what level Masons progression will be hindered when playing out of his natural position.

I happen to think it’s potentially a hell of a lot more damaging than many like to think in here.

Hold up play, positioning, linkup, finishing, movement. All these key areas need to be worked on and fine tuned for an elite level striker. No matter how talented you are.

We can’t sit here and say ‘ah well Henry and Ronaldo made the transition.’ Ffs.
If Sancho arrives...sooner or later the player who will end up on the bench is Rashford. He is quite inconsistent and far relies too much on pace...he needs to be coached into a more cerebral approach to his game.

No, no. Rashford in form is certain to play more often than not. They will all end up on the bench from time to time and if all fit it will be a dog fight for places which is how it should be.

Impending Breaking News: ED in PR masterstroke swoops to sign Jadon Sancho to divert attention from Greenwood's antics (killing the brooding media storm dead in it's tracks)

As good a reason as any to shell out the £100 odd mill as far as I'm concerned!

Keep going Bundesliga white knights. The internet needs you to convince people that Sancho is staying.
It’s bizarre, isn’t it. zehner seems to have made it his life’s mission  But we are lucky to have him posting here, lets not forget. He is, after all, an enlightened rival fan! ;)

This could be like Vidal where we weren’t in for him at all or like Bruno where we need him. We should be able to afford him. He wants to come but we still somehow need a few windows to pull it off. We should pay up and play nice with Dortmund because will probably be back for bellingham and haaland soon.

We are definitely in for him.

Well that’s not true. He has bought a lot of players our prevoius managers and current manager wanted.
Hardly any manager gets all the players they want.
You must be the only ManUtd fan in the world who thinks that Edward has done bang-up job while he has run our transfer windows. Add the fact that you think that he has done better job than Marina and i think that we have found ourselves a Glazerfan here. Next you are going to tell me that Glazers have also been good businessmen while running our football club?

Mate, you really need to start paying attention and stop the whitewashing. Right now all of our managers have come out and said that they didn't get their targets that they wanted. Moyes, LvG, Mourinho have come out and said that Edward either got them 3rd, 4th target on the list for given position or either didn't get the players in their respective positions that they wanted. I really don't think that Jose had Lee Grant as his primary target for the window after he took us 2nd in the league.

There’s just absolutely nothing happening is there. I think we’re clearly still open to doing a deal but I think it’s just stalemate at the moment.

I’ve lost faith.

Every time I read a tweet like that, I imagine them all sitting around in their office doing nothing, then suddenly going quiet and squinting at their screens.

Rob Dawson still reporting that United are pursuing the deal but find Dortmund's 120m value unreasonable, agent fees and wages are also an issue. Dortmund's first game is in a week, I don't see them selling once their season starts. If this is going to happen, we need to get a fecking move on

But like, have we even made a bid? You’d think there’s still hope until we actually make an official bid and it gets rejected. Surely there’ll be some movement either way by next week or even the weekend. If they reject a decent bid then just try for coman on loan.

I have it on good authority that Ed regularly browses the transfer forum on the caf and won't go in with a proper bid unless this thread exceeds 1000 pages. Apparently there isn't enough pressure by the fans for him to raise the bid that dortmund would consider.

If we can't get him we should have a look at Marcus Edwards. Doing good things in Portugal now.

I think I’ve had this feeling that we’re being more careful with our recruitment. However, we are still missing the opportunity to do it early enough which would prevent a panic late on. If we drop points early in the season I could easily see us dropping £50m on Brooks or bidding for Bale on deadline day or something. Hopefully we get one more in before the season starts for us to ease fan pressure.

Whatever happens we need a RW. Greenwood did brilliantly in and around the box, but only occasionally impacted the flow of the game as you'd expect a right winger/wide forward to in other areas of the pitch. Improved in that aspect massively as he bulked up after the break but still went missing quite a bit, particularly while the right side of our area was getting overloaded
Yep, who is plan B or even C? Stop gap or not. Curious who we would be looking at. There were some weak links to Chiesa but that is it. RW has been a hole for several seasons, if Sancho doesn't work out we still need someone.

At this point I am all in for Sarr to come in and split time with Mason. Much rather that than Mata, Lingard and Pereira playing there.

Is there any real news at all other than the wildest muppet reaches/biggest attention seeking nobodies chasing clicks?

If no, it's not looking good.
