This kid was someone long overdue for France midfield. Him and Pogba is the sort of creativity and skillful players France midfield badly need.

He stepped on the pitch making his debut and made it look like a kick about with his mates in the park. Looked like he’d been playing top level football for 10 years. So confident and not in like an arrogant way. Just knew what he was doing and was assured in everything he did.

Set up Martial with a pretty good chance and also broke up play pretty well which set France away.

He was extremely impressive. It's obvious he's a great talent, but I worried the hype might be a bit too much, I don't feel that way anymore. He didn't look one bit out of place for France, and he's only going to get better with experience, especially this season in the champion's league. He deserves all the hype he gets, he's a special player.

He looks class. May be the next big money transfer in world football if he continues developing at this rate.

I think he's got the potential to be one of the greats of his generation; said a long time back he's so likely to go to Madrid that I've only watched him in admiration from afar as we've no hope of getting him.

Got told off for that! With others saying the Madrid links are not as watertight as I might think.

Can imagine he would have had a great game as you've suggested. Doesn't surprise me as he's a special, special player. Anyone who does land him is in for a treat!

I thought that he was special but tonight was very special because he basically did what the other midfielders from both teams did but with more ease. Nothing flashy or highlight worthy but it was like watching Modric.

First time I've really watched him play and he was really good. Kept it simple and turned it on when he needed to.

Looked like he has been an international for years. Barring injuries going to be the best midfielder for the next 15 yrs.

He looks special, if we don't address midfield this summer I hope we go for him next summer rather than Rice pudding.

You should pray we never see a midfield of Thomas Muller and Declan Rice - then we will surely have a pudding. Mullerrice :)

Unlike Renato this kid actually has talent mate.

Renato was never that good to begin with.
Bollox. Renato was good at Benfica. Showed maturity well beyond his years. Went missing for a few years but it’s good to see him back and looking very promising indeed at Lille.

Renato was genetically gifted and physically beyond his years but lacked the passing ability, touch, and positional awareness to ever be worth the money he went for or to be a top player at a top club.

Was a disaster at Bayern and Swansea and although he had an improved season at Lille I would not hold my breath. His ceiling is quite small.

Additionally anyone is good at Benfica. Unsurprisingly when there "top" talents or players leave with the help of Mendes they always tend to be quite average if not shit.

There are exceptions but not many.

Why has he apparently got such a hard on for Madrid? Hopefully their new stadium keeps them quiet in the market for a while.

No one knows if he likes Madrid but if does then that is normal for European youngsters.

I saw his debut. Stepped in and prowled around like he always belonged there. He's not yet 18. This kid could be something very very special. What a dream if it's at United.

Madrid are probably prioritising this him and Mbappe and will go for both after a quiet 2020 summer window.

They spent hefty last year, been hit by Coronavirus and a new stadium. Would be surprised if they’ve got another 300M to shell out next season.

Why cant we figure out some kind of sneaky payment deal to beat the competition for these kind of players. Like 25 over 3 years plus performance related add ons. Plus they can have him on loan. Surely Rennes need some cash with the whole pandemic sht going on.

They have quite wealthy owners themselves, the son of the richest man in France I believe, who himself has many investment groups. They just made the Champions League for the first time in their history too so they're likely in a very strong financial position despite the covid pandemic. Look at Sarr who they sold to Watford last season. Different players obviously but nowhere near the talent level of Camvinga and yet they got 30 million pounds for him. He won't go cheaply.

Rennes basically balance the books transfer-wise. Last season transfer income exactly matched their transfer spending. £49.05m in. Exactly the same out. Also looks like they can sell goalie Edouard Mendy to Chelsea this window.

The club is owned by Pinault himself or more accurately by Artémis, the family investment company, which is now managed by his son. They are the third richest family in France or 5th in Europe.

Ah I see, I thought it was just owned by the son. I see where the confusion came in. I'm still learning the Ligue 1 things. I'm getting there, just my second full season following it. :)

The confusion is possible since you are more likely to see the son linked to the club or at the stadium with Salma Hayek.

I would have said the one thing that stood out to me at Benfica was the fact that he knew when to cover people, where to be and when he could attack. His decision making in positioning was always spot on then.

Physically beyond his years? He was stocky and maybe he was deceptively strong but he was hardly using that as his only weapon. Passing he took a lot of risks. Ignorance of youth maybe. He was and still is a very good talent.

Anyway I’d take him now if he could be gotten for say 30mil

Looked really good against Croatia. To the people talking about his admiration for Zidane, I hope people realise that Camavinga was 3 when Zidane played his last ever game. As he has said, Pogba is his inspiration. Good chance he ends up at Madrid but I don't think it's as nailed on as people are saying.
